The paranormal stuff of the story is largely a ton of local folk tales about the event cobbled together into one cohesive story, which is why the descriptions of the paranormal activity feel a little like throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. As for an official explaination, the project was formally closed due to financial reasons, though obviously burying the whole thing in concrete is a little unusual. Maybe it was the site of some kind of mass hysteria or shared psychosis? Either way, if you completely buy into the paranormal side of it, there's an absurd amount of testimonials that don't match up with one another, so it's hard to piece together what really happened.

I am Bulgarian, I was a child, but I remember when they were digging. Everything was very secret, very mysterious. The army was very much in charge. High officers were involved with the permission of the minister of defense at the time. Everything happened soon after the revolution of 89. The wife of one of the officers was receiving voice messages in her mind and she was writing hundreds of pages in a strange language. She was basically giving instructions on the excavations. I never heard of entities but there were sightings of strange lights and unidentified objects in the sky. A very famous Bulgarian psychic, a blind old woman baba Vanga was also involved. As I remember she was warning them to stop digging. It's a true story. Finally they seized the project and filled the hole with concrete.

Cryptids, cover ups, poltergeists, portals, a horror movie like fire fight, ancient lovecraftian horrors buried in the bedrock, UFOs, strange disappearances and teleportation, seers/psychics and remote viewers, equipment malfunctions, whispers on the com system. It's like someone took the best stuff from a whole bunch of different, disparate stories and put them all in one grand narrative. All the stuff you guys do on this channel is great, but this one is so weird and packed full of the good stuff, that it outdoes even your usual great content.

I am from Bulgaria and by luck my uncle,may God bless his soul,was a drinking buddy with one of the people station there for some time. Most of the UFO sightings were added later by attention seekers or maybe even the military to make it look more unbelievable. Also there was no shoot out like in some american film lol. But there was some weird shit there. The whole thing was more of a Lovecraftian ghost mix than action packed UFO film. Trough out the years of excavation a lot of people died or went mad. There were a lot of malfunctions,shadowy people sightings,maddening dreams. Soldiers were found dead from fright on a few occasions. Also the whole depiction of the interior sounds too friendly to for humans :). From what i hear from the mate,it was more like riggetly small narrow cave like places dark,damp and miserable. LoL imagine your lights going out in such a place,surrounded by darkness and hearing otherworldly voices :(. It is shame that so many of our good boys kicked it there. Anyway the original story was how they find this place with that thing in a sarcophagi,but there was no gun fight,but some kind of psychic phenomenon that maddened the expedition and scared the shit out of the generals and such. The original story before people when full on UFO,was about a tomb of a pre historian pagan god or maybe a temple.

May I weigh in here and say I am a Bulgarian, and I remember watching a documentary as a kid about this place. Let me tell you the operation did take place, psychics were actually involved in this operation and the hole in the ground truly got sealed for good with lots and lots of concrete. Troopers did die and this documentary that I watched was based on leftover materials that survived the censorship, villagers and psychics. The place is actually real, you can go there and see it for yourself, but whatever is in that hole I think should stay there although I'm really curious what took the lives of those men that went inside. Baba Vanga was the greatest seer of Bulgaria, she had lost her vision in a storm but gained true sight of past, present, future and supernatural. I don't really believe in these stuff but whatever she had foreseen in her life has come to pass so I'm sceptical about my scepticism :) and she saying to leave whatever is inside in peace - the army took her advice.

This doesn't lend credence to accounts of either incident, but just that it sounds like a recurring theme. I'm really not sold on the idea that the Bulgarian government would have had Remote Viewers on payroll, never mind been willing to allocate scarce resources to what might have been a wild goose chase into the mountains, especially given how seriously chaotic the region was at risk of becoming. But neither am I willing to dismiss the idea entirely, especially in mind of the disappearance of all records and paperwork associated with this business. I remember reading this so called interview of an alien that I thought was complete bollocks but read it all out of fun curiousity. like a book. The Alien was called Lacerta and she basically explained to the reporter that they were here before us but most have no idea because advanced civilizations find much higher security by living deep within the crust of the planets they live on (Proper shielding from other possible alien races) What I found interesting was that she wouldnt tell the reporter the exact locations of their entrances of some of their bases but that most were in secluded regions of earth, like National forests like in Canada, and in Mountains and caves, and that if you were to ever happen to get close you would most definitely be in danger. But here is the interesting part that I remember, she said you would know you are close to one of our entrances if you notice that the cave system suddenly becomes very smooth like, as if the stone was polished like a mirror. Just like described in this event.

