12:06 No he didn't mate. To clarify: Eren Jaeger is perhaps the greatest protagonist not gonna lie. His confession to Armin and his FREEDOM scene pretty much is a 1:1 parallel to Walter White's character ending. It was a selfish desires to ruin flat the entire world to feel just a glimpse of his idea of freedom, the freedom he saw in Armin's book. His mind never grew, he always had child-like mentality, which is why he admits too that he is "an idiot" who had godlike powers. His lies and pretense of using the Rumbling to "protect his friends and Paradis" but the truth was that he did it for himself. He knew it was wrong, morally and literally, but he is "a slave to freedom." Unreal character writing that no one will ever see in fiction ever again. We advise you to re-watch his confession to Armin during the ending scene. He DID NOT do it for his friends, BUT for for HIMSELF, and HIMSELF ONLY. The path he took was the only result of the world behind after his death unintentionally. He just kept moving forward until Mikasa makes the choice to kill him.

Literally. I hear so many people try and defend eren saying things like "well he was just doing it to protect his friends", like uh no, have you ever paid attention to the story lol. He might have went into it wanting to save his friends but just because people do things for a noble cause doesn't mean they are automatically forgiven when they take the thing 10 thousand times overboard to satisfy their childish desires. Most people have no problem with understanding the evil in thanos and Walter white even though both are pretty much the same way as eren where you can argue that they did it to protect the ones they love but in reality they just ended up doing it for themselves. It's just weird how people don't understand eren, I think it's got everything to do with the crazy character attachment people get specifically with AOT.

@@ScrappleDapple fun fact: after eating the hammer titan he starts folding his hair exactly as she did and we see other examples of him acting like the past holders of hist titans wich means the sing he said was happening to armin is LITERALY happening to him

1 - Eren never changed. 2 - The genocide was caused by Ymir. Ymir represents the earth, in Nordic mythology, because he is a titan, who by dying: blood for example became the "sea". 3 - To destroy the founding titan, it must be revealed, it is also representative of the Ouroboros or in Japanese culture, is the yokai "Gashadokuro". 4 - If he had not taken part of the population, on the island, of Paradise (an equally symbolic representation. As Madagascar, which should have had a city for the Jews, which had been planned by Hitler. ect: here are some examples of information from the series. I wrote it quickly. P.S. To emphasize, without Eren, who managed to divert the titan, he would no longer have land. Note that Eren (Odin and Loki). Represents in what a way, even if it is Falco, hence his name and Armin (by speech and by his passive actions), represents the eagle, who fights the serpent. Eren also represents this god, who fights him, in certain mythology, such as for example, in Egyptian mythology, where Seth, helped by his brother Osiris (Armin), fights the serpent, so that the day dawns again. I forgot to say, that Eren couldn't kill his friends, because they were the only ones who could kill the Titan, because it requires special technology, which they were able to use against the titans.

This is why I love making a video like this, the incredible discussions and knowledge I learn from people like you. This is AWESOME! Thank you for explaining this I’m blown away

If you think Eren never changed then you had your brain pluged out during chapters 1 to 132. Imagine having to ignore even eren's INNER THOUGHS just to defend the ending 😅 Its more easy to see that Isayama made a retcon on chapter 139. But i guess Isayama fans think he is a GOD who cant do no wrong

