Because if you actually do have intense emotions you can't guarantee that you can get the social outcome that you want because the situation in question requiers a different emotion. Feelings have sense as a reflection of the world around you, not as a result of you're own state. Why? Because you have the impression that you can't be understood.
@geetee8665 Жыл бұрын
I believe it's because we can perspective shift by imagining a scenario by moving through the events using a cause and effect logical analysis to forsee who will and will not be happy or not happy about a certain result from the task at hand. That's how that looks, we don't have a good personal fluid use of colorful emotions and warm expressions, we are not silly or playful, and we don't get what's inappropriate to make funny comments on until it's too late because we often speak on sacred aspects of life as if they are just ideas to throw around, however these things are not okay at all times and around all types, we get better once we are aware of this and want to evolve.

I do care about people, but I do this by encouraging everyone to question the truth. I want everyone to be happy, but I think there is a logical way to get there. Sadly this logical way of getting there involves being blunt. I know that taking drugs will not make someone happy in the long run. Other types would support people who struggle with this by letting them continue their bad habits because they don’t want to offend the druggy. I know that the druggy will be happier off of drugs, so I am blunt to him/her and I warn them of the consequences of continuing their stupid mistakes. I care for people. I'm an INFJ, but this is something I do as well, ha! Caring for someone means being honest, true friends tell you when you are fucking up, enabling people is not love, rather the opposite. Also, it goes both ways, I don't want people I trust to tell me what they think I want to hear! Give it to me straight, lol. This might be my enneagram 6w5, but, I just think honesty is the only trustworthy quality (vs. the alternative); if I fuck up and don't know it, I also want to be told. Caressing my ego won't help me, so I want people to tell me the truth in my face if they truly care, and so I do the same.

“ENTPs prefer the every day expression of caring to big gestures...” Spot On! It actually tends to derail my interest in the early stages of friendship or dating if someone goes really big right at the beginning. A) It’s unsustainable and B) It comes across as needy and/or suspect. Now you apparently want/expect something from me that I might not be keen on being coerced into. Slow and steady wins the race 😉. Plus, being beneficial in my day to day life with little things gives me time and an excuse to get to know and appreciate you better. The adjusting empath in me is always uneasy about inserting myself too much into someone’s life. I don’t want to push in, take over or appropriate someone’s life, especially if I like or am attracted to them. I always give people space to reach back out to me to make sure they are as invested in the connection as I am.

I went through a process where I thought I was Intp then I realized I was more social in comparison to intps, which made me think I could be a feeler type so I decided I might be an infp, but I was definitely not that emotional and I was also still more Entp like. It l Took me about a year but I finally figured out I have been an Entp this entire time. It’s kinda of crazy looking back because I used the intp and infp label to shape how I acted, “‘masks” and it actually caused me a lot of problems because using theses “masks” caused me to act contrary to my true self which as an Entp is actually extroverted although I do enjoy alone time. Properly typing yourself is important because if you mistype you unconsciously will shape your interaction styles to be more like the stereotypes of those mistyped types. By far the best video on ENTP emotional processing that I've seen. It so true about wanting everyone to be happy and trying to help, be humorous, and look out for any outsiders, while beeing deeply embarrassed when people give you praise. The only reward I need is to see people smile. That being said I do like to point out that there is a technical difference between being an empath, which means you are clairsentient and actually feel the emotions of others, as opposed to being empathetic, which means to imagine and relate to anothers suffering. (From ENTP claircognizant empath)

I am also sure that hosting parties and owning a beautiful place like yours, cooking ribs, isn’t the main thing people love you for. It’s your character. I'm ENTP and keep telling myself I have low empathy. What you said about "Not wanting to ruin others social experience" is spot on. If someone is bleeding, puking or being sick, I'm usually the first one to help them while showing the rest how it's done. I have a dark sense of humor and tend to think about how gruesome things would be in real life and it clearly bothers me at times, I just won't admit it to others. But as an ENTP, the most logical thing to do is opening more up. People kill themselves instead of it after all, and I wouldn't be the first one to give it a thought. Being creative is another trait I possess, with very little boundary. I feel we are in the past all the time. Where is my brain chip implant and HUD in real life? Neural thought control would be excellent. If we can make a Tesla Roadster going 0-60 in 1.9 seconds, why can't we get a HUD?

