About The Expanse:
The disappearance of rich-girl-turned-political-activist Julie Mao links the lives of Ceres detective Joe Miller (Thomas Jane), accidental ship captain James Holden (Steven Strait) and U.N. politician Chrisjen Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo). Amidst political tension between Earth, Mars and the Belt, they unravel the single greatest conspiracy of all time.
About The Expanse Seasons 2:
In this noir thriller set two hundred years in the future, the case of a missing young woman leads a washed-up detective across the solar system to uncover the greatest conspiracy in human history.
About The Expanse Seasons 3:
As the Rocinante crew digs deeper into the search for Prax's missing daughter, the war between Earth and Mars turns deadly in ways the solar system has never seen. But a new threat in the outer reaches of the Belt could prove much more dangerous, threatening to test the very future of humanity.
About The Expanse Seasons 4:
Season 4 of The Expanse, its first as a global Amazon Original, begins a new chapter for the series with the crew of the Rocinante on a mission from the U.N. to explore new worlds beyond the Ring Gate. Humanity has been given access to thousands of Earth-like planets which has created a land rush and furthered tensions between the opposing nations of Earth, Mars and the Belt. Ilus is the first of these planets, one rich with natural resources but also marked by the ruins of a long dead alien civilization. While Earthers, Martians and Belters maneuver to colonize Ilus and its natural resources, these early explorers don’t understand this new world and are unaware of the larger dangers that await them.
About The Expanse Seasons 5:
In different parts of the Solar System, the crew of the Rocinante and their allies confront the sins of their past, while Marco Inaros unleashes an attack that will alter the future of Earth, Mars, the Belt, and the worlds beyond the Ring.

Loved how the show brought in Naomi's Gamarra code, her shank attempt on Marco and that shoutout to Miller in her access to doors and corners on the Pella. Holden couldn't find the code of course, but how come he didn't even check the Roci for sabotage when he knew Sakai worked on it? Jasai was great too. His scene with Marco was so realistic and his words tipped off Naomi to the Roci being in danger. You could see the wheels click together in her mind.

@DodderingOldMan
@DodderingOldMan 3 жыл бұрын
I strongly suspect (and hope) that there will be more seasons. According to Wikipedia, the creators see the end of season 6 as a pause rather than a conclusion. And... small spoiler alert for the books... there is a big time gap between the events we'll be seeing in season 6 and what comes after in the books, so it would make sense to pause it there, if anywhere. My bigger concern, as someone who's read all the books, is that apparently the next book is the last, and there is NO WAY they can wrap it all up satisfactorily in one book. In fact, in some ways it seems they're building up to a whole new story arc that would take 3 books at least to explore properly.

@Zwenk Wiel Good point, I think it may be that they aren't so much concerned with blood pooling in the extremities as it is just for the heart to pump blood effectively at high acceleration Gs, also directional changes are so fast the suit may not have time to keep up where the blood is pooling which I figure would depend on the orientation of the seats during acceleration. Also it may be due to the likelihood of a redout is just as high as a blackout with how a micro gravity vacuum craft moves vs. an atmospheric craft. For the Razorback I think the reorientation of the seats will preserve the orientation of gravity and allow the blood to pool in the best places in sustained maneuvers, I thought that was an excellent touch when we first saw it a few season back.

I think Wes/ Burton/Amos/Timothy really nails this narrative show. As a science fiction writer myself, the information, the in-depth feelings of the writers, directors and actors coming together is awesome for feedback. I watched the episode an hour ago and then I jump to my Kindle to watch this after watching a reaction video from some fans. This type of information really fleshed out what a writer/ author needs to do for great story telling. Five Stars, two thumbs up ... Keep this up and I am looking forward to next weeks episode. !!!!!!

I gotta say, the destroyed prison surface set, while really well done, it DID look like a set, mostly because the wide shots mostly showed the low wall with the green screen fog composited in, which wasn't necessary, because when the wide shots faced the high wall and barely showed the landscape, it looked so much more realistic. We really only needed one wide shot, at the end, and I think it should have gone REALLY wide and shown a blasted, gray landscape. Love you guys all so much, don't take this as me saying that I don't appreciate all your hard work!!

What's great about the show is that it establishes a logic, which is then followed, and they tell stories within the world. I think season 1 being slow is okay, because it built the foundation for all these stories.

Thanks for putting together these debrief sessions, it really adds depth, richness, and appreciation for the show and the work of the whole crew. I didn’t read the books (yet) so I can enjoy the incredible creativity, hard work, and science put into bringing life to these episodes. Keep up the great work guys. BTW, when are you publishing Wes’s training workout?

Not to give spoilers, but the way Philip decides his path in the books resonates in the discussion @ min 13. Hoping that the show follows this as much as it can. It was one of the story arcs in books 5 & 6 that was so well done.

Jasai is the perfect casting ! He was a star this episode! The Expanse is the best Hard Scfi show in the world ! For example that Fusion example! An intense episode!!!! Amos was the MVP all the way fighting Tiny!!! Naomi was brilliant and saved Holden!

I've read some criticism of the weekly episode release. I LOVE IT!!! It harkens back to episodic network television. In addition, I have the opportunity to review previous episodes to lock in my understanding of the complex story arcs. To see "Amos" throttled by Boomer was a hoot! I'm a baby boomer. At a time when there was one tv in four households, I had my own tv because my father built one for me from spare parts. I grew up on sci-fi horror movies, Star Trek, I saw Star Wars when it was released; I am that old! The Expanse has reset the bar on what quality television and science fiction should be. I eagerly await each episode, and in the interim I review previous episodes. Too much fun! Thanks to the production team and actors!

I find it so funny that Amos is the Host/lead interwiewer! He seems have real fun doing it and a very nice host! The cast of Naomi's son is really good and its true they look like a lot, like he is is real son or his little brother. The actor did a great job also.

Again, with every new season, with every new episode this show continuously displays an embarrassment of riches with regards to the talent in front of and behind the camera. For Jasai to be a new upcoming actor his on screen presence and abilities are top notch. Whoever's in charge of casting for The Expanse deserves their flowers!

Did Ty just throw shade on Cas Anvar? "Shut up and read the dialog I wrote" as opposed to Cas's planning of his 'ad libs' that he admitted to in a behind the scenes promo for last season. Edit: It was the double up day video for season 3.