@ScrappleDapple Thank you so much !!! I added information below the comment for lain. @lain5858 Sorry for this extremely long comment...: And I may have repeated myself a lot, but we must avoid, that everyone is the same. Or that people absolutely want their ideal world, with the same "lifestyle". That would make the world bland... On the other hand, obviously it depends on what we see or what you say about evolving. Mentally, he has not evolved (see my argument below). On the other hand, if you're talking about size, yes: The reason why, it hasn't changed. This is because unconsciously, he already had views of the future, which in the case of a cycle, or a continuous day, amounts to seeing its past. And I never said he wasn't bad. But removing information or simply reading a person on the surface is like doing nothing... Or understanding nothing. In addition, you have to stop idealizing a story, according to your tastes, because even if it is thanks to the fans that a Story advances, it will never really be able to satisfy everyone. And you're better off, because by dint of wanting to satisfy, the Stories become more and more bland (in appearance). Because in fact, they are currently less visible and more hidden. But I can understand why you think he's changed. What, that I should have (I forgot) noted, that he gets more and more depressed when he sees that the inevitable is happening... Otherwise, despite appearances, I'm not a fan. So, believing that someone, who has a point of view, who is serving, very banal, in this case for some fans. Doesn't mean it doesn't have research behind it. Besides, I would like to point out that some people already have an adult mentality, and therefore do not change. This does not mean that the person does not grow, or cannot receive education or knowledge, different over time. But, that also doesn’t mean that a person doesn’t evolve. Also note, on people with trauma like in Attack on Titan, where the Eldians were only able to rest at the end. Depending on your situation and what you hang out with, you can be mentally old without actually being so. This is also a big problem for some children, who have to play with the archetype, which is presented before them. So the child is not like that. That doesn't mean he's not a child. For example: an uncle or an aunt may be younger than their nephews, even though we have this idea that the grandmother has all her children before. Which is still not the case. So, as I said Eren: in addition to being in survive mode, is pushed by himself, to already fight mentally, which he will have to fight later. And so, even if he has a ceremonial mentality, it is not said, and that it is not his future mentality. For example: he is impulsive, he is still impulsive in prison and at the end. He wants to save his friends (see paragraph below). And he wants to save the world, which, I admit, is not very clear, if people don't dig. Otherwise I add, this part, a little repetitive, lives on from the first, but I added some information: Eren is a representation of Odin, Loki (Seth is more telling). Eren's goal is to kill the Original Titan. This is also why he locks his people in the center of the island of Paradise. This island is Madagascar. Hitler intended to lock up the Jews there. The Ouroboros is the snake that eats its tail. It represents the cycle of life. This time it represents the power of nature. Ymir is also the giant Ymir, who formed the earth, the waters, the rocks with his teeth. She carries a vase [symbol linked to Mary, in the Bible (when Armin represents Jesus, moreover he has a reference to a painting, when they save him, transforming him into a Titan. And unlike Eren , he is passive, but excellent in speech, even as a strategist. He will therefore act in the end). And falls into the lake, which is below the tree, or in front of the tree. The bottom of the lake = hell, and therefore represents death, and life (see resurrection). This is where the power-hungry King destroys the earth. Ymir is accused of freeing the pigs from the enclosure. It is a parallel with the unicorn of ancient tapestry, where the unicorn, symbol of chaos, is locked in an enclosure. And who this time is freed. And symbol of the Goddess Marishiten, a goddess who is prayed to by ninjas in Japan due to her invisibility. And Eren represents at the same time, in his final titan form: Gashadokuro. And is also a parallel with death. But in History, he only educates a people, to fight the titans. Even making them erase their memories, to believe in the war of Men against the titans. Oh, and I forgot, how the Founding Titan represents the world. And for example, in the Bible, Man is made of water and earth. The Founding Titan takes everything in its path. The only door that remains in its path, just represents the lack of time that Men have to “react”. Showing, that he was both not conscious, but also that he could not do anything. Moreover, in the animation, the earth is covered in blood, when Armin releases Eren's spirit, to avoid another return of the scourge, like Ymir, wants to destroy the world of the King, who built this new world. And another time in the anime, when Eren speaks to Falcon, which by the way represents the falcon which attacks the snake. The tree of life appears. I just noticed that when Reiner tries to kill himself, it's Falcon who tries, when he speaks it. It made me think of Eren's mentality at that moment. When at the same time, Eren who represents Odin, and the warrior who will trigger Ragnarök, manipulates Falcon at this moment, entrusts him with one, who calls the team that he must stop it. Triggering, a message, which says to kill him. Going, until the end, where he will say, in form, in a few come out to kill him.
