Ralph was 100% spot on and everyone who was hating on this video, because "it's a BETA and they'll fix it by launch", is now proven to be a schill, a knob, a foolish optimist and above all, completely destroyed and owes an apology to this video. I don't think that ppl wanted MP in the sense of a Battle Royale (like everyone seems to be aiming for), but co-op. I would even like something like SWTOR, or something like that, or a PVE with co-op and instances or areas with PVP. I personally always fly solo... mainly because none of the people that I know (friends, coworkers, etc) play games anymore. I have become the lost wolf of an extinct pack. I really loved playing Modern Warfare 2 with my friends back in the day (no MTX, no paywalls, no nothing.. just playing and earning your shit), and when tired of interacting with people I would immerse in Oblivion, Fallout 3, Witcher, Dragon Age or even Mass Effect SP worlds... or visit MMOs like Lineage 2 (when it was good...a grindfest but good) or even SWTOR... nowadays... I am even feeling bored with actual games and their BS business models that they have started to adopt to squeeze more money out of you... I find myself going back to my old games.. I stopped buying games since the end of 2016.

There's a reason why it requires a i7, that 24 player count takes a massive hit on your CPU to compute netcode. Get a AMD CPU and you avoid the increasingly CPU intensive multiplayer games.

I don't even know what to expect from companies any more because people support trash games all the time. This game shares the genera with what Arc, Rust, and H1Z1 but all those games look bad or have major problems. SCUM looks better than everything and runs moderately well but it does not have any content so I guess moral of the story is I am gonna keep my pre-order till I play every beta before deciding. I will most likely keep the game because out of the other main 4 in the genera I have hope Bethesda will eventually turn out a great final product and when that time comes I will have a max level character and extensive knowledge of the systems to greet the influx of noobs with.

I don't know where people get this idea. They've done massive work to the engine to get it to work in a multiplayer environment. That took a massive rework. They upgrade the engine every time. They own that engine and won't just replace it with someone else's engine. They'd have to pay royalties and it doesn't make sense. This is how all these engines work though, they don't get replaced wholesale very often, it's typically just building on what you already have.

None of that is going to be fixed in 15 days. This game is fucked. Also modders already started making mods for the games, but get this. They have to add the mods through unofficial modified game files and the game still lets them online meaning this is a hacker fests paradise.... Also you can alter things using cheast engine since it's not going to ban you or boot you off the game for changing things.... This is a fucking nightmare. Bethesda needed to keep it single player.

The game releases in 15 days and people think there will be ANY changes based on beta feedback? Considering it takes at least a week to address user feedback and bugs...and another 2-3 weeks to send to the console manufacturers for TRC/TCR compliance certification, you’re looking at a very minimum of 21 days to get changes into a build for release on a console. Considering most release candidates submitted for TRC/TCR compliance testing are rejected upon first submission, there is literally ZERO chance there will be ANY changes based on beta feedback making it into the day one update. This game was so poorly designed that its flawed concept should have never left the meeting room. No wonder Fallout is all about nukes because this one is going to seriously bomb.

I can attest to this, I'm playing Warframe and PC gets the update first, before all the files/work is checked and approved for consoles which gets updated 1 month later. I have some minimal knowledge in game dev. and I can say that it takes way longer than 15 days to adress all the feedbacks and fixing the bugs.

One of the hardest parts for me is how the consumers on the subreddits and comment sections are saying "this is just a beta". Citing that the only problem with the game is the launcher that deletes files. This game in the context of a multi million dollar development giant is an embarrassment. There is no love, no time, no effort that shines through. This is a lazy product that I don't think people should be putting 60$ into. It's unacceptable and I hope this game tanks.

It’s a shame. Absolutely loved fallout 3 and the word, but it really does feel to me that the series just hasn’t evolved anywhere near enough as it should have. I mean just look at what rockstar have done over the years with their open worlds. Fallout 4 just didn’t have that some atmosphere for me as fallout 3, and felt like a very minor update, never even finished the main storyline. I have no intention to support 76. Come on Bethesda.

