Honestly, Moarte declaring war on Christmas is honestly better than anything that's happened into the real world. Also, WHY DID THEY RETCON THE ENDING OF THE MOVIE LIKE THAT?! I mean, my theory for the retcons is that the Necronomicon is rewriting reality so it keeps surviving but Ash survives thanks to him being blessed by God (I think this was in the comics), but at least that kinda makes more sense than the first movie being A DREAM!! Also, nice songs.

At least with the Evil Dead Musical, yes that is real and the show + soundtrack is on KZbin, and they handled the issue of connecting both films by combining them into one single continuity with the first act focusing on Evil Dead 1 up to when Ash kills his girlfriend, though including moments from 2 to set that up by introducing the characters from that as well as Ash chopping off his hand, with Act 2 focusing on the sequel from the characters busting into the cabin onwards

I wish I had musical numbers in my dreams, usually I just get diagetic creepy background music in these weird nightmares I only have right before waking up. I thought they were night terrors but night terrors apparently happen near the start of non-REM sleep, not at the end of REM sleep. It's the same type of nightmare where I sometimes suddenly start screaming uncontrollably in my dream, though those ones are sometimes recursive (I can tell they're not night terrors because I didn't ever wake up my roomate so the screaming can't have happened in real life).

To me, it would make more sense that Evil Dead 2 is the nightmare over Evil Dead 1 because you can explain it away as a PTSD inspired dream where Ash is forced to relive what happens but with his girlfriend Linda instead, as her death in particular was the one that hit him the most, but when he awakens, he learns that the evil followed him, and haunts his small isolated home

I kind of like the idea of Ash's future snark retroactively coloring events, but if that's what they were going for, they should have used some kind of framing device to contrast the snarky ash reminiscing from the naive ash in the story, rather than letting the reader come up with the justification

29:00 So, fun story, around 8 years ago, I worked at The Home Depot. We put out Halloween stuff around the middle of September, and on October 8th we got our Christmas delivery. Now, normally I'd have assumed we were just gonna stuck them up in the racking above some of the shelves until the end of October.... but that was very much not what happened, instead we were told to take all of the Halloween stuff in the main display area and move them all the way down to the other end of the store next to the clearanced area and set up Christmas that day. That was around the time I realized just how far Christmas was encroaching where it didn't yet belong.

In regards to the ending, I think a better retcon would be for Ash to fight off the demon in the woods and take a moment of relief that its all over permanently. He then drives off thinking that the cabin would still make a great place for some hanky-panky with a little TLC, but as he leaves the woods laugh demonically indicating that the demon is still alive an well. It retains everything that had happened rather than it all being just a dream.
