We found out in Smile 2 it can poses you anytime it wants and we seen what happens when it makes you take a back seat. it has access to your memories too, never really heard of a demon doing that? We simply can't comprehend what it wants because we don't know what layer of reality its operating on. I don't think we need to understand.

One of the most interesting deaths you didn’t go into, that brilliant opening to smile 2, wasn’t the conventional “suicide” death. But was still used to pass on to the drug dealer. It’s interesting to think about the sequence, 6 days in, seeing her burning as he walks. The question is how much control did he have, or did the demon arrange that scenario. He made it seem like he was excited to terrorize skylar (whatever her name is) because she was so freshly full of trauma so it makes you wonder if the demon is identifying it’s victims in advance

Starting off on one, it could be a demon, and if so it'll be the absolute worst to get rid of that thing. Or Two, it's an entity that had an original spawn point, and now out of nature it's acting on inflicting severe trauma to spread and survive. Maybe there could be more to it, not just a smile but other forms of trauma.
@mattsworldroadto60332 ай бұрын
This demon might not even be a demon at all like alot of other comments are suggesting, in fact, it may not even be anything at all. Instead, it may actually be a mere concept of trauma itself, but trauma that takes form in the figure of a "demon" or "unknown entity". Its possible that the demon is a conceptual thing rather than a character or anything along the lines of that. Since it is a concept, that would mean that the concept/thing would be devoid of any motive, intents, etc. Everything is technically done not consciously, nor even unconsciously. One thing that is perhaps true is the fact that since it is something conceptual, by that meaning, technically everyone in the world is already infected, the trauma is just playing around in the playground like you say, this thing literally may even have no limit to what it can do. Essentially, it is everything all at once. Just my theory!

One thing I will push back on a little. While I also can be annoyed by over usage, or stupid usage, of hallucinations. I think they are very important to the Smile story. It shows you just how doomed the one possessed is. The viewer can not EVER trust the perspective of the possessed after Smile 2. The only way I think a new story, a Smile 3 can be told is either a prequel, that explores origins or something. Or if it tells the story of what happens after S2 it has to be from the perspective of a protagonist who is helping someone possessed instead of the one afflicted. You can trust a helpers' perspective as the entity has no power to make them hallucinate. Also, I think they should absolutely NOT go with the Everyone Who Saw Skye Die Is Now Possessed storyline idea. It would just be too big, too cumbersome, and unless it is a netflix type series or something of the like, it would not fit into a 2hr movie worth watching. Edit: I meant protagonist....antagonists would not be helping 😢. Fixed

In the oroboros theory of the smile affecting the whole world. What if it does in fact run out of people to traumatize? Like. What if it starts to target an unaffected person and does anything it can to traumatize this perso. By offing others infront of them and that person's just like "cool, guess I'll call the cops and mortuary now" and is impervious to it? What if multiple are? Maybe God need not intervene, maybe there are some mentally strong enough to resist

With how vague the movie explain the movie, I think it's not even a demon, it's just a mere entity that basically meddling with people's mind. It's just an animal that try to live, I also think that the entity movement isn't just restraint with traumatic people. Now trauma itself is basically just a bad experience in your life, what makes it a trauma is the person who get affected so bad by it that those bad experience shaped their life. To me this Entity could move to anyone, without restrictions into any rules or regulations. because it's basically something that stay in your head, and playing with you by meddle with your bad experiences, stress, and anxiety, the crack in your brains that makes you vulnerable. It terrorize you psychologicly, and the more severe your mental state is, you'll became more receptive into the entity influence. That's exactly why Skye hallucinations feel more severe than what Rose had, and why her hallucinations was very intricate, she was very vulnerable because of her accident, the pain of her recovering wounds, the stress of her tour preparation, her mom, her loneliness and so on fuel the entity to have a better grip on her. Skye problem is more complicated than Rose's past trauma, even you can see even if Rose work her shift far off, she's basically making the best of her life from what she's believe. While Skye... Literally had her every step weighted by every expectations.

Just to list some franchises/movies (cause its easier than listing the demons) Smile, It, Evil Dead, Exorcist, Sinister, Conjuring(universe), Hellraiser, Jennifer's Body, Insidious, Veronica, Oculus, Lights Out, Hereditary, Amityville, Drag Me to Hell, Krampus(I guess?), The Babadook (if you think its real), The Grudge/Ju-On(I guess?) Maybe Ringu counts too? It Follows. Terrifier. Anyway, if you decide to do it that is a pretty good list to start with. If not, that's cool too.
