Honestly, great job. I feel like there was always a shortage of gameplay videos for long strategy games, like Civ, mostly since noone can really watch through 20+hrs of gameplay, but you manage to narrate, condense and edit it in a way that makes it feel fast paced. Incredible.

I hope to see you use Hungary's levy ability/gimmick at some point, even if you just conquer one civ and don't go full domination. Even though I get the basic idea of a timing push with a levy, I would be interested in picking up some tips on optimizing this strategy from you.

A good way is to pick up Amani immediately and produce diplomatic favour and sell that off. And especially when playing as Hungary try to complete as many quests as possible, even if you have to go a little out of your way to do so. And always make use of the double envoy card! Hungary can get extremely rich through diplo favour and a lot quicker than Mali can.

Btw, sweden usually pays around 2 gold per turn for diplo favor, and you can buy diplo favor from other civs for 10 gold

its random: meaning that sweden may not buy it for 60 gold (2 g for 30 turns=2•30=60) and other ai's may not buy it for 10. depends on if they're wealthy on diplo favor if they are going for a diplomatic vic or if you have a lot or little diplo favor

Hi Potato! Massively enjoying your Civ games, as always! :) At 9:05 you say you'd love a mod that allows you to ban certain civs from being generated by the AI. I couldn't agree more! Any modders you think you could hit up about this? I'm sure that would be a very successful mod: Still getting to have the surprise of who the AI randomly generated, while knowing that your buzzkill civ (Korea for you, wondergrabbing China for me!) won't be there... :D

The AI also likes to forward settle you. Coal or some other resource is certainly possible, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was just Korea being a dick.

You start similar to me and expand similar as well. I would have just taken the coast though. One thing to consider though, frigate armadas, especially against even or lower tech, will melt any coastal city. Melee invaders are great because amphibious, plus the islands are small enough that the speed is fine. Remember on water you go fast anyway. Just because gold is great for settlement spam, do not neglect industrial plexes. You probably want a double if possible, it is very important for multiple things. Communism is actually super strong because of the food bonus to internal trade, especially so on smaller islands and tundra. You are going to have plenty of money. I think there is a way to get a battleship to range 4? But on small islands, a battleship armada is already gg. You won't get to flight. Naturally playing Victoria on these settings basically breaks the game. Also consider piracy. Pillage coasts, you get a truckload of money.

Chopping provides production that can be spend on buildings also producing production (or something else). You pretty much invest the production and the return in the end will net you higher overall revenues because every turn that a e.g. A granary produces is worth a lot

#PotatoMcWhiskey why you don't use new updated production from lumber mils. I the early game lumber mils provide 2 production, mine only 1 since last patch. And you can build lumber mils on rainforest when research mercantilism. You can have rainforest tiles with 2 food, 5 production and 1 science easily. Sometimes you can add 2 culture on top of that witn Chiczen Itza.

One extra tip: If you have two hils(or minable reasource and hill) with forest or rainforest on it chop it for extra adjacency. But if you have hill with forest or rainforest and normal plains with or without forest or rainforest leave it because adjacency. Builders can plant wood. Less builder charges.

What's going on man, missing that Akkad had 6 envoys before you even put in your third. You missed the 12 gold 3 science trade route. Also, you can't build a dam on that tile I'm pretty sure, isn't that only a single river tile? But that's par for whiskey, where do dams go? Who knows!
