I've owned two 1976 B1 Passats. Both driven well past 500,000km each and only stopped by lesser cars hitting them. Both while parked. I wish I had one again - never just transport - they always made me happy.

I have the B1 facelift 1.5 Diesel Passat station wagon produced in South-Africa and bought new in 1980. Still 100% original and in great condition. Good job on the video thanx

As far as I can recall the early Passat was never sold in the U.S. Prior to the launch of the late 80s Passat, VW flagship was known as the VW Quantum. BTW, there is zero performance in the Passat. It has never held that distinction even with the VR6 or the short lived W8 engines.
