I really like the Faculty. One of those movies I've watched multiple times, but not for a few years now. I actually think the concept is perfect for a streaming show remake. It's the kind of plot that would benefit from the extended run time of a show. Netflix would do a good job with it I think, if it was more like Stranger Things in tone than their Scream remake. If they set it in the 90s that would be amazing, so that the ability for research and communication would be hampered by the lower access to technology... I remember watching the Faculty for the first time and thinking it should be more famous. Glad it's considered a cult classic now.

I've wanted to see this movie and I'm not even into the horror genre. Not because I don't want to be scared, but I want to see some originality in them. Marketing is EVERYTHING and that APPLIES to everything. For instance, NBC barely advertised Manifest, a show I actually like, explaining why the ratings were average to low and they cancelled them because of it. But when it was added on Netflix, it was #1 on the most watched list for probably two and a half months, leading to them ordering another season of the show! Or how big another show I like You was when they added that show as part of their content and ordered another season after Lifetime cancelled it. But even before the renewal, so many people suddenly talked about it as if it's brand new and originated from Netflix even though it started on Lifetime.

Another component to take into consideration is that the sci-fi horror subgenre was not particularly successful at the box office during the mid to late 90s. However, I feel like I should revisit it now. I have a feeling that I would actually like it 22 years later because I have more context for it.
