I'm sure this has been said a thousand times, but.. I am a Christian and I thoroughly enjoy this song, and many other songs that are critical towards my beliefs. I like to keep an open mind and the best thing about these kind of songs is that they do a fantastic job of highlighting my religion's overall ignorance of any form of logic; their beliefs are based entirely off the dependence of a deity and they completely shut out the possibility of the integration of any form of logic or reason.

All 3 albums were absolutely incredible and I don't have a bad thing to say about any of them. But the progession this band has gone through is absolutely astounding. Akeldama (Larva) was like straight up brutal and technical death metal with a hint of prog. Planetary Duality (Chrysalis) was technical brutal death metal and proggy as hell. But Autotheism is their Butterfly album, they have left the cocoon and transformed into this incredibly deep and intelligent progressive techdeath band.

That's because Sumerian started out as what seemed to be a metal record label. I've been a fan of The Faceless since before they released the first album. The Faceless made a really nice impact on the metal community when they released 'Akeldama' and helped to bring Sumerian to life. Sumerian has had a name since way before AA. I can't say that The Faceless is the only band responsible for Sumerian's success, but they've had a large part in getting it where it's at today.

3:32 You're welcome :D
@AlienSpace66612 жыл бұрын
Yes, that was part of my original comment. Someone laughed at the idea of The Faceless being a huge part of Sumerian and a large portion of the foundation. I commented that The Faceless was Sumerian's first band on the label and that they're just as responsible for Sumerian's success as any other band on the label.

Actually I'm a missionary, but it's nice to know that even a fellow Christian like yourself takes the side of these people who support those who persecute us. It's not just lyrics, and people do take these words to heart. And It doesn't matter if no one else cares. Christ demands we pick up our cross and follow him, so it's not good that you follow these people who stand against Christ. I love metal, so be careful not to judge. I've been playing metal for 20 years on my Jackson Warrior XT!

I'm a Christian and my favorite genre is black metal. Are you really going to stop listening to an amazing band like The Faceless just because you disagree with them?
@NEWSUPERCHARGER20013 жыл бұрын
This album got me to like Technical Death Metal at 16 years old, I remember it like it was yesterday. I was listening to The Eidolon Reality by fluke on shuffle with my IPod and then BOOM! I was acutally bobbing my head to it, I was then intrigued on the album from my cousin who was into all sorts of death metal at our age and I actually ended giving this genre a shot! Still not hugely into this genre but can respect now that I actually like some of it now, I'm really just a The Faceless, Altar of Grief, Indian, Death and small Cannibal Corpse fan. I like death metal/black metal here and there now, like Burzum, Darkthrone, Necrophagist, bunch of other ones I know now cuz of my cousin. Super good stuff, we're not really SUPER into Metal Music now, but then we were, he's more experimental post rock kind of guy now I'm more into obscure yet still popular metal and rock bands with touches of noise rock psych rap hip hop technical metal stuff nowadays. Being a kid into this music for the first time was super fun, man I miss that time!

The reason this album came out at the perfect time is because they already have 2 tech-death albums, one of which is a masterpiece while the other comes damn near close to be one, so when you're sick of tech-death you can go to a more progressive album like this, and not a too progressive one (Opeth for instance)
@Bones12x212 жыл бұрын
I think this album is great. If people want something that sounds generic relative to the genre then there will always be dozens of bands willing to pump out variations of songs that we have all heard before. I really enjoy clean vocals with heavy music. It adds a nice dynamic when done well, plus clean vocals can have a lot more variety and depth so things don't get stale.
