The F-16C is Still Stupidly Good in Sim - War Thunder

So regarding multipathing, it is currently just a flat value, when it should be highly dependent on the angle of the emitting radar, also ARH missiles are much less affected by multipath, and it really only affects the missile during the last 2 seconds of flight. not to mention multipath shouldn't affect targets above water.

Multipath does affect targets above water cause of incomplete reflection but this effect will be much much weaker cause water reflects only 3% of rays if there’s no oil/gas on the water surface otherwise this effect will be almost as strong as if the plane flew above the ground cause of total internal reflection(but still, it doesn’t effect ARH missiles or any radar missiles and PD radars while rays emitter is higher than the target) And anyway, in WT it is a flat value and it is more than 10 times higher than max value for any radar missile and PD radars even from the 80s like 7M or 27R(max value for both missiles and their carrier’s radars is 5-10m above the ground and ~1m above clean water)

The 2 biggest issues I have with Sim right now is that there is no overspeed warning for any aircraft and the repairs costs are insane. If I'm flying the Mirage 2000: I'm checking my radar, making sure to adjust my radar and missiles, and/or watching a target on my HUD so watching my speed is not my first priority but since the Mirage 2000 has a very strong engine, even on stage 1 afterburner I can rip my wings without even knowing it. Stuff like the F-16C with the Betty voice has warnings like, "critical speed!" so with the F-16C its not an issue but the Mirage 2000 doesn't have any cockpit voice warnings so if I'm not watching my speed I could rip my wings without even knowing which half my deaths in Sim have been a result of. Speaking of death in Simulator, the repair costs are 'pay to spawn' so they haven't yet been reverted to the standard issue Air RB repair costs of repair cost per minute which means that you are already in debt as soon as you spawn in. What's worse is that if you join an active game of Simulator that's almost over you have to spent said silver lions to spawn only for the game to end and you just wasted your money on nothing. The rewards for killing enemies and ground targets isn't even remotely better so most Sim games I could have gotten more silver lions by playing Air RB for an equal amount of time and saved more silver lions on the better Air RB repair cost. I have premium time and if I get a K/D of 1/1 I'm still in debt. The only way you don't lose money in Sim is by playing a premium for the lower repair cost + premium time to earn enough money to equal your death to a net zero loss. Sorry for the off topic rant but I just wanted to vent for a bit

Hello Man try to check out war thunder real time information wtri u can do a lot in there and u can set red light or sound warning on specific speed so u have "betty" in anything you want plus u have many bonus info about ur plane and u can't get banned for it I have been playing with it like a year and made me much more effective with energy and rate fighting

A tip is to get a kill or 2, or hit a base, then RTB immediately. You get far more rewards if you survive and land than dying, and you get to keep your aircraft. Can make hundreds of thousands in a game if you do it right.

9ms ruin sim. You can’t see them at all and by the time you hear them it’s to close to flare. I’ve had multiple instances of me looking directly at a f16 ready to flare when I just die instantly to a 9m that didn’t render in at all.

@@goliath3413 yea we need stuff like su27sm , atleast it gets 192 flares (double the amount in su27) its not much but its better. also if we get an awacs in war thunder it will help a lot , just knowing that someone is close to you will tell a lot and get you prepared for aim9ms/r27ets.

@@invictosrec try using su27s radar , f16c will use targeting pod with thermals and spot you or spot you through rwr and turn off their own radars. Brother I got f16c/15c/su27/sm/mig29smt/m2k I know which of these suffer the most

My biggest complaint with the C is the radar gun sight change... the funnel is a nice addition outside of lock but inside lock only having that tiny dot to put on the enemy is a massive downgrade from how much easier the larger nipple looking sight is from the ADF

i agree the aim9m is way better, bc you cant dodge what you cant see also do you use controller? I have tried sim before, but i dont have a controller or trackIR, so i end up using a vr headset should i consider just using my monitor and use a joystick on my hotas?

Yeah,. been there, enjoyed the top tier sim for a while but ultimatelly returned back to play props exclusivelly for sim as there is pretty much no skill required in top tier sim and all depends on avionics, at least much much less than energy fighting in props.

That's what happens with uncoordinated teams. Everyone has to go up and suppress the Su-27's even if Aim 7's don't hit, for years now, and even with introduction of "useful actions "(which fixed nothing btw, if you're reading this Gaijin) most people are too egoistical to put in actual teamwork.

As soon as you get locked go defensive lol, it’ll only take like 3 min of defensive play for you to make the su27 get bored and choose some one else by that time you can lock an aim7m throw it at him then hit a 70 degree crank to the ground so his r27 won’t touch you

It’s the same keybind to put the radar in ACM mode you hit it again to go into HMD and then you can switch between PD and SRCH while in HMD depending on what your target is doing

Press y or idk what keybind you have set up for the little green mini menus, press on the cockpit option, and then on the very top it says turn on hmd indicator and it will pop out when ever you look away from the hud even while in tws I believe it’s default key number 8

You should (re?)visit the J7E, same unparalleled SA because of having the same RWR, and very good heaters for the BR. Its like a mini F16 at 11.0.

I got the F16 MLU with J7E, same RWR, no radar needed, but it was a pain in SB because you're lumped up against the best and you can't do BVR. Now that's changed with removal of China from NATO teams due to introduction of J-11 so you might have a chance with all the R27 busses on your team.

J-7E being the type of monster that it is + being consistently tiered against brainlet F-14A downtier pilots means you can literally make entire servers ragequit. I’ve actually won several games from just cyber bullying 11.7 teams so hard they get tired of my shit and leave

It's great, but also no. You aren't going to kill anything if you aren't a great pilot. I've seen players that are absolute garbage that paid their way to the top only to realize that you need to work your way through all of the jets to get the experience needed to fly in top tier aircraft, especially in RB and SIM

Go to settings and change some things about the Radar, after that set controls for the Radar. There are a lot of tutorials for that.
