As for the shield, if you recall, in Civil War, Spiderman comments on how the shield doesn't follow the laws of physics. Sam is just learning to react to his own throws and the shield's actions from them, just as anyone else would have to. Vibranium is a "tricky" substance, and the interpretations of its capabilities has varied over the years.
@dominiksain752913 сағат бұрын
It’s the lightest metal on earth if I’m not mistaken. So any adult human who’s physically fit should be able to throw it imo.
@richardyoung346212 сағат бұрын
Well, it's the transfer of energy, or the lack of it, that makes Vibranium odd. The way it bounces off of multiple targets without any loss of energy is where the real questions start. A normal item would lose energy in both directions as the item thrown and the target hit would both cause the energy of the throw to drop with each hit. As it appears to work in the films, it doesn't lose any energy from the throw, but seems to still deliver it with hits (targets being knocked back or down), which is what makes it "not right". Unless the MCU rationalizes that Vibranium has a "battery like" ability to "store" the energy applied (throwing) without losing any of it on contact (hitting targets) until someone or something literally grabs/stops it (allowing it to disperse/discharge from being at rest). Anyway, even the basic science of this is over my head and only guesses at best.

What makes this show so good to me and so many others from what I have heard is the struggle of not believing in yourself or being worthy. That’s the same feeling we get in Thor when he can’t lift the hammer and finding out what Odin is trying to teach him. Steve eventually picking up Mjornir. Sam doesn’t feel like he’s worthy to be the next Cap and the real fans understand that it can’t be Bucky with what he is going through mentally. Sam is the rightful choice and the whole time people that believe in him are disappointed that he can’t see what everyone else sees. Sometimes it takes outside opinion to help prove to yourself that you were worthy of something the whole time.

The comics version of Zemo was that he was the leader of the Masters of Evil, who fought against the Avengers. Since these stories were written in the early 1960's, Steve's freezing was to explain why he disappeared after the war, in order to be brought back, rather than to explain the 70 year gap. Heinrich Zemo was a major baddie, and although he did not appear in the comics in the 1940's (during the war), it was explained that he and Cap had battled it out during WWII when he showed up in the 60s. Zemo was credited with killing Bucky during the war, as Bucky was a young teenaged sidekick for the comics, and not a contemporary best friend. Zemo wore a purple head covering, and the original explanation was that Adhesive X prevented him from removing it. (It was an experimental adhesive, and the hood was stuck to his head.). Eventually, after not using him for a while, they brought his character back, but in the form of the original Zemo's son, Helmut Zemo. He went on to form the Thunderbolts, who temporarily replaced the Avengers, when they disappeared for a year. They were all former villains who had similar powers and dressed as the missing heroes, attempting to rehabilitate their criminal personas, not realizing it was Zemo leading them as Citizen V. The MCU tends to change things, because they don't have to come up with a story once a month and keep characters around, so there are obvious differences.

You got to remember, Vibranium is super light and strong. The sheild doesn't weigh the same as if it was made out of other metal. Anyone could throw it. The trick is getting the angles. It absorbs kinetic energy and kind of puts it into the shield, which is why it bounces like a rubber ball. Steve did it effortlessly because his mind could calculate the angles almost instantly due to the serum. But anybody who trains would be able to use it.

So Isaiah Bradley's monologue about what happened to him is based on a very horrific event that happened. It's called the "Tuskegee Experiment." I would definitely google all about it. The OTHER thing to mention about Isaiah's monologue is he did the EXACT same thing Steve did in the first Captain America move: He disobeyed orders to go save his fellow men in the military. However, they jailed Isaiah BUT they made Steve a hero. That's the big message I think they were trying to portray in the epic monologue.

The serum amplifies power…and that is dangerous. Erskin explained what the serum does…but it was Uncle Ben who best explained what someone with the serum needs. With Great Power comes…well, you know the line. What it truly means is someone who has taken the serum needs Great Restraint. Sometimes you have to hold back, because that punch can do more than hurt…it can injure. (And, out of the MCU, this applies to all forms of power…physical, economic, political…the effects of what you do with your power is amplified, so you have to use it with restraint…and, take responsibility for what you do, good or bad.) This episode lays John Walker bare. When he’s attacking Sam and Bucky, he’s hitting with full force, screaming “Why are you making me do this???” No responsibility. It also lays the government bare when Walker, rightfully, takes them to task. They take no responsibility either. And remember this as we wrap up the show, because the question of responsibility….this show takes a swing at saying how they can. And then there’s Zemo, and idealist who has done horrible things for his ideal, but also someone who, so far as we have seen, has also not fought to avoid responsibility or punishment for his actions. It is an interesting comparison. I LOVE this show for all its themes and deep questions. It’s not trying to be simple, and more shows need to be that.

