SPOILER WARNING: After watching all of "Bee and Puppycat" on Netflix I want to talk about some things. I have to say I liked the original run from 2014 better. It has a more natural feel if you know what I mean. The new version is more polished, but that means it cut out some of the rough edges that gave it a more distinct personality. Where are all the weird talking animals doing non sequiturs, where is all the dangerous weapons that you can buy at the grocery store? I do like that one bit they added with the music box from the comics. That was nicely done. Most of all I don't like what they did with Bee. Which is strange because they didn't change her. She acts the same as before, and I like her character a lot, but they altered the context around her. She went from this sweet and somewhat childish 20 something cyborg who hasn't got her act together yet, to an ancient ageless cyborg suffering from arrested development who can't grow up in any sense of the word. It also changes her relationship with Deckard from a good friend and possible crush who always would look after her, to a kid she used to babysit. It also reframes his whole story arc about his indecision for leaving to go to school. And the reason they give for why he's bad at baking is because he can't follow recipes or do the measurements, but he's amazing at cooking, and it's like you do those things for cooking too. What's the deal? Finally, I don't really like how they melded together all the character's plots. Like, Puppycat was the pilot of the spaceship that Bee was tasked with repairing and he used to babysit her. How did that just never come up between them the whole time they spent together? Also, wouldn't both Bee and Puppycat know that Cardamon's Mom was supposed to be asleep the whole time? Why would they not tell that poor kid? Why can't they just be a random cyborg and space outlaw who happened to meet and become roommates? Why does everything have to be a grand interconnected narrative? Aside from the nitpicks. I do like the show and would recommend it. I like the characters. I like that the eldritch hands that caused untold destruction are just regular stupid guys just doing their job. And I'm hoping they'll make another season, because I want to see what they'll do now that they're in space and there are 5 or 6 Bees running around.

That’s the reason Deckard gives, but the real reason is probably just his unresolved personal issues, like Cass said “hes still depressed, now he’s just depressed in pants” It’s really unclear how aware Bee is about this stuff, and Puppycat has kinda been shown to be a bit of selfish dick so it isn’t too unbelievable. I wouldn’t say it’s a big overarching narrative, just an evolution of how their character arcs are being explored in a more intersecting way, Puppycat refuses to talk openly about his past with anyone, much less Bee, so it makes sense that the coincidence would get ignored in favor of Puppycat avoiding that uncomfortable conversation.

I’m the opposite; a lot of it because of those reasons. I love the final product because it feels so meticulously dreamy. It’s not spunky or so determined to progress, but it is bizarre. The original felt like it was made in the 2010s, Y’know? However, current is timeless. Oh yeah and baking and cooking are procedurally different. Cooking is lenient, baking is strict. It makes sense why Deckards issue is baking. Personally, I like the uncertainty in the story. It leaves a lot for the future and rumination.

I really don’t see why so many people are trashing season 2. I’ve watched the og KZbin series and the Netflix series and honestly the Netflix release is literally amazing. Like the insane lore drops we got and the amazing backgrounds we started to get on all of these characters is amazing. Like I literally can’t believe the ending of the newest season. It was such a satisfying start to a new season which I hope does get released. I just don’t understand all of the hate.

The reason I loved the Original Bee and Puppycat back in the day was because of it's unique art style and story telling. The newer one while still beautiful kinda feels emptied and rushed.. kind of like it was done this was to not disappoint fans or lose the fanbase. I want to support it so badly but I am worried since they signed on with Netflix the streaming service can be a massive hit or a massive death when it comes to a series..

The original was more in Natasha’s art style, especially at the time. I do, personally, like it better. The new one is not bad, it’s shiny and bubbly and has a more on-brand anime feel. I watched puppycat lazy in space a long while ago. So, I kinda got spoiled. Only thing I don't like about the netflix version, is that they kinda skipped through the older episodes, there a few new things, but the lazy in space episodes are exactly the same.

i do agree i feel like they didnt take the time like they did earlier back and they decided to move things fast. i like the older version do to its more of a mystery and how it would make you think and kind of guess but here it sees like they just wanted to get everything out there in a couple of episodes, not that it wasnt bad but it took what have seem to be something more of a story to something very short. I honestly hope they do something different if they decide to bring it back or if they want to continue some unanswered questions but I feel like they should stop focusing it to be so quickly and more of a story based episodes.

I’m gonna be honest I wasn’t here for the original so I started out as the Netflix show. And what I say to it is, I don’t really care which version I watch. They have both touched my heart, this is the exact show I feel like I can chill with, I love the lofi and just chill pure aestetic vibe of the show. Plus it still holds up with a story that you’ll most likely understand if you watch twice. It’s pretty, it’s funny and I got attached to so many of the characters. All I want is a season 3, I don’t care about the debates, I just don’t want another good thing I’ve found that gives me peace after a long day to not be given a chance to finish its story. All I want is to find out how the rest of the story will play out, please give us fans season 3!

I love both shows, but so many of the best lines and moments are gone from the Netflix version's abbreviated/ altered remakes of the original episodes (most likely because they didn't want it to feel redundant to longtime fans). It gets really good after that though. Also, justice for Wallace.

I really liked bee and puppycat. I thought it was good. I remember watching it on youtube and remembering see Cardamon’s mom, wonder who she is. I think netflix did a good job Rebooting this. Most reboots aren’t good but i think this is one of the good ones. Also, I wonder why Princess betrayed the outlaw and why do the warlocks want him now that he’s a “Beast”. He’s practically useless in his now beast form. Do they want to lock him up? Or use him for something idk. So many questions. We need a season two!

i enjooy the seperation. the pilot, season 1 on youtube and season 2 that was never aired has been turned into something new for Netflix. Making it self sufficient; without the need to watch the original airing of the show but it's nice to watch and see how much the story has progressed and just in general to see what changed from the original story!

I really like the original art style,it really felt like the 2016 animation style. Splotchy but at the same time it felt like a slice of life. with modern day animation the creators tend to go beside themselves so I hope the animation won’t turn out bad for it’s second season. For the most part the story should stay the same along with the main character’s personality.with that being said I’m really hoping the series doesn’t get cancelled or pushed back and hopefully it all goes well

The show is pretty and all, though I don't like how they infodump on the first ep wayy too much and don't let the viewers sort of figure stuff out themselves somewhat. And it's also weird how they behave and react or yet there's a lack of it most of the time.

I can’t tell what age group this show is targeted at because it feels water down but at the same time they curse? Also it seems less funny? Speculating it's some internal issues with a lack of time or whatever, but from ep.4 onward it definitely feels a lot better, since it's just lazy in space (which was leaked a while ago)

Started bee and puppy cat at 12 n now I’m 17, I was informed on the possible return after checking every few months, n rewatching the full of first season every year at least. Once I heard it’d be coming back fr I legit checked all the time n just saw it on Netflix today n I clicked it in SECONDS. I tell you I binged from 12-4 and finished it now with my lil sis watching besides me for the first time. I was honestly crazy emotional😭 honestly I’m so shocked at how much the animation improved, like I could tell it did and changed no doubt. But seeing this vid flipped my WORLD. i had no idea it was THAT different. anyhow for any new bee and puppycat that might see this defo watch the og season 1 first bc the detail n funny bits esp of the first season were left out n rushed which sucked but I get it for sure. it's the same voice actor throughout the series, the first three episodes were most recently recorded, and the voice actor (sticking with the series since the og KZbin episodes) went through puberty I guess lol. Lazy in Space VA was recorded at least 3 years ago.
