Hope that we get survivor accounts of each start area as each one gets further and further to finding a way out before one survivor manages to successfully survive and escape as a sort of finale. With a different opening for each survivor story with Project Zomboid like quote that goes like "As the night sky goes dark, one star shines in the sky and that star has a story: be it a tragedy or a victory. This is a story that the dust wind knows."

With the ncr commander mod, you can turn fallout dust into a fallout edition of spec ops the line. The lore would follow: You are a NCR commander leading a band of troops in order to locate and rescue survivors. You would of course learn about the sewers and investigate it. As you explore, you get shot at by ncr forces and you and your team would wonder why they were shooting you. It would only be until you keep exploring the Mojave in which you figure out why they were shooting you and who they really were. You would then change your objective from saving civilians to killing Lydia and bringing an end to the NCR traitors. You would also learn about the courier and would hunt down and kill him. After you finish your mission, you’d look back and realize how much worse things have become because of you. You then decide if you want to leave the Mojave or kill yourself. This would be a permadeath challenge (it doesn’t have to be if you don’t want) Also the insanity system would work really well with this

i think this is the first fallout lore series where i actually learned something despite playing the games/mod. i didn't knew the Royst/Bernard expedition were in reality deserters following lydia to find evidence to clear royst's name, i always thought in reality the expedition were a NCR division that was/is under lydia and probably a NCR Major ranger (likely at camp golf) to retrieve the evidence to clear his name (while the followers with arcade conducted the investigation for royst's crimes) when in reality. they're just a deserter detechment(or regiment given the numbers) following lydia that's actually good and it clears out a 'plot hole' i had since i played the mod in regards of them, this makes me alot happy for more episodes of this series. and considering the fact me and a friend have been planning on making artwork based out of dust. this makes me really happy man. can't wait for more episodes, keep it up laddie

I actually found Lydia Bernard on Black Mountain when I was on my second Dust play-through. I whacked both her and the clowns that accompanied her; it felt cathartic in a way.

Just started my first playthings of Dust today. Been thinking about it for a while, but your video essays and this lore series convinced me after I found them yesterday. Threw in a bit of roleplay elements too, RPing as a long range Minuteman scout as a spin off of my main FO4 playthough because why not. Wish me luck and drop me tips lad and lasses, and thanks for convincing me to start playing.

I knew the expeditionary forces were something of a splinter faction, but I didn't think they were separate from NCR and loyal more to Royce. The Mojave should have been the graves of them long ago, The Survivor being able to have it claim them is such a satisfying thing.