You cannot understand how I enjoy your nuanced perspective. You do take into consideration that there is a multiplicity of other things that influence the way we think and behave. Keep up the good work, this is how everyone should approach personality types. As an ENTP, this was very refreshing, considering we are often portrayed as mild sociopaths. You are absolutely right when you say ENTPs can see themselves as having psychopathic traits, but at the same time, placed in any social atmosphere, my behaviors are all centered toward maintaining the social harmony or enhancing it. As a type that takes into consideration the bigger picture in our decision making, we can seem cold in the present, but this is sometimes because, I think, that we believe that the current moment even if uncomfortable, leads to a better outcome moving forward, enhancing the general social harmony of our environment. Anyway, thank you.

I'm an emotionally damaged ENTP and I've been deeply hurt in past relationships. My parents hurt me, relationships with women have been a disaster and I've had friends screw me over. So I'm automatically very verbally combative and skeptical in life now and have been for years. But I'm a very sensitive person under my hard stubborn exterior. I live alone and I've become comfortable in my own surroundings by myself because I don't have to conform to anyone elses standards. I'm good at interacting with people on a social level where I can be free to express myself and come and go as I like. But because I generally don't believe I can live up to other peoples expectations, I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to having to do things for other people, especially in a work environment. And I need a lot positive feedback about what I'm doing from managers to give me the confidence to continue with what I'm doing. I'm always late and getting myself up early and focused into my work can be utter torture for me. It makes me very unhappy to have to live like this tbh. I don't fit in with what society expects. But equally I get very frustrated with other people who say or do things which goes against what I believe is logic or that doesn't make sense and I end up freaking out about it, especially in the work environment because I can't stand having to play a guessing game about what people meant or why people did something a certain way that I don't understand.

I'm damaged too. Personality hackers website and videos have been really helpful. The one where the break the four personality functions into sitting positions in a car is especially good for broken ENTP'S. They also suggest a book called Radical Honesty. Well I'm on my second reading, its a hard pill to swallow because it hits so close to the heart. Anyway, I don't want to get too dark and deep here so but these things have helped me and I hope they help you too.

Omg…I’m half way through and had to stop and absorb because you are describing the under layer so accurately I could cry. You said it so well. Driven to deeply understand my social situation whatever it is and make a positive impact. Even as a child in grade school I wondered why I felt a need to find something nice about someone who was somewhat shunned and give a compliment to make them feel better. Yes, on the the MB test I am an over the top extrovert yet need lots of alone time to “research, process and think about” the things going on around me so I can make sense of the behaviors, health, feelings around me and then be a positive influence. Holy Toledo, Im doing my extrovert processing by writing this so I can watch the rest of the video. The social feedback loop is at the heart of it, isn’t it? That’s what made me stop the video…oh wow, when you said that I realized that it’s such a deeply vulnerable need. You are probably about to say it, that empathic part of our nature is also our downfall because it makes us people pleasers for the positive feedback. Oh gees, it’s what makes us so attractive to narcissists. Ah and that facade of logic, the protective wall of reason. I’m so well prepared with social/logical information that I step into social leadership by default be it in my marriage or a larger group, waiting for someone else who knows more/is better to take over which, in hindsight, caused me to fall into enabler patterns. Thank god for the therapists who helped guide me.

My husband needs a lot of support from me, like a cheerleader. The ENTP need for affirmation struck a chord with me. My husband has suffered greatly this year because we cannot have those fun experiences to bring up the mood when we are stressed. This also helped me see why he feels very responsible for being a mood maker in social situations. Always wants everyone to have a good time. Once again, thank you so much!

