Yesterday, today, and forever; this song always makes me cry......I love how they look into each other's face in order to synchronize their beautiful harmony......Don has such a clear, crisp voice, and Phil has that sweet, soulful, sultry voice.......I never met you here on earth, but I will meet you on the other side.......and, there will be joy and whole lot of singing......

So emotional. Especially when Phil pulls Don for a hug.

There hasnt been anyone since Phil Everly that can harmonize as well as he did. Many came close but never reached his level of talent.

@lenoraantunes7638 - In #04 of this series of clips, Felice Bryant explains that her husband Boudleaux would intentionally write music for Phil's highest pitch because he felt that the sound was as pure as a Stradivarius violin. Later, after the breakup in '73, Phil's solo albums wonderfully illustrate his rare musicality. The strength and force of his voice and his amazing breath control (oh, the irony) are very powerful. He has a remarkable gift for finding the tonal variations within and around the melody. Don has that too, but in their duet career, Phil always harmonizes to Don's lead which allows the listener to hear Don's gift. In Phil's solo albums, he sings the melody and we hear that same gift in his range. Just listen to what Phil does with "Patiently," "The Words in Your Eyes," "Mystic Line," and "God Bless Older Ladies." The melodies are filled with subtlety, charm and grace. Absolutely blows me away!

Phil’s voice was a beautifully clear tenor and his harmonies simply superb… and Don - well, how can you describe perfection? Guitarist Wally Wachtel, lead guitarist on Stevie Nicks’ solo tours, described Don as having the best lead vocal in rock music EVER. I agree - he could make his voice sound crisp and clear, or raspy, or velvety soft and husky… but always, for me, the sexiest voice ever in rock music.

I have enjoyed the Everly Brothers since Bye Bye Love was released. I am 80 years old now and I still believe they are the best male duet ever. Their harmony is PERFECT.

They were magical together. Those Harmonies are Immortal! Nobody sings like this today. Emotionally powerful. RIP Phil- I know he’s in Heaven now and singing like an Angel in the Heavenly Choir. If anyone belongs there, it’s Phil!