Agree, I played hundreds of hours on FO3 and NV and back when FO4 came out it never managed to pull me into its story as much as the older titles did. Never finished the main story line either, let alone explore the whole world. I doubt we will see huge improvements for the next game in the series. My hopes for bethesda doing anything better in the next fallout game are pretty much gone by now

The other engines they use are great. I mean Doom made by ID had the best visuals/performance ever. All the Arkane studios games were fine too. I loved Prey. I think they should give Fallout to Arkane. Those guys are amazing at storytelling.

​@The Archangel that might be true but I have played extensive hours of 3, nv, 4 and just playing this game it looks and perform the exact same way as all those other games did, with all the same issues as before. basic issues such as frames being linked to your characters movement. ui and fov being the same, massive fps drops during combat (understandable but it's on extreme levels which is the problem), these are basic problems that haven't been fixed in 10 years. even with mods the games still performed like shit (performance mods). they should have changed engines along time ago and it's shocking that they still haven't changed it. yeh but cods engine was actually good when it was first introduced whereas fallouts engine has always been shit. but then again fallout is an open world and cod is a smaller map size so its easier for cod to build on it. but even cod players will tell you that they should have upgraded the engine 5 years ago. I infact was a cod player for a long time and I can tell you that i quit playing cod in mw3 and they were complaining about the engine back then. back when fallout 3 was the main fallout game, the engine was just about passable as being an acceptable playable experience. people back then were just impressed that the game could run in such a large map. that was 10 years ago. fallout 76 plays with the same performance problems as a game that came out 10 yrs ago. but 10 years ago the gtx 480 wasn't even released yet. just to put that into perspective these are the benchmark numbers of rtx2080ti gtx1080ti and gtx 480 rtx 2080ti = 17,500 gtx 1080ti = 14,000 gtx 480 = 4,400 in other words the performance of gpu's in the last 10 years have tripled to quadrupled in performance since fallout 3 was release. yet the performance is just as shit. I get that they are adding more things to the games to make them require more power but at the same time why can other open world game have little to no performance issues while fallout is always trash tier in performance. they don't listen to customers at all, and it's not going to change unless we don't buy the game.

I have hardware that can play every game as smooth frame rates however fallout is the only exception to that rule. fallout runs like complete shit and there are basic issues that have been on fallout games for years. e.g. locked frame rate to 60, why? bethesda is why. next no fov slider, why? bethesda is why. frame rate being attached to your characters movement, why? bethesda is why. ui and fov being linked, why? bethesda is why. poorly optimised textures in every fallout game, why? bethesda is why. these are all things that can be easily fixed (because modders have fixed them), but it's bethesda ignoring feedback and not changing things that has got them in this mess. and thinking this performance is acceptable in 2018 when they've had 10 years to fix it is insane. if they think they can release this game without mod-ability and without an actual npc's in the game they are dreaming. because unlike other fallout games this one will actually be considered a bad game because they don't realise how easy they have had it for the longest time. due to modders improving their games

I’m not worried about any of their games to be honest. Bethesda doesn’t make quality games, they make betas and leave it up to the modding community to fix them. After seeing how garbage the base Skyrim was, I purchased it second hand for like $19 and spent over $250 in donations to the community that actually made Skyrim worth playing. The only good “Bethesda” game was New Vegas and it wasn’t even made by Bethesda.

@@toolshedvideo Thing is, I have played Bethesda games since Morrowind came out (which was still a bit late into the series), and I really like their games. I just try not to be blind. I do hope they can fix up fallout 76, but as it is currently, I have no plans to get it. I will likely come back in a year, and see where it is then. Drives me crazy when fans just 'have' to love everything because they follow a company, and cannot accept criticism. In a similar vein, I have played Diablo games since the 90's, and also have no plans to get their new cell phone game, lol. Just because I love the Diablo series, doesn't mean I have to like everything with Diablo in the name.

Plenty of people like the game, myself included. Its their opinion and I doubt most of them are blindly following the series because they are loyal to the developer- thats a delusion. I enjoy playing Fallout because of the world and it's lore, it's one of my favorite gaming universes. I would have welcomed a slight upgrade to the graphics, but it by no means looks bad, especially on the One X paired to 4K display. Play the game yourself, there are plenty of new features and nice touches that make the game feel fresh- you may enjoy it.

