I have heard stories, but never experienced it. I think quality is a big factor, but also these types of major failures are due to other factors in the brake system.

Remember that the pivot pin is plastic for a reason: So in case it detaches and comes loose it doesn't destroy your entire clutch assembly which the metal options will totally do! Also the subframe reinforcement. It is not a mod but it is a must if you are changing your rear suspension. Virtually all models will crack: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mn_LepKtoquahck

Hey mate, can you recommend some aftermarket headlights? My e46 came with stock halogen lighting set up and I hate it; are there any good aftermarket options? I've seen retrofit lab has a conversion kit with good reviews, but I'd rather install all new headlights. Maybe buy used xenon headlights from another e46? Then again, Im not sure of how much of a pain it would be to make the switch. And once again, great video, I'll start saving up 700 bucks for the oil pump, lol

Yup it’s possible I did it on my 2001 bmw 325i basically what you need is the full assembly from a used car I got mine on eBay . New bulbs and to get it reprogrammed (coded to be Xenon . It cost me 1000 to do this but I opened up the headlight and got new gaskets , angel eyes, lens,bulbs and coded at the dealer

One thing worth mentioning, is... for the love of god... give the car a service with some good oil before you start driving it hard or modifying it. An E46 will look after you if you look after it!

He means that you shouldn't add that much power until you've upgraded other parts like suspension and brakes.

Drilled rotors provide a marginal improvement in braking that 99% of people won't notice, and they crack and fail sooner. Instead, invest in good tires. Shocks (and struts) are tuned for a certain spring rate (unless fully adjustable). So if you change shocks, you *need* to also change to matching springs. Plastic impellers don't fail under normal circumstances, and if they do break, they don't cause any other damage, but a metal one can gouge the block or jam the WP pulley. Plastic impellers also don't rust and they move water just as well as metal. Supercharger is definitely NOT essential. Essential would be a user interface improvement, like tint or a shift knob. And if you're taking out the clutch, I would argue for a single mass flywheel!

Slotted rotor, yes. Drilled, no. Not for a daily driver. Can you daily a drilled? Of course. Is it a good choice for longevity and ease of turning after they wear? No. They warp MUCH sooner than a slotted.