I became extroverted, assertive and somewhat fearless. The change was so rapid and apparent that my morher recounted it to people until I was in my 40's. She'd say, "can you believe this child was so shy wouldn't say "boo" to anyone and hid behind me whenever we encountered a new person/ situation until she was 13 (yrs old)? Then, Wham!! I've fallen down the rabbit hole of KZbin, to find that I am an ENTP Empath. This is so insanely accurate, and I didn't know there was a reason WHY I felt so responsible for people's emotions. Feeling responsible for other's feelings SUCKS because it often makes me feel worse too, but I feel like its completely worth it because I get to help people I've also had a sneaking suspicion for a while that I was a sociopath or narcissist- but that suspicion always went away because I care so much about other people's feelings. I really like the connection you make between taking responsibility and being empathetic. Because it is so spot on.I often wind up being the unwilling group leader (hence when a compromise needs to take place to choose lets say a restaurant).You have some people that say oh it doesn't matter, and it doesn't (if i believe you when you say it, don't come nagging afterwards, because you will make me feel super lousy). Then you have those that say it doesn't matter, but you can see it does matter.If we choose a place without consulting these people and kind of pushing them to state a preference I feel very..anxious.Because they are oozing emotion.I often feel like a radio receiver that picks up all the signals sent out by others. Maybe it's the adhd though.They ooze annoyance of not daring to state a preference, so I kind of..pull it out by offering a plethora of suggestions. Only when we achieve a reasonable amount of people that made a choice will I feel "at ease" with the group dynamic. Like someone in the comments, I'm super sensitive to passive aggresiveness, even when people think they are not being agressive, they kinda are.

Keeping everyone happy in those situations can be difficult, but a decision must be made in any case. As an INFJ such decisions on behalf of others can be much more difficult, as my divergent Fe makes me far more risk-averse in such matters than an ENTP!
@dwelfusius4 жыл бұрын
@@CognitivePersonality Oh I don't take decisions in the place of others. But it's more out of a..I want people to choose for themselves.I don't mind pushing people into taking a descision vs inaction and providing info ,basically be an agitator. And I will try to convince others of my preference, but they need to want it as well. I want them to feel like they are content with their choice, or it will disrupt harmony.If someone says "ok we'll go there because you like it", I'm seldom ok with that. The objective determinable concensus is the ultimate goal.It leaves the least possibility for annoyed people afterwards, or people feeling like their decision was not taken into account. And it provides.. justification should that situation arise anyway. It's as you mentioned, a framework. I am very aware of who in the group will act a certain way if a certain thing is said,and I always try to manage it to make everything as pleasant as possible for people. Not meaning I let myself be used because I will call out someone that is purposefully disturbing the harmony.It led me to believe I was not a "thinker" type for a long time, because I feel so much and am so sensitive to disharmony. But there is that.."cold streak" that I think allows me to actually act in a way that sometimes goes against harmony..to restore it. if that makes sense.

Thank you for this. I've always known my type to be ENTP even though most people would argue I'm more introverted, or more of a feeling type. Heck even I considered myself to be an INFJ/INTJ. I'm way too concerned with socilazing and people to be INTJ. It never really bothered me as much with interacting especially with strangers. And I've always focused on the reason and truth and believe what I know is based on what I've learned and observed and more scientific as opposed to INFJ, which I think gets and understands things, especially feelings somewhat "magically" or simply Ni. Anyway again, thank you for putting this out there cause I've had my fair share of being judged and labeled as someone who doesn't care, when in fact I care so much and it gets me frustrated that people don't see this just because it doesn't show as how they see it should. Especially being private and not sharing things, and being somewhat robotic. People can easily misjudge us. So I appreciate you bringing this out here. Ironically tho I don't want a lot of people to know cause I felt a little exposed. Please continue making more content. In fact, he kinda had a hierarchy for which siblings he preferred as well. 😬 Of course, if you’re with a partner who you doesn’t believe you have strong feelings for anyone, it’s just a matter of time until you convince yourself that her feelings for you aren’t strong enough to matter. ENTP here, and yes, the intensity that I put into my socialization requires a lot of recharging. My ESFP girlfriend has had to really get used to me needing this. Last night as an event was closing, 1am - I was waiting very patiently being tortured by small talk with drunk people as she was still mingling, walking to the car at 2am - she hinted that she wanted to find the after party (she gets serious FOMO) and I saw nothing but inefficient interaction which = in my mind HUGE deficit spending of my social budget lol

