Was the worst year by far this year. No longer 8 halls filled with cars. It’s now 3 half empty and fenced off halls with a sprinkling of cars and that’s it. People blame the NEC for pricing when it’s autosport that make the ticket prices, That’s why LAMMA the week after is totally free. Sad to see the greed of Autosport has cost it its name and reputation. Big shout out to Cannonrun, Ciro, yourself and the rest of the pertolheadonism gang for making a bad event better and putting on your own show for us.

It is NEC that sets the pricing. Then when Autosport struggle to fill the plots due to the NEC pricing the only thing they can do is recoup through the tickets. Hence a smaller show that's more expensive.

Cost plays a big role. I'm happy to pay to go to car shows but it has to be sensible. I can go to lots of local classic car shows etc for 10 quid or less. They may not have the same calibre of cars but its still fun. If I wanted to go to an NEC show, I have to factor in a 4 hour drive and the related costs of fuel and wear and tear etc, plus expensive tickets and then the cost of 2 local shows just to park.

I used to go to the Autosport show years ago until i found Goodwood FOS, now nothing comes close. Been going to Goodwood every year since 2005.

10-15 years ago Autosport was a huge show, F1 drivers, BTCC drivers on stage, would take all day to get around and you'd still miss things. It's all a bit of a joke now, and absolute rip off.

We used to go every year back then, I stopped because it was essentially exactly the same thing every time. Seeing how poor it looks now makes me sad as it used to be a good day out. Where are all the girls in Lycra draped over the cars?

I remember going in 2008 or 2009 and it was rammed. It was also full of trade stands and motorsport teams with their cars but hardly any with personal vehicles, such a contrast now and not a good one now.

I used to like Autosport in the same timeframe as you mentioned, but started getting just cripplingly expensive for a ticket, then the double whammy of being charged the earth to park, not leaving much disposable cash to actually buy any products there. The more they whacked the prices up, the more people were put off, especially as it's held just after the most expensive months of the year. the traders marketing people got smart and realised it's not a show that is worth doing, shame, but it's what happens when you offer less for more year on year

Sadly the costs of shows are getting out of control, plus the car show scene is a bit well touchy what car you have depends how much money and expensive mods. plus with the government lift up taxes and ulez this affects the scene as well

I went to the NEC in the 90/00's a few times for motor shows; in fact I think I may have even been to the Autosport show at least once in that era. And you could barely move for people and exhibits at both events. It's not the price, these things have always been expensive. People just can't be arsed nowadays; to exhibit or visit.

Lots of shows & high prices for said shows alongside the price to get to/from, then accommodation if needs be. There could be several shows every weekend but you’d probably only go to 1-2 shows a month at most maybe.

A few things put me and my friends off going to car shows. There are too many of them, they're too expensive, and there are too many cliquey clubs that pretend to be welcoming. Also, the expanding amount of shows inevitably results in fewer (and lower quality) cars attending them. This leads to fewer people attending them in the future, which leads to companies not bothering to show up to promote their products.

These days u can sit at home let Adam go to the show do a great narration and show the highlights in hd on my massive tv so I don’t have to go and get fleeced for parking and all the extra etc… but I get it that without the footfall they will die out completely

I think the expense is prohibitive for most people, if you factor in fuel to get there, food, drinks, as you said car parking? mega expensive for not a lot there. Autosport used to be absolutely awesome, ticket prices are now too expensive.

I've been to Autosport about 8 times since 2011 and I have got to say that the very worst year was 2022, its first one back after Covid. Last year it got a tad better, they seemed to have improved the show a bit... and then seeing this year, I didnt bother going because I felt it was going to be a waste.. and it was! It was huge back in 2012 era.. now it's nothing. £60 to get tickets and park.. another £50 in fuel.. It was nice meeting you last year but that was one of the few highlights.

Went on the Sunday after not going for a few years. Left disappointed to be honest. Yes the F1 cars were an epic line up. Had a great conversation with a Aygo racing team and enjoyed the arena (from what I saw of it behind a pillar) Can see next year being the last one. It's got a really bad rep now and they'll have poor ticket sales so 2027 won't happen unless they change things

It’s the fact nec charge 20k for a tiny stand then electricity on top and then you have to pay for someone to plug it in! Go to the caravan show the week after entrance is half the as show parking is half the price! It’s just them being greedy knowing motorsport is expensive! Dnt really understand why they have road cars on show when it’s meant to be motorsport

It used to be about motorsport and have lots of exhibits and teasers, now it’s turned into a car scene show (no offence Adam) but a sign of cultural change that they have more utubers then sport stars for a show called auto sport where is the sport. I went a year ago and there were more shoe shiners then anything else. I think Covid years really killed of the big traders, remember when demon tweeks used to have a massive area in the middle trading. Also the show hasn’t changed its the same every year. I think they need to have a full re think on the show and what’s the purpose or might as well wind it down. Much prefer race retro for year starting event

NEC car shows have gone downhill the last decade. They're getting too expensive, it's the same thing every year, and it's pretty dull walking around the exhibition centre. The Silverstone(Iconic Auctioneers) are the only high point of the shows there for me.

I remember going to Autosport in 2018/2019, you had halls full of cars and big brands setting up stools everywhere. Aswell as plenty of fanous faces in the car/motorsport scene. A shame to see what was once a major indoor car show turn to rubbish.

Me and my friend have been coming from the north east the last few years, i enjoy coming as it starts the year off for me, but has seemed a bit quiet and not as good even from 3 or 4 years back, the live show is always great and i love seeing all the grass roots cars racing around but even that show hasn't changed much, it's a shame because i do still want to go and feel it has potential, it does get expensive.
