They are also connected to the Albaz lore with Aluber the Jester of Despia summoning them but it goes deeper Aluber can be seen on a booster pack with the first fallen one of the darklords the packs name beginning of the apocalypse. this book was incredibly depressing to go through before i stopped being religious and was probably part of why i left it. when i learned later it was very definitely just crazy spiteful fantasies about bad stuff happening to ancient Rome it helped further alleviate a lot of the anxieties it gave me as teenager. Bystials are one of my favorite archetypes out of the newer sets the last few years and i probably wouldn't have made this connection on my own tbh

I hadn’t studied the Bible much as a kid so I’m reading a lot of this stuff for the first time as an adult. It makes analyzing everything strange because I get to see all of the opinions from both sides right away rather than growing up set in one belief and then trying to reconcile it later. It’s odd to see how differently it can be interpreted depending on which side of the aisle you stand.
