When talking about making pseudo-end nodes like the Valencia one, you talked about just holding 100% of the provinces in that node, but that doesn't exclude other nations from pulling trade out of that node if they are downstream, in this case Genoa, they will have a small amount of trade power to divert a small amount of trade towards them. But in another example, like the Constantinople trade node, which can easily be made into an end node, because it only has Ragusa as the outgoing trade route, but if you control every Ragusa trade province, then you effectively stops anyone from pulling trade out of Constantinople, as you control the trade downstream.
@tigrosabertooth4757
@tigrosabertooth4757 29 күн бұрын
Sometimes it works, sometimes not. If you're russia, and control 100% of novgorod and baltic trade nodes, there's always british and lubeck merchants, pulling trade through both "end-nodes"

I know this is not trade tip but it is about trade companies: Shipyards give you full naval force limit unlike regimental camps. I wanted to write this because while building shipyards in the macro builder it says that it will only give fraction of the actual number.

I usually build them from province view, besides you need to check those provinces one by one anyway, just to check if they have church or regimental camp for removal.

To get a merchant you need 51% of the trade power from provinces in the node to come from your trade company. Other sources, modifiers and (your) total trade power don't matter. Unused trade power is not exactly wasted. You deny other countries possibility to collect that trade value. It goes to next nodes. You just don't have any saying as to which one. If you don't really care (because there is only one or you just control both) it's fine.

So, fun fact: if you have 100% of the trade power in a node, you don’t need to keep a merchant there. It will automatically flow towards your home trade node no matter what.
@Kyren01

Not that easy. Trade gets multiplied by each merchant you have steering.
@maxpont8989
@maxpont8989 29 күн бұрын
On the contrary, keeping a merchant there will ensure that the trade flowing is increased through steering and having more nations steering will increase your end value. The only node you need 100% of is your end node, for all others having other nations steering with you will actually increase your income

At the start, describing end-trade node and non-end-trade nodes should probably also briefly mention origin nodes, which do exactly what they sound. They have nothing flowing into them and only flow out to the next non-end-trade node. These origin nodes only have local value.

Each production development is 0.2 trade goods produced so 13 translates to 2.6. You have a +210% production bonus so you have to multiply by 3.1 not "210%". 2.6 * 3.1 = 8.06 which checks out. How do the nations around the Malakka node compare to the European ones? Japan can also be pretty decent I think if you colonize the Pacific and West America. Maybe chomp into Korea and China as well.

I'm curious about the whole england and Italy being the 'sinks' of the game thing I know consumption has historically been towards Europe but how did this play out? Was it actually that all trade only went west ward? Then what went eastward? Just merchant after merchant taking his profit home? While in EU5 i do want Europe to have buffs, having the direction of these nodes being changeable should exist. Like, I want to make Russia the centre of consumption perhaps, or maybe Germany. Why not

Lübeck's superpower, thx to mission tree, very fast expansion into "eastern europe" which allows them to trade company for example teuts, poland, hungary, lith or russia area, and pushes there trade company merchants and income massive. On the other side, there jump into the best end node, english-channel is very short and easy to do, so they can tunnel the "east Europa" trade perfectly. For the HRE, simply trade league on the "free cities" and you are fine, and get a 25% share on this western Europa area, even with zero conquest there, spend your AE better on Netherlands, or in east Europa. The fastest i did as Lübeck was a "Octopuse" Trade company in 1510, which reaced persia main node as trade company, had trade company in crimea and georgia, this node were Novogrod->muscovy/white sea/lithuiana->kazan->persia/crimea/georgia And I were ready for war with ottoman, to get there "trade company" areas (hungary trade node were already a trade company from me over a teuts->poland->hungary octupuse). Map looks ugly, but the income is worth the "lines" of trade company. Also, i pick always merc ideas first for this kind of playstyle, to transfer the income into armies into conquest. p.s. also missed the part about "trade cities" which boost your income massive.

First, many hugs my Latin/Romance brother, don’t take my wallet please. 1- you forgot to mention that there is a PENALTY MODIFIER if you are collecting from more than 1 node. That is the main reason for you losing all the trade value, not caravan power. 2- you forgot to mention in your Aragon trade node example, that you have 100% BECAUSE you have 100% of the provinces in the regions after that that (downstream). Having 100% of Aragon alone does not give you 100%. For example, if you want 100% in Constantinople, then you need to conquer all the provinces in Ragusa node. 3- you didn’t go into detail on what you should put in a trade company. Generally speaking to maximize a trade company output, you don’t want to put all provinces in the trade company. You want enough for the merchant and let the rest have bonus modifier from trade company buildings etc and cost less gov capacity
