@clouddueitt6577
@clouddueitt6577 Ай бұрын
@@toomeyeh1I dont think he would be an mvp as a starter, but I think he would be a better rated role player than people are acting like he would with a decent chance behind a non cornerstone. Tyus and Tre Jones have roles in the league and get real minutes. Micic is a similarly developed passer, has more range and may not be as great of an on ball defender as Tyus but he is fairly better all around than Tre. All 3 play similar styles. Why are people trying to shove Micic aside?
@toomeyeh1
@toomeyeh1 Ай бұрын
@@clouddueitt6577 because he was literally shoved aside when he played in the NBA? Not that hard to understand and definitely not something that's unprecedented. Like buddy above said there's Sasha Venzekov, but do you 'membah the other next "European LaBern James" nikoloz tskitishvili (another soft bodied eastern European player with a jump shot🙏😩) or darko Milicic (badass name btw) ... Or further back with Fredrick Weiss in the classic era😬 there's obviously great European players but there are plenty 'o busts too. I don't think that should be controversial

Side note: Always knew Kendrick Nunn could be a star somewhere. He was a key piece on that 2020 Heat team as a rookie. But injuries kept getting in the way - he would get signed to a team that has established stars, then get injured again. The potential was always there. Glad things worked out for him. Here's to things working out for Micic too

It's not his playstyle, he can't adapt to their offense, and he needs more minutes to play, he just loses his rhythm if he don't play. As we saw in the in the Olympics he is very capable and useful player to have when used correctly and when he actually plays.

I haven't watched the video yet but as a hornets fan our coach had planned to have him be a factor for our team this season but during pre-season and the first few games of the season Micic played horrible and played himself out of the rotation. Even watching the magic vs hornets game where he played, the magic's commentators were talking about how Micic was not the same player they saw last year (He had two great games against them last year), mentioning that he looked out of shape. He did get a chance the other night when Tre Mann was out and Micic hit three 3s.

idk idt it’s really fair to speculate that he’s sabotaging his NBA career on purpose lol. he’s just not good enough for the NBA, he fell out of the Hornets rotation for natural reasons. he’s never gotten close to league average in any efficiency metric, even in the 30 games playing 27 mpg in Charlotte he shot 43% (not good) and 29% from 3 (bad), he really hadn’t “established himself as a solid NBA role player” nor was he “so effective for Charlotte” like you say in the video. he’s not fast enough for the NBA, especially on defense he’s a massive liability…like just look at any of his advanced stats, he’s been a negative box plus/minus & had a negative VORP his entire time in the NBA, including last season in Charlotte w bigger minutes
@andylee5342

It sucks he hasn’t performed well and it’s also a bit of wishful thinking/many things need to go well for hornets to be a playin or playoff team. He does have a team option next season where I’m sure Charlotte will decline that as of now so he’s technically not under contract next season.

I just don't see it. Besides this youtuber hyping him up with his words, his stat line is pretty mid. Even his best most miracle performance in the NBA was just decent and not even a playoffs game. And his olympic performance just proved my point. 8 points? If you're selling me that he's the second best player on the team after Jokic, and he only scored 8 points? That's just not good. He's not tanking on purpose, he's just not good enough. Maybe the teams in the NBA who gave him a shot and then passed on him know better than this youtuber.

I know it’s difficult for you guys to understand as you aren’t watching the Euro League but his talent is undeniable. I think this is just a case of a player a) not mashing well with the US and the culture overall b) lacking confidence. At the beginning at the Thunder he was casted aside and I think not being the first option really hurt his confidence. Now he is trying to force himself through his bad form by shooting as much as possible to regain his confidence but by forcing it he failed, got less minutes, tried even harder, failed, got even less minutes, repeat the cycle. It happens a lot in football I could name players such as Jadon Sancho as an example. Players need confidence in their abilities and Micic right now has next to none. I hope he recovers.

Havent got a chance to watch this video but it's hilarious that he starts balling in the NBA the games after this video drops. Big reason being that he has an center for the first time in his Charlotte career so the PNR is actually viable now and this has opened up the entire court for him. Now that he can drive with less pressure, dish it to a big man that can finish, and has room to pop out for three, his shooting percentages are up and his on court impact has nearly tripled as of late. Plus he is still playing with a bunch of G league players (and Nick Richards).

Secondary playmaker. The Nuggets lack one and that's why they stagger Westbrook and Jamal together since Julian and CB can't really playmake for others. 2 ball handlers able to run PnR is really use on today NBA, but still looking at how good Westbrook is playing having Micic would stun the grow of CB and Julian dribbling and playmaking ability. You want those 2 to learn how to play good basketball. The Nuggets do not need Mici anymore because of Westbrook. What the Nuggets need is front court. PF or C because Sario isn't the answer, R.Holmes is out for the season. Vlatko is out for the season, Nnaji is a certified BUM who shouldn't even be on NBA or Gleague. They need front court. They need a player who can set up strong screens and rebound the basketball put pressure on OPP drivers. Robin Lopez, Biyombo,Tony Bradley. Players who are there for this reasons. set up a mean screen...clean the board...Make attacking the paint hard...score only if they are under the rim or on a lob pass. No dribble, no posting, no face ups. Just get the ball, keep it up and put it on the basket. Biyombo,Lopez and Bradley got solid legs so they play hedge defense and run back into the play afterwards.

hornets new coach was celtics assistance head coach, so there are lots of similarities between hornets this season with celtics. They both use shooting guard or small f to handle the ball, they both put less importance on point guard, they both shoot a lots of threes. I think thats why this former europe mvp player is struggling this season.

Thunder never should’ve traded this guy for an old man who was too scared to shoot the ball, he was a great facilitator off the bench not a lot of turnovers, good team player off the bench, traded him for cap space but could’ve used him against Dallas, don’t know anything about him in charlotte but I wouldn’t want to be there either

Vasa has just been extremely unlucky with the teams that landed him. He is easily capable of being one of the best playmakers in the NBA. Yeah, he's no high flyer, nor is he anything like Gary Payton on the defensive end, but in a decent system where he would be surrounded by good shooters, he can be extremely valuable. That being said, I still have wet dreams of him coming back to Efes.

@ no need for arrogance. The USA embarrasses euro more years than not. When the USA does lose the international squad has nba stars on the roster. No European roster comprised of exclusively European players has ever beaten the USA head to head. Sure there’s European and international stars in the NBA. But they come into the NBA young and prove themselves in the NBA. Tony Kukoc 22 Luca 19 giannis 18 jokic 19 vlade 21. Look at the most recent Olympic gold game. France had 7/12 nba players on their roster and still lost by 11. It’s just not close. Btw of those 7 included one 1st overall pick and a multi time DPOY.

@@theodorekrause9058 Well, Serbia would have beaten USA in Olympics if there wasn't many bad decisions from the refs. And mind you, USA doesn't play vs Europe, but vs national teams from Europe, which are many. Euroligue players are generally more disciplined players, with basketball knoledge more built in them. NBA players relly more on individual atletic abillity, which is, undeniably, on their side. For me, Euroligue has better basketball, because it's significantly more mind game. (And players are more challenged, because they are always held accountable by their coaches).

@@vojkanjovanovic7940NBA players are far more talented. And Serbia would of beaten the U.S because of Jokic, a player in the NBA lol. Not to mention the fact that the NBA is played very differently to FIBA rules and that puts American players at a disadvantage because they have to adapt.
