Im learning the game from watching people play but i dont get why he didnt just start shooting??? He had a gun yet it seemed like he was as trying so hard to dodge

@@TheBuckweat33 Probably just panic but the gun also knocks you back when you shoot so it's best to make sure you're in a safe spot when you shoot it. You could easily knock yourself into danger shooting the wrong way or even if you aim the right way there could be something you didn't see behind you and you'd knock yourself into that. He didn't really have time to make sure he was aiming in the right direction when he came out of that door, he had to get away asap so it was probably the right call.

@@darkwatershadow yup, the man eater was behind him, so his options were to turn towards the instant kill monster that's moving towards him (turning requires moving), or get away from it. If he had shot blindly after leaving the cave, he would have launched himself into the man eater. Moving away also meant he could hold down the button instead of having to attack immediately after the animation was over.

@@thomegatherion924 Yeah I played a lot of the Endless because I was so bad at the Spikes one, BUT once you get a hang of the spikes one that shit is insane.. Going into Seraph with 170+ spikes and 170+ attack is crazy in itself, but being able to elevator yourself every floor against seraph is also super op and it's nice since you can have an insanely tight/streamlined deck and 1 or 2 banner units and be good..

Yeah I was like "obviously the game wants you to bomb it again. At least check the journal entry that just popped up on screen." But this is how egg is, I'm sure we'll see him explore that part of the game again in 50-100 episodes, right after he looks at the middle door under the caveman boss or brings the crown from vlad's castle to excalibur in underwater china.

That first death in the nightmare tunnel was definitely a case where Spelunky 1 muscle memory screwed you. The immediate response to move/jump away from the maneater instead of nope back into the door is completely understandable having played so much Spelunky 1. Scare you away from the door with a maneater so you're trapped between 2 maneaters and a boomerang lord with witch doctor ghosts homing in on you. Some Derek Yu troll engine stuff right there. Also grats man on becoming an actual human father.

They should probably patch in a small safety-zone around cavern exists so that you can't emerge literally right next to a maneater like that (or god forbid - any enemy with a ranged weapon). Difficult is good, but you have no way to prepare for that.
