The Snowtrooper armor is one of my favorite Stormtrooper armor sets of all time. It really helps that it’s based off the Phase II Clone Snowtrooper armor. I just have a thing for kamas and facial fabric armor.

I think the Range Troopers and other new Stormtrooper variants get unnecessary hate because "they don't fit in the original movies." And what did we see in those movies? The Death Star garrison? Those Stormtroopers on Cloud City? Those troopers that were protecting the shield generator on Endor? In my opinion the original trilogy didn't show that much of the Empire at full scale.

the Problem is by the time the empire had gathered these special forces the rebels were already lightyears away. this is Something many clone fanboys never seem to get because the clones would fare not better against the rebels because they odten chose the Engagement and rarely attack if it wasnt in their favor

I think another thing is a lot of these specialized troops were only meant for specific roles in specific situations. Like shore troopers wouldn’t be on every planet, or range troopers only being for special transportation protection needs, none of which you’d see normally in Anything we saw in the first 3 movies

Me too, I was always a fan of the Empire and I don't like the Rebels. Stormtroopers were supposed to be the best of the Empire, but we all see them fall after main character or even a side character barely sneezes at them. Less Rebel plot armour and many people would be surprised at how effective the Imperial troops can actually be. It would be interesting to see the stories of many Clone Wars Clone Commanders after Order 66 or even new Imperial Stormtroopers. But no, let's just rinse and repeat the usual Rebel character with a 10 inch thick plot armour that'll wipe out entire battalions of Imperials per minute. I'd love to see the Imperial side of things.

@@RyanC__ because they got lazy, they figured out the model of what involves the least effort and sells best and they continue to pump out turds based on that model. And when they see people actually get creative (i.e Star Wars Theory and his Vader series) they do anything and everything to stop/handicap their efforts, because that would show how good and creative SW stories can actually be, versus the copy n paste stuff we get now. Main character on a revenge/rescue quest one man army/small team takes on the impossible odds and saves the whole galaxy. That's why I like fan made content. Well thought out, creative, interesting and most importantly made by people who are passionate about it and love what they're doing. This clearly reflects in the results of fan made content.

@@scoutman66 as if Disney hasn't undermined the franchise enough. SWCW S7, Mando S1, BB S1, (also Rebels to a certain degree), yes they're great, but rest of Disney content I just can't swallow. And about the Stormtroopers, we see them getting at least a bit humanised in the Rebels where Ezra infiltrates the Academy or in Bad Batch (I know it's the elite squad but they're human troopers, not clones nevertheless). We also see it in Mando where he delivers the supplies to the base. We don't see some murderers or some idiots who can't point their blaster straight, we see your average humans, encased in armour yes but still humans, cheering at a sight of vital supplies. I would be really interested in seeing a Stormtroopers story.

Just another reminder that First Order Stormtroopers were the only good things about the Sequels. They looked truly fantastic and like a much more modernized Stormtrooper corp. And I LOOOOOOVE the Snowtrooper armor variant from Solo. One of the absolute best.

Great video and I love to see more of the lore pre-ESB explored. My only minor thing is the whole "display of rank" on armor thing- ony the Snowtrooper commander has a displayed rank badge, standard Snowtroopers do not. What folks confuse for a rank bar is a power cell indicator as defined in the ESB Visual Dictionary from the late 90s.

The Snow Troopers no doubt probably seen as unnecessary until actual battles were wage on vital worlds alongside hyperspace lanes needed for the war effort. The sheer hostility of some of these worlds rose the need for both warmth and mobility for organic soldiers, but no doubt the Droid Army didn’t do so well in the deep snowstorm and feet’s of snow.

The Marines or some spec ops organization of the US military did some research into the minimum requirements to stay warm in below zero environments. If you can keep the torso, hands, and feet warm, the body will just circulate the thermal energy around with no effects of the cold.