In the comics, Torres inherits the wings and becomes Falcon when Sam gets a promotion. 10:55 That’s a monument for all the Sokovians who were killed by Ultron, not just Baron Zemo’s family. Also, his comment about not killing Bucky is not a joke. Zemo is Marvel’s Batman - no super powers, wealthy, and a super genius. His plans work. If he wanted to kill Bucky, he’d die. It’s part of what he was doing in episode 3. He snooped in Bucky’s notebook and kept pushing him to see if Bucky is good enough a person to be allowed to live as a super soldier.

What you miss in not being a comic reader or knowing the stories outside of the MCU is that Captain America is strong but he is not crazy super strong. Movies tend to make things bigger for entertainment affect. In the comics he is strong but he is what we would call peak human condition. The super soldier serum is sort of blown out of proportion in the MCU. Also the story is about heroes don't need things like the serum to make them heroes. This has also been an issue in the comics. In DC heroes were gods amongst men like Wonder Woman and Superman. In Marvel it is about regular people being given great powers and having great responsibility. Modern comic writers have been going against the comics of the past saying the power is not what makes you great or a hero. It should be about the person. Heroes are all around us in our everyday lives. We just don't look for them without the cape or the flashy powers. It is an interesting delimma but the super soldier serum is only making the characters the peak of what they would be as humans. Black Widow is suppose to have a version of it in her but nothing was as perfectly made as the one Steve had but Steve was about the person he was not the serum. The MCU has gone its own way but the issue is still there.

The shields behaviour is mostly due to what it was made of & training. Steve would have held back lots of times, you see Bucky can throw hard enough to stick in a tree. Sam can’t do that. Fake Caps Shield will be weaker & heavier, so thrown by a super soldier will pack a hefty blow, more than Sam can do, but Sam’s is Vibranium so will fly better & much harder to damage.

"He has a good head on his shoulders, and he is struggling." Except any sympathy I might have had for John disappears here, since the only reason he didn't hurt Bucky or Sam or both of them a lot worse is that Sam broke his arm. He was so out of control that he ripped the Falcon wings off of Sam's back, and he wasn't going to stop. Sam trying to wipe the blood off of the shield is because John started out unstable, and the serum made him worse.
@edren913712 сағат бұрын
I mean, John's friend had just been killed a few Moments before that scene and he took a serum that supposedly amplifies everything you have inside. He is a soldier with PTSD, a really serious problem that many soldiers go through, and if you add the heavy emotional impact of watching your friend and partner get murdered in front you... Well, i think his behavior is actually a quite natural response to the situation. Sam and Bucky have treated John horribly since the beginning just because they didn't like him due to his position as a Captain America they didn't think was worthy of the title, John on the other hand tried to befriend them multiple times. John's outright violent reaction towards Sam and Bucky was, being fair, kind of their own fault; instead of trying to help him in such a painful situation like the one he was in, it was obvious that they didn't care about him and their only concern was Steve's shield and the fact that they now had an excuse to take it away form John, their attitude was quickly caught on by John and that's what set him off. The kind of treatment Sam and Bucky gave John is most likely something Steve wouldn't agree with, and actually... it's something their own characters wouldn't normally agree with. Honestly, i think the writers are at fault for partially butchering the values that made Sam worthy of Captain America's title in Steve's eyes. A True Hero's main concern should be helping people, not getting a shield... Steve would have understood that.

Trained soldiers who were withholding food and medicine from people who needed it just because they were poor and displaced by the blip. Imagine you just close your eyes and when you open them a whole new family is living in your home, all your belongings are gone, legally according to the government you are dead, what do you do? What can you do? They shuffle you off into a camp, mistreat you, let your friends, family, men, women, and children starve and die from preventable diseases, don't even give you a decent place to lay your head. I am not saying Karlie is innocent. There are a thousand other ways to handle it, but her actions don't make John Walker justified. They don't excuse him.

You actually have it backwards: Karli and her people were the ones left behind by the Blip. In order to keep the world running, they were allowed to cross borders they never had, to live where they had been shunned before. Then the Blip was reversed, and all of the Returned were restored to where they had lived before. It was those who had Stayed who were shunted into camps, denied food, medicine, the things they needed. They kept the world together, and their thanks was to be treated as completely unimportant relative to the Vanished. Their methods were less than ideal, but their motives were completely understandable.

