I get it. I joined the Army when I felt college wasn't for me. After I got out I thought that I should go back to school with the benefits. I finished school in a major that I thought I was supposed to be in. Had many jobs in my field but absolutely hated every one of them. I'm just not a office type worker. I'm almost 40 and now I work in warehouse unloading 1000's of tires by hand a day. Its tough work but I haven't been happier. I have more time off and make more money than I've ever made. Thanks to Misha, I've been inspired to make music again. He kind of paved the way for the new breed of guitarist who also know their way around a DAW, for better or worse lol

As someone who got a music degree, I can say that if you aren’t sure what you want to do in college. Do not go! I’m in a job that doesn’t require my degree and I am making good money. Network any chance you can get! Be nice and prove your worth and it’ll take you far.

Any kid out there that is feeling pressured to go to college but doesn't feel like that's your path, don't go. I went for 2 years just because I thought I was supposed to go and had to pay back those student loans that didn't give me anything. I ended up going to a trade school after a year of figuring out what I wanted to do with my life and I may not be filthy rich but I live comfortably and do enjoy what I do. Your career may not be your passion but you need to get a job that stimulates your mind or you will get burnt out fast.

Life is 100% about who you know - and it just so happens that a lot of people that are helpful to know, you meet in college. Doesn't mean you need college to meet them though.

College can be an incredibly enriching experience. I found my classes outside of my pre-med curriculum to be incredibly valuable, including history, psychology, poetry, and even theology - even though I'll never use what I learned in my profession. I was surrounded by incredibly smart people, and I learned as much from my classmates/friends as I did from my classes. The problem is that college it's too damn expensive nowadays, and people are taking on a crushing amount of debt. If tuition were as affordable as it was in the 50's and 60's (adjusted for inflation, of course), I'd recommend it to everyone without hesitation. But that's not the reality we live in.
