could have something to do with the ferryman choosing to be the ferryman in the first place. When he realizes Davy Jones is a threat he may of abandoned his self burdened post to prevent it because technically that's his job

@@bumbum2772 Yah, it's basically like 1 Ferryman butting in and trying to take the other one's job except that the new guy would use that influence to do terrible things, so the first has to continue doing it to keep the new guy from controlling that job. Davey Jones getting control of who lived and died would be pretty bad.

Thanks so much for these videos. I played all that content and understood a third of those connections. Adventures always feel like I'm watching a movie without having read the book and I'm missing all the easter eggs. This was like a whole easter basket of chocolate bunnies to bite the heads off.

As a new player, it seems that one of the most interesting things about SoT is also one of the most frustrating: the developing lore. It's very hard to get a handle on what's going on, and there's a certain amount of retrospective FOMO in knowing that some content is lost to me. Does anyone have any advice as to how to uncover as much of the in-game lore as possible through actual gameplay, what order to do it in, and what lost content needs looking up in order to fill the gaps? I'm trying to avoid spoilers (haven't watched this video), but I don' want to deprive myself of information that I wouldn't be able to get through normal gameplay.

0:47 lul, I ran reaper emissary for the first time and attacked another reaper. they asked why i attacked them and they offended, actually offended, when I said "you're flying reaper emissary, the pvp faction, fighting is what reapers do!" 5:21 well if they had gone after daggertooth instead of gold sands that mistake would have been easier to avoid :P

The dark breathen feels like a bunch of random and uncharacteristic people who said: "fuck it let's destroy the sea of thieves for some reason"

Because they were treated like outcasts to the sea of thieves and just wanted to be known by everyone which is why Wanda aka warsmith tried to be a great blacksmith but then found the cannons of flameheart ship and got curesd. The gold hoader who was flesh and blood wanted pirates life to be about gold and plunder but the pirate lord wanted to turn the sea of thieves into a roller coaster (just joking) because he wanted to be the only person to open the cursed treasure in the sea of thieves. Duke just wanted everyone to have fun in the bilge rats community, but Jim and the masked stranger black mailed him to do there biding to collect bad relics which led to him being kicked out.

@@nickpalmer8214 I know, lol, the Gold Hoarded actually never did anything "wrong" before turning into a Skeleton lord, Duke is almost just there because he's kinda a hostage, Dave Jhones is Dave Jhones, and wonda is wonda, I really never thought wonda would be so big of a deal, for me she was just an regular Skeleton Captain (and evolved to a Skeleton lord for some reason)

Am i the only one who don't get why people are making fun of reapers being the "PvP factions" And making memes about reapers running away from fight? Like okay the faction might be the about PVP but not every player likes pfp. Some people just want to get some loot and sell it and grind some ranks. I never heard about anyone laughing at gold horders or merchants emissary running away from fight.

It's expected for reapers to fight. You want to run and sell..be a merchant and quit giving reapers a bad name. No pve lords allowed, this is a reaper neighborhood

@@mountainrogue3448 merchants don't pay as good as reapers. Not only reapers give you a better reward for every item, working for them also have the best $/h ratio of all the factions. Because you can sell them EVERYTHING. If you have a merchant / gold choarders / order of souls emissary you will get the bonus only from the things sold to them. So yeah. Some people just want to make a good money and just because the faction is about PvP does not mean everyone who have their flag have to PvP. With this logic you could argue that any other faction should not be allowed to PvP because their faction is not about it. It's the same stupid logic. It's the different situation if person running is waving a reapers mark, because it's purely PVP