Wow... The writing and narration are always great, but I am *always* surprised and continually amazed by the work done by Bedtime Stories' graphic artist(s)! 😉 I mean, the style, composition, shadow depth, subject detail, etc of the artwork brings these stories to life on an entirely another level! 8:53 - This image captures the foreboding atmosphere of the remote pine forests of the Eastern European countryside on an almost emotional level! Soldier or not, I would be scared standing guard in a similarly remote area at night... (...and even more so camping in the area with a small number of civilians)! Even the locals will tell you that these pine forests are ancient, mysterious, and virtually impenetrable - as there are regions of the Bulgarian countryside where sunlight *never* reaches... That thick, heavy, almost "alert" sensation is perfectly captured by the artwork in this particular episode especially! Hats off to your team, Bedtime Stories! Remarkable...

5:00 Thracian tribes founded a Slavic nation? You got some history wrong. Bulgarians themselves have formed as a nation from 2 migratory nations: the Bolgars (turkic nation which migrated from Asia and settled for a period around the Volga river - where their name comes from - and then migrated to the nowadays Bulgarian territory along with Avars who invaded the nowadays Romanian territory) and the South Slavs who migrated in Balkans. The Ancient Thracians from Balkans along with Dacians in Romania were in 3rd century Latin speaking nations (Daco-roman language) and the successors of Thracians still surivive in the Balkans and they are called Aromanians and they are the only Latin speaking language in the Balkans.

Well I see that this story got quite a few ornamented elements to it as it reached the wide public. First of all, I've never heard of any shooting with the psychic alien that occurred. Also no students who went camping there and their tents getting burned by UFO. The story goes like this. Military personnel gets government funding for a top secret operation at Tsarichina. The exact goal of the operation is unknown. Only chosen military personnel and officers were chosen to participate. They arrived at the site and started digging. Shovels worked for a while because the ground was mostly clay but eventually they started hitting rock so they used explosives. When they started digging the rock only the highest authority officers were allowed to continue digging from this point on.Its true that they had a seer woman with them who was supposedly guiding them in their digging. As they reached a certain point they suddenly got orders from the highest command to immediately stop work, abandon the site and seal off the hole. And that is what they did. The peculiar part here is that in the following years, almost all participants in the operation died due to illnesses, accidents, some suicides and unknown causes. There are a number of theories circulating about what the project was exactly and why was it abandoned: - First of all this was the post-communist era and Bulgaria wanted to join NATO but to do so we were required to dispose of all soviet tech we used in our army (which was all of it). So as a last stand to that our government probably decided to bury some nukes and other weaponry deep inside the ground to have as a reserve. (?) The Americans found out about the operation and it was abandoned(?) - Information got out that there was a secret storage of WW2 weapons there buried by the nazis so the government ordered to dig it up - The 90s here were a time of lawlessness, mafia and fast money making. This operation could be a cover money laundering scheme for some retiring military personnel to get some free cash from the government. - They dug too deep and with all the explosions the tunnels started collapsing and they were forced to abandon the project. - And last but not least. Aliens. Or, to be more specific there was rumored to be the tomb of the first ever living humanoid creature on earth who also supposedly had 2 genders. There are probably more theories but these come from the top of my head. Sadly, we might never find out whats hidden there. While you're interested in this you can check out the mysteries of Selo(village) Kirovo and the weird mounds next to it in the forest. Locals say that in that forest in the 60s there lived a tribe of 3metres tall people that spoke and wrote in an unknown language. And these strange mounds were their graves. They said that once a teacher led a student expedition there as part of their trip. He gaves them shovels and they started digging out one of the mounds and actually found a 3 metre tall skeleton there. However, there is not much else known around the place.
@zarni000 Жыл бұрын
There is more than enough to say it was paranormal. In 1989 you didn't need an elaborate scheme like this to get government money. It was much easier. And no has nothing to do with nato as we were not even yet considered even. The commies were still in power. I'm afraid all your theories have little foundation.

Wtf? I had never heard of this before, and I love stories in with elements of subterranean, secret military, ancient entities, psychic phenomena, etc. I especially love one's that seem too wild to possibly be true, except for the fact that there are hints of something anomalous within official documentation and/or credible witnesses (like an army colonel). It imparts a sense that maybe someday, someone will stumble across some old files with stern markings and demands of secrecy, but that are of such an age as to not stop the finder from taking a look... Anyway, my point is that I LOVE this kind of story, but I had never heard it before, which very surprising because I actively hunt for such tales. Originality: one of the many reasons, and arguably the most important, that BS is the best channel of its type on YT, and maybe the best period.
