I dated a girl that played D&D. The one who is hosting it is the one telling the story but all of the other players are the ones helping to write the story. The one who is hosting will make up a bunch of scenarios to help the players achieve the goal that they choose at the beginning of the game and the rolling of the dice influences how they get to such* goals. It's like a bunch of quests within an RPG game, but at a table with people

Here's how DnD works: The dungeon master (dm) has a secret plan of a story or scenario he puts his players into, but it is up to them how they go through it. Example: The dm hast established that the king has called for the heroes to come to his castle. You come to a crossroads. What do you do? - I want to go to the castle Do you know the way? - I remember looking at a map earlier. Roll a die to check if you remember *rolls a 1* (1 is utter failure) You have no idea which way leads to the castle. -Crap...I look for a sign or if I can see the castle or someone I can ask. and so on

Thank you guys for what you do and share. I am 63 and new to weight lifting. I hired an online coach a few months ago but not too happy because she has not contacted me once to find out about who I am and my lifestyle. She sent us a workout program and macro amount but that is it. We have an app. Now after 16 weeks she wants us all to start over with a new program. But I have really felt like I was on my own at the gym. I have been learning from you guys some and other people that influence us on line. If I can save and buy one of your workouts which one would you suggest? Question is do you guys train people online and how do you get to know your client and keep connected to them? I have been consistent with the lifting and even bought a gym for at home. I am looking forward to doing this routine for life and enjoy weight lifting so far. I still have more belly fat to loose . I feel I would like to loose another 10 lbs. but am loving my muscles coming out.

Good show guys, enjoyed it especially the chatter on DnD. Sounds to my infantile British ears that Adam is saying GayMaster...anyway.... The advice for the last caller was invaluable. I have only recently become aware of why my left shoulder is always tight, develops knots etc....because it is shrugging/shrugged up often for no reason and not just when lifting weights. Sitting down all day in finance for 15 years staring at a laptop has ruined my body, and led to cervical spine ruptures, funnily enough on the left side! Slowly getting fixed, thanks to your MAPS programs and advice.

I saw a tiktok video where this guy turned his basement into a dungeons and dragons room. they made a plexi glass table with a tv under it so they could do moving lava game fields or rivers and stuff. On a low-carb diet, salt intake seems to be quite a personalised thing, too. I have been a carnivore for almost 2 years now (age 23). *Easily* one of the best decisions of my life, and this is coming from a strict "whole food", unprocessed, protein- & mineral- & vitamin-rich diet with the "healthy fats" and plants etc. etc.... But SALT is something that I personally find benefits from using liberally, whereas others do not use it at all. There seems to be a lot of factors that determine individual salt needs even on a low-carb diet, that is.

Sal, I'm feeling your pain on watching TV shows because your kids asked you to. My 13 year old son at the time asked me to watch Breaking Bad. I knew it was inappropriate yet I watched it with him. And from there it only got worse. We then watched sopranos, and right now he is 15 and we are watching game of thrones. Let me tell you, there is no awkwardness that can compare to a mom watching strippers or a sex scene with her teenage boy!
@irisk934

The positives far outweigh the bad though. It gives us a common ground of topics to discuss that are neutral and interesting. those are rare when you are trying to raise a teenager

Just hit a new milestone on my training, finally had to increase the weight of the exercises I'm doing. Doing four sets of ten reps and finally saw more progress after a few weeks along improving technique. Would love a program to see if I'm on the right path or doing too much, I play tennis four times a week an hour each session and I'm feeling very sore lately. Saw progress anyway but would appreciate the wisdom of better programs!!!

The game master prepares a story ahead of time for the players to interact with. The game master plays the role of all the non player characters (NPCs). And they essentially create conflict for the players to resolve. Each player character has stats that determine what they are good at, but at the end of the day the goal is to create a compelling story together

The dungeon master creates the iverarching story. They tell you what you find what you see what enemies you fight wht friendly you meet. The players are free in many ways to do wht they want. The DM can tell you you find a small town it hs these things what do you guys want to do. One decides to find a weapons and armor shop another decides to go rob the bank or speak to thw mayor or go to a bar and get drunk. The dm has to be on their toes and make it work. It is such an amazingly fun and deep game. It can take months or you can do a one shot game!

Kinda funny that a few episodes ago you’re (rightfully) blasting social media and how bad it is for young people and it isn’t real connection but then making fun of D&D here which is played in person on a tabletop 😂 Also, the stats on lower education as related to mental illness are interesting. Lower educated folks tend to suffer less from anxiety and depression and they tend to be more religious. Would love to hear that discussion.
