I will always remember, a friend of mine said that if people absolutely hate your guts as a band/artist (not as a person), you are doing something right. The worst thing is that people actually don't care, but HATE only proves there's also people who will LOVE what you do.

Yeahh seeing more women in the metal scene is cool as hell, being one myself. Whenever people ask my friend what music he likes and he says deathmetal/core theyre like cool and then when i say it i get looked at like 😟🤨 Tis what it is though

that's a bad setup to a boring response. way to use your marketing degree mr. PRMBA. the real reason people get gatekeepy about what platform they found an artist is because tiktok favors using 1 clip from 1 song to "go viral"....but fans of that 1 song don't translate into anything else by the artist's body of work. 1mil streams on a single, but no one buys the album so artists are still struggling financially.

Phil isn't lumping his opinions with the band, the critics are as a way to attack the band as a whole. Because they know Phil himself is a relative nobody compared to the band.

Thank you for all the songs, all the shows I went in, all the records and all you lies, I love you Mike, you opened my eyes years ago on what I could be happy with. Before NOFX everything was dark around me, it is just as if you brought me the light to walk in the world. I'm sad not to see you again with NOFX on stage but I will always respect everything you do. I love you Mike.

Another problem that I can bring up about someone wearing a band t-shirt but not knowing a single song 🎵 of that particular band, is not knowing the band members or a band's history.

I learned about Pierce The Veil through the Call of Duty "Trick shotting" scene back in 2010-2011. People would make clips for youtube and insert Pierce The Veil's music in them, and I thought it sounded awesome and did more digging and Caraphernelia was the first music video I saw and was instantly hooked.

Megadeth was the band that really inspired me to play guitar when I was young. And let me say, as a young teen starting to play, exploring Megadeth was just a treasure trove of tasty guitar fodder. They became my favorite band and learning their stuff allowed me to dig in and excel faster and further than my other guitar peers, I think.

This is just the common problem with post-hardcore/metalcore/emo/scene music. It's gatekeeping to the MAX. I found PTV when I was a Sophomore/Junior in highschool in 2010/2011. I was in love with their music and pirated it onto an MP3 player. I can't claim to love them more just because I knew them in the "New national anthem" and "Bulletproof love" phase more then the current one.

American society is the most dysfunctional thing in history of this planet. A Third World Country wrapped in a First world Country cover. A metalhead like Phil stating that feminism is a disease when literally "feminism" means equality between genres is so freaking brutal. This turd of a human being doesnt have two freaking seconds to read whats the definition of that word , but instead he believes what the cattle believes. Embarrasing that I once listened to his mediocre band.

3:14 There's racism everywhere. There are some white supremacist rappers, EDM itself is pretty ethnically homogeneous, and yes, even punk and hardcore have "issues" with racism. Oi and skinhead punks, while not inherently racist, do draw a certain type of crowd and were the driving force behind the Rock Against Communism movement. Agnostic Front's song "Public Assistance" has the lines "How come it's minorities who cry? Things are too tough, on TV with their gold chains." Doesn't seem very PC to me. And as someone who's been to a hatebreed show and seen just as many swastikas there as I saw at all 3 slayer shows I've attended, I can tell you that hardcore has a racist element too. But that said, here something anecdotal: my friend who is a mexican immigrant and went to a lot of shows with me has shared joints with nazis at shows on multiple occasions and its always been chill. Not saying they're good guys, I just mention that to point out that usually when people go to shows they leave their bullshit at the doors

I was handed a copy of Selfish Machines in high school, 2010. It was a burned CD and written in sharpie on top said “PTV” and I was told listen to the whole album. Start to finish. To this day I still listen to that album. Along with all of the other ones. From start to finish. I love the music. Always will. These guys could be 80 years old and put a new album out and I’m sure it would be nostalgic and up to date at the same time.

Big fan of TDWP. That said, I haven't really connected with anything post Space EP. Bands evolve and TDWP shifted into as direction that I didn't resonate with. It doesn't mean that music is bad, and it doesn't mean I've dismissed their new stuff altogether. I still wish them the best.