Hey Andrew, yes ESTPs are by comparison a lot better at pacing themselves, though the times they do need alone time are often comparatively more grumpy! They tend to be very open ended (and subsequently FOMO!) when it comes to a future outcome whereas the ENTP is often a lot more precise when determining whether something is worth their effort!

Watching this made me think of an analogy for how people on different judgement axes interact with the social milieu. If you think of the social-emotional environment as a pool: Te-Fi: Cannonballs into the water, splashing everyone Fi-Te: Jumps in, trying not to splash people in their immediate vicinity, but doesn't see waves created farther out. Fe-Ti: Smoothing the waves created by the others Ti-Fe: Keeping an eye on things, but can't resist doing a little splashing just to see what happens.

Thank you very much for creating this articulate and empathetic video. My teenage son is an ENTP. I have always seen his empathic gifts, his amazing ability to engage almost anyone, and his tendency to take too much responsibility for other’s feelings. However, as you explained, he is misunderstood as actually lacking empathy and integrity. His father, stepmother and certain teachers have criticized him for his lack of care/regard for others. I see he feels deeply hurt and unseen when this happens. But because he is reluctant to show vulnerability, this reinforces their opinion that he is self-centered and lacks regard for others. This video was very validating for me, and helps give me strength and patience to continue to guide him as my intuition tells me, rather than being swayed by those who choose to look at human beings at the surface level. Again, thank you.

One thing that caught my attention was when you said ENTPs are quiet when they’re young, that couldn’t be further from the truth for me. I used to be very social, ask questions, come up with ideas and tended to be a bit of a class clown, but I feel like I was constantly judged by teachers and classmates etc. So I feel like my personality was watered down over the years. It’s only now that I’m starting to regain my confidence and dgaf attitude which I lost during my teens. Everything else that you said I resonate with, so thanks for making these videos.

This really explains it so well. As an ENTP female it took me so long to correctly type myself no only because of all the things you mentioned in the video but also because stereotypical depictions of ENTPs are often more reminiscent of males of this type due to the fact that typical ENTP behavior such as being oppositional is more accepted when it comes from a boy so ENTP girls learn to hide a lot of their natural ENTP traits to the point that they don’t even think they are this type anymore

