I think Bhutan, as the last Buddhist Kingdom, has every right to protect itself in this way. The Nepalese were brought to Sikkim by the British and out-populated the native peoples there and this led to the end of a rich lineage of Buddhist practitioners. As you have mentioned in this film, which steers away from religious belief systems, Bhutan has taken Sikkim's annexation to heart.

Why did Journeyman Pictures find it necessary to publish this same video under more than one pejorative title? And where is the full discussion of the Bhutanese side of the story? What has happened is incredibly sad, and yet this video fails to have an honest discussion from all sides--about what a transition to democracy would mean if so many foreigners have been allowed to settle that they could destroy the framework of the country, its government, and the nature of the society that has been built. A similar story already played out next door to Bhutan and so there was good reason for concern. There is plenty of ugliness and responsibility to go around, but the approach here is not that of a documentary but of propaganda.

The way is presented is very biased, it does not take into consideration the Bhutanese perspective correctly. Nepalese people have been invading Bhutan looking for work for many years and especially in the south they have been outnumbering the local bhutanese to the extent that they have been claiming independence though terrorist attacks and guerilla warfare. I think the last independent Tibetan kingdom is perfectly right in trying to defend its country and culture.

Bhutanese didn't expel Nepali(lhotsampas), it was Jigme singye wangchuk and other political elites of Bhutan who did that out of fear that they will lose their hierarchical political dominance instead of democrasy. Northern Bhutanese don't have a bad relationship with Lhotsmpas(southern Bhutanese)

Any way i found that these days bhutan have changed.. but i will like to see all cultures in bhutan including Wangchuks(Tibetan), Sherchops, Nepalese, n other small small minority ethnic orgins peoples. they were given Bhutanese citizenship in first citizenship act of bhutan. though I do not know whether thr were any illegal or not. regarding sikkim, kingdom of sikkim was set up on lepcha n kiratis land. sikkim had always same demography with eastern nepal when thr was no sikkim( till 1642) or nepal ( 1768) with same terrain. original Rong ( lepcha) n tsong( limboo) n few magars. a part of this teritory went with tibbetan in 1642 n rest with north indian( shah king of Rajasthani descent as nepal) in 1768. Lepchas r also found in eastern nepal but not in tibbet. only diff was that when some kirati n tibbetan origin tribes from newly formed nepal migrated to sikkim with same ethics they were half indianised culturally by north indian migrant who founded nepal in 1768 just like Lepchas were half tibbetised culturally by tibbetan though Limboos retained original identity both in sikkim n eastern nepal. actually both nepal n sikkim was founded by outsider in kirati teritory. even bhutans plain area was captured from Koch, mech n low hill from lepcha
