As much as I'm impressed by how little Wes is like Amos, I don't think there's a bigger gulf between actor and character than Cara Gee and Drummer. She's so bubbly and fun and enthusiastic, and yet she's so intense and stormy when she's onscreen. A really great performance, and this week was phenomenal.

But you can call Avasarala immovable, because she's always the boss, even when she's not, and you can call Drummer unstoppable, because whether she's going for a walk with a broken back or space pirating with a broken heart, you'd better not be in the way.

Shohreh is as commanding, eloquent, and dignified as Avasarala (I love how she kept doing a play-bow to Ty). Cara Gee's bubbly personality is like the opposite of Drummer. They're both incredible actors who steal every scene that they're in. Also, I want to point out that Ty's dedication to his creation - as a novelist, as a screenwriter, as a producer - is what made this show work so well. As the co-creators, he and Dan know the material better than anyone, and they have kept things fluid; they take criticism of the books constructively and take actor insights and performance into account when refining their script.

What speaks more than the theatrics of all of this is the build up of the background of how you can have two people that are, in a very real sense, secondary characters, given enough build up throughout the show, layered very well, grow and percolate to become incendiary forces that nearly outweigh the primary characters of the main plot within their own subplots. That is some outstanding writing! And to see two excellent performers carry it off so well: outstanding!!! Thank you!!!

Avasarala’s outfit in the scene where she meets Drummer is one of the best costume choices I’ve ever seen. It’s so dialed in to the context and weight of the scene. Amazing.

My favorite line this season was when Walker, Stewart Hughes says, "Marco he doesn't like me. I intimidate him.... sexually." I lmfao!!! Walker is by far my favorite new character this season. I wish he was introduced to the show earlier. Great Belter accent and makes a good line great with his performance. He even made the amputation seen funny. Hope he gets interviewed next week or in an upcoming episode.

In a show that is 100% filled with outstanding actors/actresses, just one more bravo to Cara Gee. IMO, the most incredible work out of an already incredible cast. Drummer was my #1 favourite character in any show and you brought it to life like no other. Such respect!

I have to assume these follow-up shows were all shot around the time the shooting of the episodes wrapped and the shows had been completed (any post production work was complete and the episodes could be viewed). Were they all shot over a day or two or did they space them out? The cast brought onto these podcasts had to be reasonably available - both physically and in terms of scheduling. They do not feel scripted, thank god. Whoever decided to do these podcasts was brilliant. There is not another series that I recall in which the writers and actors discussed the process of making the shows and the choices made in production. It opens up a whole different perspective. Seeing actors out of character and discussing their characters is fascinating. Ty Franke seems like a genuinely good guy - and he provides an interesting perspective having written the books and then seeing his work turned into a series. I especially liked the previous episode with the other writer discussing working on the scripts. Major props!

This has been great, both the after-show episodes for last season and this, and the rewatches. As for others, there was The Babylon Podcast, about Babylon 5. It was done years later, but Jeffrey Willerth, one of the hosts, was a producer on the show. So, he had the contacts to bring virtually the entire cast and crew in for individual interviews. They did in-depth episode discussions, as well, as Wes and Ty have been doing for the past seasons. The podcast actually went on longer than the five-year run of the show, and is a comprehensive appraisal, both on-screen and behind the scenes.

When Cara Gee crashed the episode that Keon Alexander guested on after episode 3 ("This is for Ashforrrrrrrd!"), she was wearing the same clothes, so I assume they just rotated through the guests and recorded all these in one go.

Cara's performance is so amazing. It'd be so simple to play Drummer as just a hard emotionless empty person... but the way she plays it you see the cost and weight of every decision and sacrifice. I teared up during the "F-you" scene, well written and perfectly delivered.

The scene with Naomi is one of my favorites. Drummer realized that her destiny is to cooperate with earth, and it nearly destroys her emotionally. It's against everything she has believed and what guided her path to this point. Definitely a broader lesson here applicable to many other IRL situations.

Drummer and Avarasala are two of the best drawn characters in the long history of science fiction shows on TV. Both actresses swing for the fences in every scene that their in. Everytime that Shohreh does one of these shows or cast forums/reunions, she's like a kid in a candy store. She's a joy to watch.

Then the first episode airs and the youtube notification blinks: Ty and that guy have an aftershow. I almost skipped forward the episode itself just to be able to watch the aftershow. Thank you, guys, not only for the masterpiece that is The Expanse but also for the laughs and the fascinating insights you provided us with on this channel!

The 3 actors are really appealing people who have had great roles on the Expanse. I hope at some point they will also say their characters, what they do, their place - were created by writers. And the actor is to bring what is in the mind of the writer to life. It's symbiotic, when the result is excellent and career enhancing..

Shohreh really brought Chrisjen to life. The entire cast of this show did amazing work. Having read all of the books 8 times, (2 times before the show and again before each season) I can't think of another book that has been re-created on screen so well. The team behind this should all receive a collective award for best adaptation of a book in the history of video. It would be called "The Rocinante" and it would be awarded each year going forward :)

As much as I love all the other major characters in this series, these two are my favorites. The actresses clearly put in 1000% every single time they're on screen. And in interviews like these, they are clearly completely different people than their characters. Future acting teachers like the ones Wes mentioned, will use these actresses performances to show excellence.