Needing to be alone to do my hobbies and learn new skills: 100% accurate. In fact, if I don't do those things, I end up annoyed that I've wasted my alone time. Taking responsibility for other people's feelings... ehhhhhh, depends entirely on the context. With friends, sure, I really like seeing them happy, seeing them enjoy the story I'm telling them, etc. That is a social situation, ie, socialising and feeling great is the whole point of it. But when there's a decision to be made, especially if the people involved are just colleagues or some other randos, then it's Ti before Fe, and if the decision is one they don't like, they can either listen to the logical explanation or cry on their own time. Seems uncaring, but... well it is uncaring, but only when it makes sense to not care. Know what I mean? When I'm truly empathetic is when people have genuine needs that have nothing to do with feelings. Homeless people, abused people, abused animals, all have a legitimate need to escape their situation. What makes sense to me is supporting organisations that give the homeless the skills and mindset to rejoin society, not running around telling homeless people, "You're special, sweetie!" The KZbin observation - ahhh, that's my secret fantasy. But it goes against my abhorrence of celebrity status and people knowing my personal stuff. So I'm in secret limbo about that. Well, I've rambled, which I've noticed seems to be a very xNxx thing to do online, so if you're a fellow N, hello! Welcome to my blog, which I publish entirely in other people's comment sections.
@CognitivePersonality4 жыл бұрын
Happy to read your blog my fellow N! Yes, when there's a decision to be made the ENTP will often (though certainly not always) shut down the axis between Fe and Ti and essentially communicate Ti with Ne-Te. The primary utility of the type, in most instances, is social, and therefore the playground tends to be one of externalised emotions :) I have a video exploring different forms of empathy! Many ENTPs will experience Mirror Empathy and, for so long as the person is within their locus of control, so they very much feel the emotional harmony of a social situation. The Relational Empathy component tends to be more unconscious in an ENTP, but still present, though I would say the humanistically-informed logic you're describing may be more of a Ti rationalisation of Fe data than empathy per se.
@AlextheENTP4 жыл бұрын
@@CognitivePersonality "playground... externalised emotions". Yes, that's what shakes many people. That we're perfectly happy to _show_ emotion, but don't employ it as the primary advisor for decision making. Living in a majority feeling-deciding world, people just expect that to be how a "decent person" functions, and they're often shocked when our "robotic" side is revealed. While I agree with you that absolutely anyone enduring past their threshold of hurt or betrayal is likely to fall into their type's weaknesses, I disagree that ENTPs are robotic for this reason. We're NTs, robotic is just part of the package. Yes, we're the most playful and emotionally expressive of the robots, but we're still robots. There's literally nothing wrong with that. Your last paragraph is a bit jargony for me to answer right now, so I'll try to check out your forms of empathy video and maybe ramble in that comment section too. I'm trying to understand what you mean by my description of empathy not really being empathy at all? Actually it sounds like you're describing... lol... a robot doing emotions. Which is genuinely hilarious if that's what you're saying. Alright, enough of my meaningless opinions for now. Thank you for taking the time to reply to me. I've enjoyed our conversation, and just for the sake of Poe's Law + possible thinker-feeler misunderstandings, everything I've said has been friendly, not fighty 👍. Signed, Cyborg 009.

I think when I was younger I wasn't as in tune with my feelings or others for that matter but as I grew up, I really put an emphasis on trying to be understanding of how they feel so I can be a better friend or son. I re-did the test thinking I'd get something else since I went with more of a sincere and sensitive take but still ENTP. This video really helped me understand that the stereotypes are toxic and don't show the true light. I really want people to be happy and understood. I don't always express my feelings well but I care deeply for others.

Well, you nailed my entire life. This went above and beyond 'well thought out'. And you did it with the much over-looked framework of, 'we're all more alike than we are different', and i love you for it. Wish I could sub you twice.

Thanks so much for this comment! The outlook you mention is near and dear to me - cognitive type only goes so far and despite variations in the way we process information we are ultimately all still human and affected by life in similar ways.

I can't stop crying from the joy you've given me. Completely describes my entire life. Affirmation seeking. Drive to make others happy. Hell it's why I went into becoming a counselor myself. The little fear of my own masks and if it was a cover for being a sociopath. I just admitted to my partner last night I don't know if I really was my my mask presentation or if I was a sociopath that was just self trained to care... I've felt a weight lifted off me by your description of my entire inner monolog for my life. The constant planning and running social scenarios in my mind all day... I'm just dumbfounded and so grateful. I cannot wait to send this to my fiance and girlfriend.

Very appreciative of your thoughts, perspectives, explanations and understanding regarding ENTPs - I've been conflicted over being typed as an ENTP when often pages and some people consider ENTPs to be insensitive and incapable of caring about others emotions as well as confusion over my love of being around people but requiring periods alone with my thoughts, making me ponder whether I may be considered an introvert. Thanks for helping to clear up some misunderstandings regarding the type:) Can't believe this video has been out 6 months and I've only just watched it.

