The pacing in the DLCs for the first game was so spot on. The way they spaced out giving you weapons was amazing - when you finally get that shotgun and Kidman says "enough of this shit!" it's like...I WAS JUST THINKING THE SAME THING.

What that meant was, was that if any extra weight was put on the elevators, then gravity would cause the elevators to start moving down. Full agree. TEW is a fine game mechanically but even the wiki page can’t make sense of its nonsensical plot. Ruvik’s attack on the hospital takes place in the real world and then somehow he places Seb and the others into STEM except no it was Mobius except no it was Ruvik because he needs Leslie to be able to escape except the administrator definitely sends Kidman in there so it must have- it’s all so asinine. TEW2’s plot is much better overall, though I think the game makes some big missteps with the antagonists especially with the hellfire preacher. I like the idea of a psychopath having so much more creative control inside of STEM but I wish that we’d have stuck with mister pictures rather than try for a twist villain of a character we don’t know or really care about. Everything with Seb’s wife and daughter was really good though, and the gameplay was just overall more fun imho. Mechanically, it’s like comparing Dead Space 1 Vito Dead Space 2. One is trying harder to evoke horror with all the gore it can throw at the screen, another is more a power fantasy by inserting into a man who has dealt with the threat before. But narratively? It’s like comparing Operation Raccoon City to RE2 lol the second’s story has flaws but the first’s story is just bad.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is a game that you might consider looking into. It came out pretty recently and I really enjoyed my time with it. If you blitz the story and don't do all the collecting stuff its a short game so maybe you can use it as a game between games or something. Great video as always though.

Tbf, safehead DLC (The Keeper) had a story, you got it from the notes you found. It explained who he was and why he became the safehead, what was his goal. Well, one of the safeheads anyway, as there were a lot of them. You play as Pedro Martin, whose daughter got mental condition and was put into the machine by the doctor (similarly to the main game), and he agreed to go into the machine in exchange for her freedom. The ending is surprisingly good, as he saves his daughter and supposedly survives himself, but that is not certain.

2 is amazing and objectively the better game. You may not have liked where the story went, but it was the right direction for it to go. Less convoluted and more straightforward can be a good thing, you dont need to be bogged down by lore dumps or brain churning plots. If all you focus on is world building and lore instead of your characters it can really down play the significance of events *cough* Dark Souls *cough*

@@CitrusRev Man 2 was horrible, it was way too short, had weaker plot and bosses and overall world design was boring. And no, I don’t think 2 went to the right direction as a sequel. It retconned the first game so much and it almost felt like a completely different title.
