Tarkov actually was/is a booming success, just like Star Citizen (the scale is vastly different, but the idea is the same) - that kind of project never has a stable release among its main goals. The whole point is to stay in early access for as long as possible, making as much money as possible and prolonging public interest by adding content from time to time. That way a huge amount of development effort (i.e. profits) can be "saved" by not fixing all the bugs or adding all the features (the game just needs to run somewhat stable, no need to get it perfect). When profits eventually dry up even despite adding new content, they're going to abandon the game and that's it - it was in early access anyways, no obligations to anyone, auf wiedersehen.

It's astonishing how greedy BSG is, they charged 160+ euro for their "limited" edition wich was bought by at least 70% of the playerbase, made milions of dollars and still couldn't invest them properly to polish the game and release within a reasonable amount of time. The problem with arena is that Tarkov combat system as much as the chads try and make it be it will never be a run and gun type game. Arena should have much larger maps but with respawn or something so you can get still get that slow strategic game play while not worrying about dying and spending 15 mins in stash and 5 mins looking for the next game.

I also asked in the forums for a refund, since I bought the Edge of Darkness edition (yes, shoot me) eons ago. They promised back then if you bought the EoD edition all DLC's in the future would be free. But now they added more "packs" you can buy that are more expensive and you get even more P2W perks.

The numbers may have gone down slightly after the initial announcement of the Unheard edition, but overall EfT's numbers have been going up in average. The trend loooks like it is turning again now, where the numbers go up again. No such thing as bad publicity I guess.

Not really. The only thing you saved was meds which you could easily find en masse in a SCAV run. What made EoD pay to win was the starting rep. That's ~4 quests per trader that you didn't need to do to get the next tier of gear.

That is NOT p2w, it’s pay for convenience. Having a gamma or kappa over an alpha isn’t going to give you the edge in a gunfight or make a scav not agro you, it’s just nice to have. Same thing with rep. It’s not going to allow you to have prapor send in the vdv to help you out in raid, it’s just a time saver.

Stalker is about writen dialogue options and exploring zone, interacting with npc's being like tool to get what you need.

Reminds me of when War Thunder's devs basically told people to "git gud" in response to some vehicles having repair costs so high you had to kill half the enemy team to pay for the repairs. I've reached a point where I simply won't spend money on promises or things which could retroactively be made worse anymore. As far as Star Citizen goes, I'll most likely start selling at least part of my stuff towards the end of the year if no massive improvements are made. I'm simply tired of "games need your support" bs, when in reality you know those studios just burn trough money without delivering results, like your average politician. I know politics ain't in the right place here, but IMO everyone who throws their money at Russian Games while having part of their taxes used to support the Ukraine deserves every bit of disappointment it gets them. PS: Isn't Tarkov on Unity, which (despite massive outrage) changed to a rather predatory pricing policy? If so, I guess those two companies deserve each other.

EOD tarkov owner since 2019, havent been able to play since the invasion started, esp with nikita buyanov's friendship and support of 715 crew both nikita and battlestategames should be on sanctions list

I will say, and a lot of the community more or less agrees, that the old additional tiers did not offer much advantage in combat. A skilled player with basic weapons can generally kill unskilled geared up EOD players without much difficulty. It was also not uncommon for some EOD players to sell the expensive guns they got for more cheaper ones to reduce their risk loss (or just kept then for later. You can also find a better secure container in game than the one given to EOD (which gave 2 extra slots). The big advantages were bigger stash space, and more starting equipment preventing the player from being wiped out as quickly. This new edition however is on a totally other level, offering massive advantages in the field and back in base. At the time I wonder why BSG would decide to remove EOD, and guessed rightly they were going to pull something shady

you made a bit of a mistake about safety containers, the "gamma" (3x3) container is in EOD edition, the "beta" container (2x3) is in the 65$ edition, and the "alpha"(2x2) container is avaible at the cheapest edition. i don't think it's a big difference, but it does make the early game easier for eod owners. I've played extensively on all 3 different editions of the game over my time with it, it's less of an advantage than you would think

Fact is, there are more and more blue names in the game and servers have been popping off just as they have before. The reason is because they don't always get called Cheaters but do get called Hackers, and they're not hacking anything. *In Fact,* not even the 3rd party developers of the Exploits are Hacking anything, what they're actually doing is distributing what are essentially Admin Tools to regular players. EFT itself is what is sending out *ALL* the information to the Exploit Mods, and all the Exploits do is make that otherwise Hidden information Visible. Now, I grant you, this isn't Fair but I have a counter argument for that, too. Warfare is *Frequently* Not Fair, and there are No Rules which say Real Life War means everyone is fighting on a level playing field. *Clearly,* a ultra modern military force is going to have access to technology and equipment which completely swings the balance into their favor, and *even so,* they can be defeated by irregular guerilla tactics by a determined enough enemy that also preserves a numerical advantage. Also, EFT isn't the only game to suffer from this particular issue. DayZ is another example of a game being ruined somewhat by 3rd Parties selling Exploits, but it's exactly the same as EFT otherwise. That is to say, anyone who has Admin privileges on a Community DayZ server has exactly the same set of "Tools" that are available to the Cheaters, and therefore, the Cheaters are literally leveling the playing field with the Admins. Moreover, it's becoming fashionable to bad-mouth the Admins for *Abusing* their Admin powers.... but you can't really call them Cheaters.

Nothing special really. This is how any fps/tps game works. Those things that are "cheated" are prerendered on a user pc. So it is only natural to have some alternative way to dig into the data that is already on a user pc. So far it goes that in some games lower graphic settings will hide bushes and tall grass behind which some other person on higher settings is trying to hide.
