I honestly had my gripes with the Netflix series at first with how the voice acting wasn’t as energetic as it was on the online series. But I just shut up and kept watching it and started realizing that I actually enjoy the show. It’s not as energetic as it was before but it makes up In it’s humor and story. I liked the idea of deckard leaving in the first couple of episodes and bee having a big responsibility of helping to look after deckards family and help them when she can. I was honestly kinda tired of the whole will they/won’t they with bee and deckard, I hope deckard and bee do end up together perhaps when deckard comes back from school and the two go out to catch up and talk before realizing they missed each other. This show was my childhood and I’m happy to enjoy it in adulthood. Go watch it so it can get more seasons!

I like that take! Though considering the route Netflix took with Dekard and Bee's relationship I don't think it'd be appropriate for them to get together. It was implied that she was already grown and had a part in Dekard's upbringing and she sees him as a younger brother rather than a love interest... (I don't really know how he feels towards her but it's clear that he likes her) A little sad tbh

I hated the direction they took with Deckards role at first but I think you really put it into perspective. Deckard and his relationship with Bee represent the older vision of the show that couldn’t really be realized in the reboot. Him leaving is a sad but natural development saying “hey this can’t be the same show you knew but that’s okay.”

I have such a weird relationship with Bee and Puppycat. I contributed to the kickstarter as a poor college student, but was only able to watch maybe 3 episodes total. They sent the links to kickstarter patrons, but it seemed to have a very small window of time that you could watch them. So while I was drowning in final student projects, the series uploaded and vanished before I could view them. And then I didn't get any further word on anything until the Netflix announcement. I dunno how any other kickstarter people faired, but I was sure bummed.

I’m so sad that Bee and Puppycat had to become this way. Season two’s ending was so captivating and it was really when things started to take off. At this point like you said, I’m pessimistic about the future of bee and puppycat and I don’t think we’ll see any new episodes within the next three years, but I do continue to have hope for the continuation of this lovely series and a proper ending, as the show has already persisted through so many hurdles

I think im disappointed. I was very excited for the season. It was a comfort show and still is. Absolutely slimmed down Bee and a bit of lore just confused me- so maybe they’ll cover it next season. I think after Hilda, Netflix really needed a show like this. There's a definite niche which Puppycat fits into which Netflex has tapped into, but it just doesn't have enough content right now to hold that niche. Especially since Hulu actually has Adventure Time, Regular Show, etc. This sort of relatable cozy content that genuinely feels almost adlibbed as they wrote the script. Netflix has had some real stinkers in its animation area. Its involvement with the Godzilla animes has probably cost it a lot, especially with the first trilogy they released. But I think this friendly miyazaki vibe with some very old school feels to it works well and I think we're going to continue to see more content like Puppycat, Hilda, and so on. As an older viewer in my late 30's, everything about these shows hits just the right spots of what I loved about old SNES games, classic Miyazaki films, etc. And the shows seem to work well with people in their 20's and younger viewers as well. The appeal is pretty much universal across all demographics almost. I think we're going to see as much puppycat as its creators want to make, now that it's on Netflix. It's just that we'll see less animated content in general as competition picks up. But the demand for puppycat is very real, and I think it's the top contender right now for continued financing.

Late to the conversation, but a cozy somewhat ad-libbed show I really like is the midnight gospel- it was also written (i think) by pendleton ward so that’s probably why it’s so good lol. Shows that have a loose-ish plot but complex characters and BEAUTIFUL colours and art are so underrated and special.