The thought that power corrupts is intrinsically Christian in nature, and completely strange to ancient non-Christian cultures. Many of them, chiefly Norse culture, believed that people are who they are, and power just exacerbate it. If you stop to think, it isn't that different than the super serum itself.

4:37--"Why are you making me do this?!?" The perpetual refrain of the Abuser...I had a visceral reaction to hearing him say that, but then I have had such a thing said to me a great many times.

I'm glad youre enjoying it because watching it when it was new was frustrating. Lots of little things bugged me and this period of the MCU was just the start of strange character development and stranger stories. Both often falling flat. Long stretches between seeing characters we love while being force-fed a ton of new characters they hoped we would all love and again, they just fell flat. If you told me it would be 6 years after endgame and 4 years after this series ran before we would get a new captain america movie I'd have said you were crazy.

Yes, you're supposed to water your plants in the evenings or early morning. (...or at night if you prefer). During the day is not the best time to water plants because the water evaporates before the plants can absorb most of it, even on cloudy days thanks to Infrared heating from the Sun. It's also not optimal for plants to get watered while they're undergoing photosynthesis (making food) using sunlight due to a more complicated biochemical reason and explanation. That's why most automated sprinkler systems are set to go off in the mornings or evenings (or both).

the thing I find unbelievable is how the U>S> government deploy John. For Steve he was only deployed with, at minimum, a hand picked strike team and often an entire Division in constant communication and al the initial foot work being done by other agents which both protected Steve and made sure that he was ready to deploy when they really needed him. For John they give him one friend and absolutely no backup, out into foreign countries with no communication and no immediate backup plus he is used to do the basic leg work of walking around and collecting basic information. walker was set up to fail, the very way he was deployed seems more like a set up to make an excuse to go in with massive military support. Basically hoping he gets killed so they can justify a massive retaliation.

Funnily enough, when you put it that way, it just makes it even easier for me to believe; the U.S. government setting someone up to fail seems very on brand, especially if the one sent is killed and lets them justify retaliation...

I have a lot of sympathy for walker. he's been a soldier, having to follow orders, in the murkey world of whats right, what you are ordered to do, and what you have to do on the ground. Rogers never had that, he went in with the supersoldier serum and got to pick his own missions, he never had to accept dirty reality or compromise. Walker is a much more believable and real character than rogers ever was.

I believe the shield bouncing like that is because Tony modified the shield more than once, making it easier for anyone beside cap to use it. I think this is said in Spiderman homecoming. He also made some tools for Nat, Thor and Clint. Remember, the shield is made out of vibranium, it absorbs all force of impacts and its the lighter metal on earth. So the shield bouncing like that is 100% because of the shield and not because of the user. I mean, in the first throw Bucky made the shield to stick to the tree, and later Sam couldn't make it bounce. So it looks like if one wants the shield to bounce back, the user needs to calculate the distance, the angle and the force to put in the throw. Even John could make it bounce, so... yeah. Also, the serum amplifies everything a person is. and John is a condecorated veteran that regrets alot of the things he did. I think it is hinted in the last episode that he and lamar had to sacrifice a team of their own to survive an ambush. and that deed earn them a medal of honor(? so most likely John with the serum is like some sort of anti hero with ptsd that does one good thing but does 2 bad things.

Steve not only threw the shield with strength, but his brain was also calculating angles and velocity much faster than the regular brain can. So you're 💯% right, it doesn't make sense for Sam to be able to throw the shield the same way. But 👎🏻 for not bleeping the blasphemy. 😢

I do appreciate that Sam uses acrobatics in a way Steve couldn't though. Dex build vs. Strength.
@BryanFritchie18 сағат бұрын
@GoodOldGamer Steve could do any physical thing that Sam could do. We've seen him do all sorts of flips and stuff. He just typically didn't need to do it, because he had super strength and speed.

Val is not a "villain" per say. She is/will be the Nick Fury for the Thunderbolts. You are about to become a art of a larger universe. Because of the Sokovia Accords, there is now a need for Avengers that do things "off-books". There are the Avengers and then there are Avengers who do things in secret/sketchy. If the Avengers are like the FBI, the Thunderbolts are like the NSA. Also coming, the Young Avengers (teen/early 20's super heroes). There are also the West Coast Avengers, New Avengers, Secret Avengers. They are exploring all of the Avenger variations right now and developing those story lines for future phases. No spoilers, just sit back and don't miss a series/set of episodes.