Fallout 1-NV are games with moral dilemma, fun quests, interesting range of NPCs you could talk to and learn their stories, each individually written. Now, Fallout seems more like a cash-grab, because the story in Fallout 4 sucked, and will 76 even have a story? or NPCs for that matter.

CALL of DUTY: We are an FPS, we are abandoning a story in our game. Fallout 76: Well we're an RPG, and we are doing the same! Everything I am seeing and reading about Fallout 76 screams that Bethesda is phoning it in with as low an effort as possible, maybe just to see how little they can actually get away with. I have less than zero interest or hype for this game at this point. Its a shame that developers who arrive at the top of the mountain then become lazy and stop trying to impress. Ok so since no one here mentioned this I will add... This is built on the same engine that Fallout 4 was... That engine is old and on its last legs, the reason there are no npc's is because by removing them and major events like they had in prior games they can then turn around and pump up the draw distance and increase texture fidelity ect... This game is just a replica of Fallout 4 assets because it uses them... the biggest thing they did here was make it in West Virginia and multiplayer... so they get to create new assets according to that... I am happy they made a multiplayer game but I don think they realized all people really wanted was a co-op version of the game so friends could drop in and do stuff in Fallout 4, Skyrim, ect... instead they went ahead and created a game that is more like "State of Decay 1/2" and games like it (this is because ugrids is what is used to trigger quest events: If you want an example go pump up your ugrids in fallout 4 and go walking around most events will be over before you even get to them)

Because Bethesda didn't work on any PVE content except for killing Ghouls and renamed-ghouls (scorched) . There is no story or not much of a quest there. If they have enough decent story content or PVE content that actually matters - then they would have done it. But they got lazy and said - just shoot people or shoot zombies. They know that PVE servers will make it look like a boring game (which it is). They want to "encourage" PVP because they have to keep updating with PVE content otherwise.

Anything can be fun with friends because doing something with friends adds a whole new dynamic to the experience. I hated sports growing up, but I'd always have fun playing basketball with my group of friends anyway because I was hanging out with my friends. It doesn't mean that I thought that basketball was good, but some people can't seem to separate those two things.

Just like previous bethesda game titles using the gamebyro/creation engine(they are the same), anything above 60 fps will cause the game to have major issues such as spoken dialogue overlapping, lockpicking being super sped up, running, walking at increased speed etc. Thats why there is no option to go above 60hz, the old ass late 90s engine has physics tied to the fps. Dont believe me? Open fallout 4, tune your settings to get the highest fps possible, try to have dialogue with someone or try to lock pick something and tell me what happens. Bethesdas game engine is an outdated piece of shit.

@@CodyLee338 most older game engines were tied to FPS, meaning that the forces and stuff like that acting on objects in the environment, were calculated based on a constant time difference between each frame, assuming its running at 30 or 60fps. When the games run slower or faster than the assumed frame rates, systems that rely on that constant time difference run accordingly, so lockpicking for example, if you're running it at 30fps it feels normal, but at 60fps it feels all twitchy and just off, lower fps it feels laggy and off. Dark souls physics is tied to its frame rate, it wants a constant 30fps. Thats why with DSfix(60fps hack), you fall twice as fast and take twice as much damage, because every second in real life, the game is doing double the amount of calculations it should be doing to find out how fast you need to fall, and results in double the acceleration. its a shitty solution to a silly problem that only exists because of the solution. it was fine back in the day when it was much more cut and dry if your PC could run a game, and if it ran it slower than the assumed FPS, it was fine because everything in the game just ran a bit slower. but now with game devs assigning some things to FPS, it causes asynchronous foolery between systems that aren't on the same time step, like the sensitivity of a lock pick or how fast you fall.

This is a piece of software that's going to be pushed into production and released in two weeks? There's no way in hell that these issues are going to be fixed and production and release ready in two weeks. First off, it's a major UI overhaul, then there's fixing the graphics issues, then there's fixing the settings issues. Each of these will take at least two weeks to investigate, fix, enter into dev test. Then there's QA testing that needs to be done, acceptance, approval, etc. If you're someone who thinks that these are issues that can be fixed in a couple of weeks, you've very clearly never developed a piece of software in your life.