Ive seen the Netflix adaptation of season one (I had to binge some of it otherwise Netflix would cancel it) but I have to say, if you havent seen the KZbin original I feel like the story's pacing is so WEIRD. If I can speak as a brand new fan who smoked every frame of this show in like a week, I love the post-pilot art style so much. The pacing and visual sharpness of the pilot felt like a holdover from Adventure Time, and the softer lines, more pastel color palette and sleep, dream-logic pacing of the main series suits it so much better. In hindsight, the Netflix-exclusive episodes are a little bit lacking in terms of energy, and a lot of good stuff got cut, but that stuff's all still online, for free. The new episodes were a necessary concession to get the show in front of more eyes. All this show needs to be successful and beloved is for people to see it. It speaks for itself, even condensed into three episodes. There is a soul and a creative vision to this series that cannot be compromised or diminished or legislated away. As a 20-something fuckup myself, Bee is the hero I needed, and she arrived at the perfect time. I'm telling everyone I know to watch this show in whatever form they can find it in, and I know it will work, because I watched it in the most scuffed order possible and I still think it's the best piece of American animation of the last 20 years. Don't give up on this show.

also as a new fan it makes me so sad to hear old fans disparage lazy in space just because its a bit different, i really liked the added context and it made me interested to go back and watch the original and pilot! also I agree that the modernized version fits better with this era of animation and some may see it watered down, I agree it was a bit too fast to follow at first, but theres a lot of added lines that bring more heart into the show eg. when moully said "thanks for being so nice to me, im not sure anything bad is going to happen to me" the whole thing feels more cohesive like the plot actually knows where its going!!!

I remember finding this series on my 3DS program thing where they showed so much of channel frederator stuff (conspiracy theories mainly) but once I found this series I fell in love, was really sad to find out that it didn’t continue at all. Everything from Gentle Touch onwards feels just fine, I don't really hear what people find odd or unfitting. The series took on a much calmer, more grounded (as grounded as you can get in a casually bizarre world like that) and more organic approach than the youtube episodes, in order to continue the story. Lazy in Space is a wonferful continuation, where the show truly reached its peak and unique potential, and I truly wish people could've enjoyed it sooner without the unnecessary additions that are the three new episodes made for Netflix this time around. The original was a sequel to the pilot up to Wedding, taking everything in those episodes into account, and leaving the rest of the series to unveil some mysteries and build upon new ones. Watching the three first eps on Netflix after seeing Lazy in Space a couple of years ago felt... weird. I don't know why they decided to spoil so much from later in the season straight away like that. The show already had a nice buildup and new information was introduced naturally and when actually prompted. But welp, the original episodes still exist and were truly a part of the whole project up until this point, so I don't see a reason to think of them as a disjointed slice of the story.

I just started watching the Netflix version after watching the KZbin animation last year and the first thing that threw me off is that Bee's energetic and childlike personality was heavily minimized, it's still there but definitely not nearly as much which is what made Bee a unique protagonist for me, a young adult woman who likes to act carefree and energetic without caring what others think

Netflix first few episodes felt like rushing through the first season and referencing it but with no respect or time for that part .. and the changes were all odd, rushed, or outright ruined plotlines, reveals, characters, and dynamics... I just don't understand why they couldn't upload the already made content onto Netflix as a 'arnt you excited?' preamble to the series coming to Netflix and then the next day upload a 'season 3' or 'official season 2'.. like a streaming party before the release vibe. It would have saved time and preserved the story and work and no one would.habr been mad it wasn't updated. At least if you're going to rely on fans who already saw the show and not even respect the material they saw anyway and only reference it... then just don't change it to begin with. It's not worse than that, surely. Then they could have spent time giving us a continuation for the large group who saw the leaked second season or VRV stuff and hey it's just more content for those who didn't... It's evident how popular the show was the way that it was on KZbin. No need to change it and rushing through it just feels insulting. Especially if those changes undercut the show or feel out of character.

I think the changes they made are fine, but nothing that needed explaining got explained. The warlocks, the other characters referencing Cardamon’s mom even though they were BOTH supposed to have been asleep since before Bee was an adult, the fact that Puppycat could’ve been fixing his ship the entire time he was on Earth, the fact that Crispin and Bee lived together and yet Bee was an “old lady” to everyone but Deckard, etc. The sudden personality shift on Bee was really noticeable and awkward since she’s clearly much more mature after what happened with Moully, but everyone still acting like she’s immature.

