I have to say that finding this podcast has been a gift. With the episodes dropping weekly, a podcast that takes a deeper dive into each episode is needed even more. Listening to how each Actor takes on a scene and how they work off other actors to breathe life into the roles captured on camera adds layers to the show and the time spent watching it. This builds up with the comments that are posted. Where I read about how other people have taken in the show. Which I get to share with other fans on other sites or my close friends. Without this podcast and all the little connections to it. The weekly release of the Expanse would be torturous. Thanks to Ty and Wes for this add-on.

Drummer really has been such a great character and that scene on Marco's bridge is just perfect, but the quality of all the scenes on the Marco's ship have been so well performed , the use of body language on that set is so convincing and is taking the world the Expanse to a even higher level of realism, i am kinda wondering what is kinda going on there, its a subtle difference but a noticeable uptick in the quality of an already great show .

I have really loved the character of Drummer so much since seeing her fight her personal and emotional battle when her spine was crushed on the Behemoth. Throughout her storyline, all her history has been implied through the deep loyalty, or not, that she expresses towards people. A lot of the Expanse storylines have a theme of making families when the characters are separated from people they belong to. Drummer has always seemed autonomous and still looking for where she really belongs. So, it's so good to see her finding that.

Again, Wes really comes out with the greatest questions about the characters and really draws out what are the layers these characters have in personailties and motivations. Keon' discription of Marcos pain starting as a whimper, then a cry, and then a punch is something we can all relate to as we grow up in life. Bullying as a child, the hurdles to overcome as a teen, the struggles with an young adult and so on.... then building this into a tension that is about to break. Most good villians are villians who believe that they are doing something right for the general good, but with such a conviction that they do it all the wrong way (Thanos anyone) And Drummer is the opposite of this as the hero who is put in between the rock and the hard vacuum of space. Keep up these aftershows. As a writer of science fiction and sword fantasy myself, I really related to this medium.... great job Wes and Ty !!!! Great performances Cara and Keon !!!!! I am still watching this and got to the point that Ty mention the Samurai code of believing you are dead so that you have no fear / emotion ... funny that I also do Japanese Iaido called Ryushin Shouchi Ryu under Yahagi-sensei (KZbin videos) and I made a similar comment about this on The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 5 The Jedi where the ending was strictly Kurosawa with the wind before the showdown between Ahsoka and the magistrate, and on the outside it was the classic western showdown between the Mandalorian and Michael Bhien's character who paraphrase his lines from Tombstone (Jonny Ringo)... This is what great writing and storytelling is all about. !!!

Keon's approach towards learning about Marco's character is brilliant. His words are instrumental for how we can eliminate the divide in America. We can always find the precedence for why people are behaving the way they are. The grievances and needs grow, and what starts as a whimper can end up in the willingness to harm others. We often see people as one-dimensional characters, how they are showing up now, but don't see how our institutions, economies, law enforcement and repetitive messaging about what we should care about and protect make us who we are today.

I don't know I admit at the end of Gaugamela I may have stood up and pumped a fist... and shouted a little beltalowda. That speech so well written and delivered. lol Marco is so right... the stars can't be blemished by the failed corporate state that is Earth, nor the neo communist war machine non artist society of the Martians. The more you share the more your bowl will be plentiful... if humans are going to populate the galaxy the belters are the best of us. Maro probably saved 1,000s of billions of future Humans in 1,000 star systems from becoming the next wave of disposable humans... from his perspective (and probably all belters) its clear the inners will rush to all 1,000 ring systems and their societies will exploit the people that go there in the same way they have exploited belters till the end of time. But love or hate the character your right Keon is a great actor and seems like a all around good dude. I love how dialed in he is with Marco... when he said Marco was a single father I laughed out loud. He is living Marco still. :)

Loving this episode. Never seen Avasaralla being so visibly shaken before, Bobby and Alex's stunts, Amos and Clarissa's relationship whatever it is (I'm glad it's back to just them two, honestly I was a bit disappointed when the officers and Tiny were joining them, these minor characters ruined the mood and the depth of Amos' journey so far tbh, but now they're no longer with them and we're back to the most beautifully shot and intimate journey of this season), and I didn't expect to grow fondness of Monica. I want more from Drummer's and Naomi's arc, nothing much to offer yet this episode, though they're still progressing.

I agree, one thing I love about the show is the villains all have sensible reason for acting the way they do. Errinwright, Mao, Clarrisa, Asheford, even Murtry all had good reasons for why they did bad things.
@robparr20193 жыл бұрын
@@rangelo7281 it’s true. One is reminded of the phrase ‘fascination of the abomination’. In Clarissa’s case, we see her rehabilitation for her crimes. Ashford made the same journey, on the TV show at least. They all made understandable choices

Story of divided loyalities is the best story, look at Filip and Clarissa, Clarissa was on revenge mission against Holden because she blaimed him for fall of her familly but ends up making a friend which is member of Holden's inner circle, on the other hand Filip was raised by his father but as we all know mom is mom and usually she is that closest person you have in life that is not your kid, and the situation where your closest people are against each other to be sane and normal is very hard! Every story of divided loyality in Scifi was among top stories, Toray Ziyal from DS9 or Odo from DS9, Sharon Valeri aka Boomer and Sharon Agathon BSG, Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker from Star Wars and even book Jamie and Tyrion Lannister (that's fantasy but ok), divided loyality is like a endles inspiration for good story
