Great video! However I think you should have used the House of Dusk symbol to 'represent' the Fallen as although they have no unified House to begin with, so it would be difficult to find a symbol to represent them all, House of Dusk is the largest and most wide-spread house. Using the House of Salvation symbol is like using the ISIS Flag to represent all Muslims...not a good look. Currently, there are also 2 Houses allied with us, House of Light (no military forces, almost entirely comprised of refugees) and House of Spider, a Pirate gang with actual highly-specialized military forces, and a shady but desperate leader.

Fun fact: Eliksni captains are what they are supposed to look like fully grown, basically adult eliksni. Eliksni that are smaller than captains are underdeveloped due to a lack of ether. The really big archons and kells have been overfed ether, much more than what they realistically need to grow, leading to their large size. Seeing that ether is scarce, the archons and kells abuse their power by giving themselves the largest portions of ether in order to keep themselves physically stronger than everyone beneath them. They do this to maintain power in their own house and make it almost impossible for the lower ranks within to overthrow them.

It is only a matter of time until the Traveller decides we aren't worth saving either.
@equestrianmidnight56192 жыл бұрын
@@Mediados Your comment is based on slippery slope fallacies and faulty assumptions. In order: No, the Eliksni were never Guardians, there's no lore stating they were. They just had their civilization uplifted, their own version of a "Golden Age". Humanity were the first to be given the Light as per the argument to prove to the Darkness that when given power, we would choose to "build a gentle kingdom ringed in spears and not fall to temptation and not surrender to division", to quote the Traveler from the book of Unveiling. The race of Fundament were the Krill, which later became the Hive because the Witness lied to them and said that a "God-Wave" was coming. The Traveler wanted to uplift them, but because the Witness convinced the Krill to seek out the Deep via the lie, they were corrupted by Darkness first. You learn this in the Witch Queen campaign, Ikora sees it how it happened in a vision. The Traveler did not pitch us in a fight against Savathun. She showed up on Mars with her ship and we left to investigate. Savathun was revived as part of a plan for her to abandon the Dark as she did not like the deal of having a parasite that must be fed or else it devours you. The Hive were going to be uplifted from the very start, but it couldn't thanks to the parasite. You can't exactly bring a Golden Age to a race that thinks murder is justified. That's against the Traveler's philosophy. It’s also worth noting that when the Traveler left the Throne World, it could’ve decided to bounce. But it didn’t. It went right back to our city. EDIT: I mistakenly thought the Krill were supposed to be Lightbearers, they weren't, they were just supposed to be uplifted and have their own Golden Age. Edited for clarification. The rest of my post is accurate, though. I know a lot of people want to believe the narrative that the Traveler is some self-serving, evil space orb that thinks this is just a game and/or it is unfeeling and purely a machine caught in a battle with another. It's easy to judge something that won't defend itself and take its silence as admission. But the truth, a truth that is supported by the lore, is that the Traveler is a very benevolent entity that encourages all life to thrive and cooperate with each other. The Witness is the complete antithesis. EDIT 2: 5 days and no response. Damn shame. :(

The Eliknsi in modern history can still clearly divided into distinct views on humanity. Pro-human sentiments are found largely in House Light, founded my Misraaks. That doesn't mean humans are beloved by the Light-aligned Eliknsi, but they can at least tolerate them enough to reside in the Last City and defend it together. Ambivalent attitudes are going to be found in House Dusk and related freelancers. House Dusk is a catch-all informal House made by the remnants of Wolves, Devils, and Kings after the SIVA crisis. There isn't a Kell of Dusk, rather a collection of Barons that maintain a tenuous peace with each other while establishing smaller fiefdoms and territories across the system. Besides House Dusk, Spider's Syndicate is on friendly terms with more renegade Humans and Guardians but they are a crime syndicate first and foremost. Convenient allies at best when sharing enemies. Anti-human Eliknsi will be in House Salvation or reborn as deformed Scorn. House Salvation is a recently formed House on Europa, claiming Darkness powers from the Europan Pyramid and militarizing against the Last City and the Traveler. Though largely broken after Eramis' defeat, her recent escape from Stasis prison has regalvanized them. The Scorn are Eliknsi brought from death by Dark Ether and the undead Fikrul, the Fanatic. Mindless without direction, they are lead by commanders allied with the Witness, the voice in the Darkness, such as the recently deposed Disciple Rhulk and possibly the Cabal Emperor Calus as he becomes a Disciple himself.
@jakespacepiratee37402 жыл бұрын
The Scorn are still lead by Fikrul though. The Scorn arent exactly like the Hive. The Hive are basically a magical cult, but they still have free-will and individuality. The Scorn have none of that. Nothing happens without the Necromancer Fikrul puppeting their actions. Massive Scorn named "The Fanatics Chosen" have also been seen in the canonically-repeating mission "Preservation" so the choices to ally with Xivu Arath, Calus, and ultimately the Witness were most-likely under Fikrul's choices.
@UnseenBubby2 жыл бұрын
@@jakespacepiratee3740 Yes but only especially powerful Darkness entities could even allow the Scorn into Savathun's Throne World, leaving entities like The Witness and Rhulk as prime candidates. And only because they allowed the first Scorn in could they establish a beachhead and open portals to get more Scorn through. The Fanatic is undoubtedly still around, but his importance to Black Fleet operations and the War of Light and Dark has taken a backseat. He is merely responsible for the creation of more Scorn but is not the principle commander anymore.