I’ve loved every version of Bee and Puppycat, including the Netflix series! Pacing is different and I miss Deckard sounding out “recipe” in the Netflix one but they were all beautifully made and dreamy. I’m just happy to get more content with the original Bee voice actor ❤️

I randomly found this show a week ago after watching Bad Guys on Netflix lol. AND I LOVED IT! I loved the comedy, all the animation details, and how simple yet deep the show can be. I googled about the show after a few episodes and thought there would be a second season on Netflix. So when I finally got that the Netflix episodes were the second part I was heartbroken. i genuilly feel the story could keep going on and I am not a fan of the ending. But I also just finished the KZbin episodes and I think both versions have a great essence even though they are different. I cannot believe how much the show (and the fans!) went through and feel very lucky that I was able to watch the whole series in a week. Nice video! Bee & Puppycat is one of my fav shows now 💜🐱

I’ve rewatched the pilot and both seasons twice by now and am both in love with all three parts and just kinda sad at how long so many others had to wait. The first three episodes feel like they're, for the most part, not supposed to count much. They feel like they were supposed to summarize the KZbin series while retconning a few things for future continuity purposes. "Ok this, this and this still happened, but this this and this didn't. Good? Let's continue." I've personally been recommending that people watch the KZbin series first and then the Netflix show, since that gives the best experience. All that said, I enjoyed the show! I hope there's more of Bee and Puppycat in the future, though that future looks bleak. (spoilers below) Nixing the crush between Deckard and Bee is the biggest change. I didn't detect so much as a hint of a crush in the Netflix series, they just seem like good friends. Which, considering that Bee has apparently known Deckard since he was a baby...good choice. It feels like they thought the implications of their lore through a little more carefully and said "wait a minute, that's weird". Though on that note, the stuff with Deckard's mechanic brother is weird for the same reason. They didn't really explain what was happening there, but I think what happened was that Bee didn't see that guy for most of his childhood since he ran away. When he got back he moved in with Bee instead of his family for awhile, and a one sided crush developed. As far as I could tell, Bee didn't seem attracted to him at all, so...idk, not sure what to make of all that.

I've almost finished the season on netflix, and I love it so far. There's only one change that I'm seriously sad about, which is that bee doesn't say "my gu-uts my guts" in the umbrella scene. Because I used to quote that all the time back when I first watched the series on youtube, and it was one of the moments that really made me like Bee as a character. Same with the candy scene. But, overall it's still fantastic, and I can't wait to see where they take the story next!

Bee and Puppycat (along with Bravest Warriors) was one of my absolute favorite underground cartoons back when it was first released. I never knew the details of the production pauses, delays, and of course the sudden switch over to VRV until watching this video. It is a shame that the show had to take this route as I agree that the window for its popularity has been somewhat missed. I am yet to watch the new episodes on Netflix but if they aren't as great as the Cartoon Hangover releases, I won't be completely surprised. Tysm for talking about a series like this. No big deal, it showed more of Puppycat being the space prince, and how and why she was fired initially. Can't wait to show my older daughter, she was just a baby when it first aired. I also got her the Puppycat talking plushie, but she's long destroyed it. My soon to be 3 year old will love the show, no doubt. After work today, we're gonna watch it and give it our support!

I didnt really like hiw they emphasised puppycat being the space prince in the beginning as the original kinda ler it be more subtle, a detail not as clear which in my opinion made the show much more interesting. Bee being a robot was also very duvtle but the new was kinda quick to shiw it with little foreshadowing

You have to think about it like how Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood spedran the first half because the original Full Metal Alchemist went into the first half in much more depth and detail. They have to catch newcomers up and the first three episode just recap the original 10 episodes. It works fine. Also there is still the question of what happened to the original Bee since they did show her as a child in LIS.