Wow. Excellent video, man. The presentation is phenomenal, and this is exactly the kind of stereotype-busting that's needed re: ENTPs. I'm an ENTP, but people often suspect I am an INFJ. For the longest time, I thought that I was an INTP; I couldn't stand the 'image' of ENTPs and felt that it was so far from my own self-perception. If I'd seen something like this years ago, my typing journey might have been easier.

Thank you mate! Yes the ENTP stereotypes have been a source of frustration to me for some time, so it means a lot to see ENTPs such as yourself responding so well to the video :) I've subscribed to your channel and look forward to checking it out properly soon!

I'm in a facebook group "True entp" , it was a getaway from the entp main group that is full of trolly people feeling they need to adhere to the stereotypical entp image.It's awfull. Every once in a while we get some in our group,and they choose not to abide to the rules. Claiming, ENTP's don't do rules :D They don't last long. There I really found a cool spot of likeminded people, like finding your tribe.It was a magnificent experience.

@felixmartinez1551 to me you are projecting your experience unto me maybe to help me avoid the negative feeling you have now and i appreciate that. But mbti isnt about finding who you are. Its about finding out about your preferences for how your brain processes information. I can tell through the congntive break down for entps Ne is the basic depiction for how i learn. But i can go through the top four functions and how they relate to me all i want to but if you want to doubt that my brain prefers Entp cognition i accept that is your position. I will say again that Entp is the mbti cognitive preference that i indetify with but it is not my indentity. We can agree to disagree on this point but i hope you have a great remainder of your day

I am a very healthy ENTP and have improved my weaker cognitive stacks to the conscious activated level of empathy and have discovered a great many healthy internal frameworks which allows me to stay happy and optimistic and unbothered even if someone is actually insulting me to my face. It helps a great deal that my confidence has reached the point that I do not care at all what people think of me, I actually no longer get embarrassed by anything anymore because my confidence no longer has anything to do with peoples validation or approval but it all is gained internally from my core values of being a wonderful helpful nice person and incredibly talented dancer and make everyone laugh and also people literally can't stay sad around me because my happiness and enthusiasm is very contagious and making people laugh and my joy while dancing and totally not caring what anyone thinks even dancing alone on a dance floor, pretty much everyone knows me at music events now even if I have never met them. Apparently every time I dance totally not caring what anyone thinks and having so much fun will dance completely alone with 50 people standing on the sides watching me it ends up showing people that its about having fun and that caring what people think isn't important and I end up motivating people to get off their seats and come dance and have fun. Anyways its crazy how accurate it fits me all the things you said about empath ENTP. I always am trying to improve the overall experience and enjoyment of people around me everywhere I go. Also if someone is sad and depressed about something that happened recently, I will literally drop everything I am doing, even having fun playing a video game to cheer them up because instantly cheering them up becomes the most important thing I could possibly be doing, I actually realized that when they are bummed I end up being bummed out too because I'm an Empath so I actually am protecting my self because when they cheer up then I cheer up. I am 100% naturally an entertainer at heart, I dance with led shoes and do light shows at festivals and I entertain people who are sitting at the outskirts with my dancing skills and unique style and footwork and I am learning Dragonstaff flow arts and want to entertain people that way too. Thanks for such a great video.

I relate a lot to the video as an ENTP. Self reflections, stress testing ideas and self in different scenarios, curiosity...all lead to more self awareness and more honest and real approach to self and life. I feel the empathy much more intensely when i watch movies.I mean i cry easily when i see someone suffers in the movie. Maybe i do not usually do that in real life cause i intentionally avoid dramatic/overwhelming situations. Great Video!!Much more nuanced and real interpretations than the rest of the internet about what is going on in an ENTP head.