@@UnseenBubby How has the Fanatic's involvement taken a backseat when The Fanatic's Chosen were in Rhulk's Pyramid Ship commanding Scorn? People over-obsess with Fynch's lines about the Fanatic but he never said Fikrul got usurped, just that Rhulk's power let the Scorn in. Even if the Fanatic isnt in the Throne World, he knows whats going on and has no established reason to dislike the forces of Darkness when he literally has Darkness in his ether.
@UnseenBubby2 жыл бұрын
@@jakespacepiratee3740 I didn't say the Fanatic isn't important, and his own personal chosen forces are indeed active in the Throne World and therefore pieces to be removed from the board. But using a chess metaphor, the Fanatic is a Rook or Knight, while the Witness is the King. Definitely a powerful piece that should be removed when an opportunity presents itself or as required for our own more immediate defenses, but he is not the principal commander of the Darkness aligned forces we are fighting. If the goal is to defeat the Witness, or at least prevent a Second Collapse, then an ultimately temporary defeat of Fikrul is not a high priority, not when there are far more powerful and active pieces on the board. People like Calus are much more significant threats, taking the forms of the Queen and Bishops that are challenging us more directly. Besides, Fikrul is functionally immortal, and no matter how many times he is killed the amount of Scorn popping up has not apparently slowed. So why waste energy fighting Fikrul when the Scorn will seemingly keep coming. We will have better progress challenging other powerful pieces while figuring out how to permanently kill Fikrul moves to the back burner.
@jakespacepiratee37402 жыл бұрын
@@UnseenBubby Holy fuck this is too long. Im not reading all of this. The only point I wanted to make is that the Scorn are mindless creatures so any choice 'they' made like allying with Xivu Arath or allying with Rhulk was the Fanatic's choice. Any claim you have seen of 'The Witness is in contest with the Fanatic' was just Byf conspiratizing with no evidence, and if you are gonna just say things with no direct or indirect evidence, here is one, Fikrul could easily become a Disciple considering the interest the Witness is taking in the Scorn.

When I think about the eliksni, a RvB quote comes to mind: "It is an undeniable, and may I say fundamental quality of man, that when faced with extinction, every alternative is preferable."

Great video but keep in mind that The Fallen will continue to claw at the walls of our City, unless we strike them down. Beneath the ruins of the Cosmodrome, in the shadow of an old colony ship, we've located the House of Devils' Lair and the High Servitor feeding them their strength. We must destroy this machine god, and send their souls screaming back to hell.

Man, I forget how good Destiny could be. It has one of the best sci-fi worlds I've seen, both visually and written. This makes me more disappointed that the game itself is only meh, but also the fact we're going to lose this game one day with no way to recover any bit of it. Unless someone stupidly crazy smart is already trying to reverse engineer sever code to archive it. Pretty sure we already lost Destiny 1's assets.
@zdude01272 жыл бұрын
Nope. Destiny 1 is not only still up and running, but 2 raids from D1 have actually made their way to D2.
@PantherCat642 жыл бұрын
@@zdude0127 Wait really? I would have expected them to shut down the severs by now, okay cool, now I just need to pray and hope someone can archive the assets in time before it ACTUALLY shuts down forever.
@soul1d2 жыл бұрын
I got tired of a game that tries to monopolize your time. But the setting was rather fun
@CringeMe1ster2 жыл бұрын
@@PantherCat64 look man Destiny 1 and 2 are going to be around for quite a while. But if you're that concerned with them being shut off just go and play them. D1 is super cheap, and D2 is free to try on all major platforms except Switch. The developers say they plan on supporting the series for a very long time and have no plans on shutting them down anytime soon.
@PantherCat642 жыл бұрын
@@CringeMe1ster But they also require online servers to work. Meaning that they'll EVENTUALLY die with no way to ever play them again unless either Bungie has a end of life plan or we archive it now while they're in a playable state. If Bungie goes out of business tomorrow for whatever reason, they're both gone forever. The game's environment and worlds are fantastic and you never know what or who will be inspired next by it. Someone that could make a fantastic piece of work that could change history as we know it but needs this small spark of imagination might even be born yet. I'm not concerned about me not playing it again, I'm worried about no one will ever play it again in the future long after I'm dead.

I don't think it's accurate to say that the Fallen's collective history is completely lost - there are many Fallen still alive that were born on Riis before the whirlwind. Eramis and Variks are the most notable, and living through the whirlwind is a major part of Eramis' motivations.

Great video, although its a bit outdated in terms of the current lore- not sure if this was done on purpose to avoid spoilers. You didn't talk at all about Mithrax and the House of Light, now allied with humanity and living alongside us, which represent the best chance the Eliksni have for a hopeful future, or Eido his daughter, who is prophesized to help restore the old ways of honor- although I realize this video wasn't about specific characters.