Abou the robot thing I feel like its more of a cyborg thing so maybe she was a full on human before but then, something happend pf her father just managed to build a creature able to grow and Bee has in fact been a robot thing all the time

I loved the pilot and series on yt. I just kind of assumed I'd never see it again after that because nothing ever came out after. So seeing it on Netflix was a huge suprise. I watched it all in two days and I really enjoy it. I truley hope it's renewed for another season, I don't want to lose it again. Unfortunately Neflix is notorious for only having 1 or 2 seasons and then dropping shows 😕

Among the many things I missed in the remake, the main-ish one is the Second/First Artstyle. The Colour; Although Still pastel, it uses the old colours from the old series but in a way that it feels repetitive? In my eyes I just think it's flat and they don't test the waters with other colours like the old one used to, it does'nt have that much depth to it and even at moments when the old show had simple colours it still served. The remake; not so much. It's still an okay show, and it's probably the budget, but I think the style of the show before really ecapsulates, if that's the correct word, the show's vibe. It was dreamy, meme-y, and just pure eye-candy. The silly expressions ranging from Puppycat's poses to Bee's ever-changing eyebrows, Dekard, Cass and their whole family's looks, and the scenes where it should've always hit the most now doesn't as much; Cardamon's Mom's room. Still is sad, but the old details really told a story. I think I could go on, but nonetheless I still hold this show dearly, remake or continuation, it's still bee and puppycat, and their adventures are always fun!

I didn't watch the thing on KZbin but I haven't seen it in forever so I don't remember much. So when it was leaked that it wpuld go on Netflix I thought it would explain the story more but I was just confused mostly

Thank you for making such a nice concise video! I just discovered Bee and Puppycat for the first time this week, and I'm so conflicted how to feel about it. On one hand I'm so sad that I didn't stumble upon it sooner, but I also missed out on a lot of waiting and heartbreak which might be a blessing in that sense. I've yet to complete the whole netflix version, but I did go back and watch the pilot and subsequent 10 episodes, and this has quickly become one of my favourite shows ever. What a hidden gem!!

I loved the original show, probably watched it a dozen times. When Lazy in Space leaked, I felt not a single bit of shame watching and rewatching it. I'd have been happy to buy it on DVD or Blueray just to support it. I always found the lack of updates and punctuality to be funny considering that's the main trait of Bee. I'm just sad we'll probably never get a season 3.

i haven’t seen this mentioned a whole lot, but some fans actually were able to guess that netflix would pick up lazy in space even before they announced that it would be aired there. in about july/august of 2020, somebody shared a screenshot of a copyright claim they’d gotten on either a clip or a reupload of one of the leaked episodes which had stated that the rights to the episode belonged to netflix. of course, since there was complete radio silence from all sides, most fans took the claim with a grain of salt, but i also wasn’t at all surprised when i saw the announcement for this reason. (also, i totally forgot about the 3ds release. that brought up some deep memories lol)

I have to say I didn't know anything about bee and puppycat when I stumbled across this shoe on my netflix feed. I didn't even mean to watch it, I just misclicked and it started playing and I got gripped by the beautiful animation and vibrant colours. It was ... unbelievable cozy and comforting to watch this show. I loved it. I didn't know the long history of the show but soon I found the old episodes on youtube and I was just happy to have more content. I get that for longtime fans the netflix season might not be perfect but it still has so much character... this whole series is honestly just great ...

I couldn't even finish the Netflix run. Because it was a completely new show, at least it feels like it. I really couldn't get my head around why they put so much back story where it wasn't needed. And gave too much detail to things that didn't need them. I'm just sad because the original run is so beautiful in its own right! And gave hints and little tips on the back story on bee and puppycat. Now the show you Right away the back story and explain everything for even the least interested person that watches it to a full extent, and that took the whole mystery and spark from the show.