15:29 ..... I was stunned for a few seconds when i heard this and had to rewind because of how much that describes something i have been working on. In the past few months I just realized that just being alive in this environment is by itself amazing, the fact we are so privileged to have the basic everyday stuff like having a comfortable bed, taking a shower, riding a bus and people can't appreciate them anymore because they are so used to it existing. I could ramble a lot more a bout this but that's kinda what this is about, I just decided, and I was capable of just deciding to feel good about little good things and just let them pile up and feel good about them, and just accept the bad stuff as inevitable and do my best to take every positive aspect of the thing and the opportunities it makes, and I regret nothing, I feel like I can not be emotionally affected by anything unless I devote myself into it, so I just don't react emotionally to stuff that would hurt me if I did. I went on a tangent a bit, hope someone learned something new EDIT: Amazing video, I can really relate

Yes! I absolutely love this. It's such a milestone for the ENTP (and indeed through different pathways any type) to achieve this kind of emotional peace and your points are totally valid - there is so much to be grateful for.

@@CognitivePersonality do you happen to have discord or something alike, i would like to hear more of your experience with entps since in this video you concentrated mainly on the emotional side of us, and did not really cover much besides that, and a lot of other typology channels have different definitions for how the functions manifest and are very concrete in their explanation without really describing the behaviour

I've been back and forth over the years as my understanding of cognitive functions changes. This video definitely gives me more perspective, and I really appreciate that. I don't resonate that much with type descriptions of ENTP online, or being this larger than life high energy quirky personality. I developed the problem of selective mutism as a kid because I could so easily feel overwhelmed by what was going on around me, and not wanting to say or do the wrong thing made me feel paralyzed. It especially would happen to me when there was any sort of predetermined social expectation, like being told in advance what to say or do in a situation. I used to watch other kids in my class, always wishing I knew the right things to say to be their friends, always feeling so bad and guilty for the kids I could see feeling left out, and I eventually learned to gravitate to those kids because I knew being their friend was at least something that I could do. I could befriend the lonely kids, and defend the bullied ones. I think when I realized I had that kind of power, I gained a little more confidence, but it's always been shaky. I didn't have awareness when I was young of how I came across to people, but I would consistently get feedback that was inconsistent about myself, and it did effect the way I perceived myself, to be called so sweet in one turn and too blunt in the next was confusing. I often felt my intentions were not understood, because I only ever have good intentions. It took me a very long time to learn that other people's insecurities were coming out in what they would say to me. For example, if I were to correct an adult as a child on some piece of misinformation, most often they would be annoyed or offended, I might be called a smart aleck, argumentative, know-it-all, or something like that, and I would explain that I only didn't want them to be embarrassed if they didn't know the true information when they're talking to people, but I never felt understood or believed about that. It was just so important to me because I never liked to see anyone feel humiliation or shame. I learned what stoicism meant when I was ten, and I understood it well because I taught myself to suppress my own feelings about a conflict and consider the other person. I know I can handle certain kinds of pain and discomfort, but I can't handle other people experiencing those things. Now it's just instinctive, and it has become more difficult for me to engage my own feelings without intense scrutiny, negativity, and disregard. I have been considering that is what Fi PoLR is really like for Ne/Fe. If I'm not understanding it correctly, I'd love to know!

Random thought I started having after I had been agreeing with everything you were saying for like 10+ minutes: If I offend someone and I realize it, but I know they’re normally forgiving of others/themselves for the same offense; it’s a complete friendship-turnoff. If I feel like the stark reality is that me and someone else just don’t see eye to eye and I know I’ve done my best to repair the relationship I quickly gather gasoline and matches and proceed to intentionally and offensively “burn the bridge”. I laugh when me and my friends call each other assholes but when I come face to face with a rude, inconsiderate person I lose all sense of my “why can’t we all be friends” nature. Great vid

Oh yes ENTPs often cannot abide Fe-hypocricy and very much expect the decency they show towards others to be reciprocated - in fact the whole 'Door Slam' thing is in my experience more of an ENTP phenomena, with some overlap with the INTJ type (which is of course the same type with reversed orientation). ENTPs often describe themselves, most of the time in jest, as blunt & logical but in reality they're extremely considerate and expect the same consideration from other people. Cheers for the great comment!