The creation engine is 27 years old as of December this year. They just keep modifying the engine. Legend says it was one of if not the first game engines ever created. Hence forth the name, creation engine. People keep wondering whats going on. Do you realise how many engines get revamped and modified over the years but never truly ditched? Almost every developer on the planet uses the same engine throughout their career for the most part, that's such a fucking non-issue. The one they used before that was just Gamebyro which isn't related to Creation, and last engine Bethesda developed was XnGine which hasn't been used since 1999.

Let me put it like this: - They stress-tested their game on a _control_ group, you had to pre-order to test it, so there's no stress on the servers whatsoever. - Bethesda have never made an MMO survival game before. Elder Srolls Online was made by Zenimax not Bethesda. - They have only 15 _days_ to get it ready for _actual_ stress on release and that's not even mentioning the plethora of _other issues they have to fix. On launch, at _best,_ this game will work for 1/4 of the players, but the reality is it'll be broken for at least a month and by then no one will care. The way they've gone about this game, from a design point, is truly baffling.

They wanted co-op for the main game, couldn't get it to work on launch by their own admission. But they found it more tempting to take what should have been a free update and make it into another pay to pay, over monetized cash cow like ESO. So they rushed out the minimal product they could, but done on an old frankenstein of an engine. Didn't properly worry about fun factor, fixing the bugs and criticism of FO4, just making another Fallout Shelter or ESO. Its not truly game design, its a void of vision and passion.

Its early access at most. At best its pre-release server stress tests by putting massive amount of players through the portal and onto the server. The fact the game engine is not optomised at this late stage of the game is a sorry state for the game to be in. Bethesda can joke their games are buggy. This video serves as a warning, WAIT For Bethesda to actually fix it and stabilise the game... thats 6 months, 12 months at least in its current state.

GeekByDay StudByNight Lets be honest it was a server test, there’s no way they are going to rebuild how VATS work, upgrade the entire engine with new water textures, and change player dynamic to restructure how players interact and then fill the world with actual NPC’s so it doesn’t feel so empty. It’s 2 weeks away and from what I heard and saw I don’t think I wanna take the chance and pay for what looks to be BETA code for $60. That’s just me personally though. I enjoyed Fallout 4 and New Vegas so I’ll stick with that to get my fix for now. I’m also right in the middle of RDR2 so I don’t wanna pay the premium price tag for it when it’ll most likely sit on the shelf for a few weeks while I finish it.

Friendly reminder that this is just another iteration of the same Creation engine used in TESIII: Morrowind (16 years ago!), only with a fuckton of band-aids. The reason that the game is locked to 60Hz is because all of the Elder Scrolls and Fallout games' physics engines are tied to the games' framerates. There are people reporting framerates higher than 60 after fiddling around with the settings, and they actually move faster than other players, giving them an edge in PvP. This game looks like such a buggy, shitshow of a barebones version of Fallout 4 that it's unreal that the release date is in two weeks.

Fallout 4 supports high refresh rate with an .ini tweak and it works perfectly, no physics or speed bugs like in Skyrim. Bethesda doesn't care about PC users so it's not enabled by default.

I don't know why anyone is surprised by this. The engine is a piece of garbage and Bethesda has needed to upgrade to an entirely new engine for well over half a decade. I knew that Fallout 76 was going to be DOA solely due to this reason, because if it was already terrible optimized for a single player experience, it would be completely horrible in an online multiplayer title. I just spoke with my wallet and will do so in the future with both the Fallout and Elder Scrolls Series. They make far too much on these games to still be using this engine. We deserve better, but apparently they don't think so.

However, to access that option of gameplay they've taken the heart and soul of the Fallout game loop and thrown it in a blender. NPCs to barter/learn story and lore details/companions to follow you are all non-existent. These are now supposed to be filled out by your fellow players, which will probably turn into a Rust style griefing system of who has more numbers. I could see this as an experiment we're it $30 or less but to charge $60 for this level of bugginess at the get go feels like highway robbery. Cause I know when I'll sit down to try it out my brother in the future once they've made it bearable, it won't be worth $60.

A big multiplayer game with microtransactions will make you a boatload of cash, like Fortnite and GTA 5. At the time of this beta, it seems like they're just throwing it out there and waiting for the player base to tell them what works or not. Were it $30 bucks or cheaper, I'd be more willing help them sort things out. At full price, however, I expect a full game and experience.