To me it was the opposite. I was soooooo confused about everything in the show. In the Netflux series, it was like they dropped mega bombs on you with out developing the plot details and just expect you to piece things together on your own. Which wouldn't be too bad if the pacing wasn't so weird. The original YT series had a better flow that made everything smooth and cohesive. Even the scripting was alot better as the dialogue was more coherent and natural. I wish the netflix version would've followed the same storytelling as its predecessor. It would've made it alot more enjoyable. At the end of the last Netflix episode I was irritated and ready to cut the TV off.

There's a website that has all the episodes in the IDEAL watching order, from the pilot up until season 2, followed immediately by the leaked episodes (i.e. episodes 4-16 of the Netflix version), which in my opinion is the ideal Bee & Puppycat as it would have been had it stayed a fully online series... But I REALLY want them to make money, so I will be watching the Netflix version in addition over and over for sure!!

I got a PM from Natasha Allegri insulting me, telling me my feelings are pointless and don't matter and that I'm a horrible person. My only crime (months before the PM) I posting online, with people talking about the Netflix release, that I was sad about the changes that had happened to the program and that it seemed to lack the same vibe of its original run. The netflix version was my first exposure to this show and I fell in love with it. The storyline and character development is amazing IMO. Season 2 aka Lazy in Space really fleshes out the characters and the plot more, and the ending was such a cliff hanger... I'll be soooo sad if they don't continue this show somehow. Hopefully they get enough views for Netflix or another service to want to pick up a 3rd season....

I was one of the lucky few to see the leak of what i consider season two of B&PC, and are episodes 4-12 in the Netflix series. After falling in love and following the series since I saw the pilot months after it was posted, the re-animation and changes they had were thoroughly disappointing. The writing felt vastly different, and I noticed so many cut corners. You can notice the difference between ep. 3 & 4, the writing, voice acting, animation, and story telling is VASTLY apparent. If you want a good sense experience of the show, i suggest watching the full 10 episode series on KZbin then continuing with four and onward. That is all my opinion tho, I think netflix might have deterred viewers greatly as i don’t think i would have watched past episode 1 if i was a new viewers. The animation is full of still frames, puppycats voice doesn’t match or line up with his phrases at all, and there are tons of bongus continuity issues. Good video! Glad it popped up on my feed !

No one asked for my opinion but oh well While I do prefer the yt version of bee and puppycat I still enjoy the Netflix version, I do wish they hadn't changed some of the episodes so much especially the bday episode and the voice acting in the Netflix version does bug me every now and then especially compared to the yt version but I still find comfort in the Netflix version with later episodes of it. The animation in some bits made me question it a bit but I feel like it did get better at some points. I love the way they deal with puppycats backstory and how they show it and give Deckards siblings more character and gave some of them their own bits in the series to show what they're like instead of reducing them all to cardboard cut outs like some shows do. Bees relationship with Deckard is cute as hell in the yt version but I think the idea of them just being friends in the newer version is still cute and its very positive since it shows the guys and girls really can just be friends and I dont think I have much to say on her relationship with crispin just yet other than they're cute too, like they just vibe together pretty well and it's nice to see and considering the way he is in most episodes I feel like in his bday episode while it started off a lil rampant it felt like to me he looked a little more relaxed with his manner and comfortable with bee and let loose a little outside of his shell which was really nice I do hope for the future that the voice acting gets a little more life to it and the animation gets a little smoother but one can only hope

Not gonna lie, the netflix run has lost some of the series initial charm, but overall I love it. I went in not expecting too much and I was blown away, it really is giid cozy tv to just chill too, which is what I really wanted it to be in the first place. I do wish that they didn't semi-decanonize S1, but overall I'm just glad we got more Bee and Puppycat in general, and I'm happy that (Although tenuous and I'm not holding my breath) there is a slight chance that getting put on netflix will have expanded this shows reach and get enough people bugging them for the series to continue. I'm also happy that it coming to netflix reminded me of Bee and Puppycat after some 4-5 years, and by extention Bravest Warriors, which I'm gonna have to rewatch now as well
