Did some of that trial as it is part of the Backwards Bill Trail. We saw the Jeep folks setup there for EJS near Whipout Hill - now that is an obstacle that has high scare factor. Great to see both of you out together and when my wife comes with me it is awesome like this year at EJS. If Regina keeps taking her Jeep on these harder trails I think the back bumper needs upgrading or it is going to get pummeled coming off ledges etc.

We decided to do this trail based on your assessment of the trail. At 15:48 you gloss over a part of the trail that some would consider unnerving. You didn't show the pitch and roll at that point of the trail, which we noticed was 21° roll and then combine that with the downhill portion that put you at a 26° pitch. That combo was freakin scary!! We did it and we prayed the whole time. I think maybe showing something like that in more detail would be helpful to those that are watching your videos looking for ideas for trails to conquer in Moab. We did it, with no issues, but it definitely freaked us out at first.

Regena reassures us that it is okay to do this, I can't explain it. Thank you!!!! P.S. Can we get a gathering with Regena and Cara (Ozark Overlanding)??? Let's build a Barbie who goes overlanding in Joe's jeep… I did that in the 70's.

This was an enjoyable video! Great scenery. Great narration. Great editing (I dare say outstanding!). Seeing Regena's expressions as she went down that obstacle. Being able to express what she was feeling while doing it was fun, exciting, and SO relatable! Great job on conquering that (and Top of the World the day before!). I'm sure her confidence has skyrocketed when it comes to those obstacles. But probably what hurt most was saying that Brad was probably right about lift and tires. LOL Either way, please keep these videos coming! We visited Moab last year for the first time after hiking Rim 2 Rim in Grand Canyon. We didn't have our Jeep, so we went with Epic 4x4 Adventures and drove a Kawasaki side by side. It was a blast, so seeing and talking about the trails we did brought back LOTS of fond memories from our trip last year! Thank you for all you both do! Hey brad! I stopped by said hi at overland expo in colorado last year. Happy to see you two do this trail! I took my wife, and her friend and husband on it for Thanksgiving couple years ago...we found it to be a fantastic ride like you two! However, when i read your title, I thought for sure you were going to be talking about the "Tippy Spot" an off camber (maybe 24/26 degrees?) section just after burnt toast (the section you drive through two rocks) we were so scared..we backed out. I am on 37"s. 2.5" lift in a JT and had a tent on top, the length of the JT helps, but being off camber and having turn and be so top heavy, it was scariest ive done. You two do that part or drive around? thanks!

It was an out and back, at least the way we did it, and the time we took to do the trail doesn't equate to the way most people will do it...we were filming so it took as a lot longer than it would take the average person. And the shelf road was not too bad, just at the beginning and nothing crazy. Brad and I both hate shelf roads too, so I get it!

Great job Regina. Hey Brad what fenders do you have on your rig?
About WHY the Merrimack and the Monitor. There is a point on the trail you can stand between them both. The shape of the rocks where they face each other look like the bows of two ships. Yes, it does take a little imagination, but you can definitely see them as ships heading your way.

IMHO, 2 door
@TrailRecon Жыл бұрын
There is no right answer here, both have their pros and cons. On this rail, with the steep climbs and decent a longer wheelbase (generally) has the advantage. In tight techies sections a 2 door is better suited. I prefer a longer wheelbase... that's just me.
