I was a young American Airforce kid stationed Near Oxford England & would train at gyms in different cities & sell Crazyware American workout clothes to the Brits... This was in 1988-1990... I watched Dorian Yates come from a humble gym in Birmingham... I got to my Base weighing 142 at 6' tall... I left weighing 238... That was an amazing time to witness, Dorian was the Beast from the East...

@@duhotatoday3277 absolutely, the reason that arnold was able to have that tight gut, despite being on everything under the sun available, was because he was so young. if you asked him to do the same thing ten years later like most of the "bubble gut" guys end up hitting the olympia stage at, you'd see something pretty similar.

By todays standards, he wasn't far off tbh. Way more limited variety of Anabolic drugs, coupled with a mentality still focused on pushing the envelope in terms of training, diet etc. Nowadays, everyone knows the best way to build muscles, everyone has a 90% identical diet to each other, so other than genetics the only way to keep pushing the limits of the human body is via utilising the most cutting edge drugs. Obviously it's not all down to drugs, I mean I'll never come close to having that level of body, even if you gave me the biggest doses of the best drugs available to man. Genetics + Training + Diet + Drugs, you need every one almost perfect to get to the level of champ.

If you really were 30+ I’m sure you wouldn’t have really cared as you would’ve seen it as below you but then again you’re 15.

@@radicalbradical3164 Buddy, what reason do I have to lie. I do not need validation. People need to communicate its simple as that. You would have learned that in public speaking or an interpersonal communication course in college. If your in college I would highly recommend those courses. I do not need validation, I have done all I have wanted in my life. I was just sharing an experience. My point being that not everyone can be a mass monster. Most of these people die by the time they are in their 40's and 50's! I looked up many bodybuilders from the 1990's and a lot of them are dead Nasser El Sombaty, Greg Kovak, etc. They eat way too much animal protein and when they bulk they also eat tons of carbs, all that add to cholesterol and heart attacks. It's truly sad....
@yetrotagabundok37564 жыл бұрын
Back in the late 1970s was when I started to weight train and bodybuild, when bodybuilding as a sport was really taking off. Somehow, I couldn't get as big (or proportionately as big) as my pro idols. I followed everything they all "sincerely" advised, like, train hard, have discipline, don't give up, exceed yourself, eat right, sleep right, 2 forced reps on high intensity training, etc... and I couldn't even come close. I was still this hard body lean (5 to 6% body fat), light-framed but "somewhat" burly guy. Then later, they talked about you have to have the genes, too. I stayed with weight training now for 42 years straight and I never got that big... but I got tremendously (naturally) strong with some of my exercises, in terms of my power-to-weight ratio. For example, in my younger years, I could do one-arm dumbbell concentration curls of 2 reps of half my body weight (on my 5th and final heavy set) and I could strap on 100 pounds and do slow, strict, full-range lat pull-ups to behind the neck... as I weighed 140 pounds. I dominantly used such refined power against my opponents in the 3 sports I played in: soccer, volleyball, and table tennis. Looking back after the 20th year of my weight training, I then heard that they all just forgot to tell me (when they publicly admitted it) about taking a gallon of roids 3 times a day on an empty stomach (exaggeration and sarcasm here, of course). But for those first 20 years of my training, I naively kept following their advise to "not ever take steroids because they are BAD for you!" (Apparently bad for me, but good for them so there's less competition.) And so I never did... to this day. And I still won't. I'm 58yo now... weigh 138 pounds (standing at 5'9") and was still strapping 80 pounds on the lat pull-up before the pandemic hit in March of 2020. For the rest of my strength, I am about at 40% now due to a mild car accident 22 years ago that blew out my left knee and everything went downhill (except for the lat pull-ups, which I still enjoy... but when I started back a month ago again due to this pandemic hiatus, I struggled with my body weight to do just 6 pull-ups. LOL! Yesterday, I could strap on 25 pounds again on my final 4 reps... and that's where I'll probably keep it into my older years. I know I can strap 45 pounds for 2 reps, but I'd rather take it easy now.). Since I found out about being lied to about the roids about 22 years ago, I gave up on admiring roid-built physiques altogether. The younger generation weight trainers at the gym today embrace the idea that they should use all the latest technologies available to them (including anabolic steroids) to grow quick and big... and that I should take them, too... and I always say, "No thanks." And that's just me and my take on it all.
