Here's the thing about that movie. It has more heart in it than the three Fantastic Four movies that got released and it feels a LOT more like the comic book than those released movies do. That's why I actually enjoy the Rodger Corman version with all of it's shlock, bad practical effects, and cheesiness over any of the three released Fantastic Four movies. I recall that the director for this film actually went out and purchased a whole backlog of Fantastic Four comics and sat down and read them, using them as reference material for the movie. The directors for the released films, I understand didn't care less about source material. This movie in my opinion is still the closest thing we have to a Fantastic Four movie that's like the comics originally were.

Alternative Timeline: Roger Corman's The Fantastic Four was released worldwide on December 24th, and to everyone's suprise made 500 times its budget back. Critics praised it for its faithfulness to the source material, and a sequel was immediately greenlit. The Fantastic Four 2: The Mole Man, was released on October 21st, 1997. Now with more money, they hired Warwick Davis as the Mole Man and Tim Blaney as H.E.R.B.I.E. the Robot. The film featured a Mid-Credits scene in which someone known as Uatu the Watcher (Max Von Sydow) shows up at the Baxter Building to warn the Fantastic Four of an "incoming galactic threat", then a Post-Credits scene where a silver figure (Rutger Hauer) flies through outer space on a silver flying surfboard talking to an offscreen presence that the Earth "has much potential", setting up the third movie. The second movie was as beloved, if not more beloved as the first film, grossing 800 million dollars worldwide. The third movie, The Fantastic Four 3: The Silver Surfer, was released on August 8th, 2001, to celebrate 40 years of the team, becoming the first movie to gross 1 billion dollars worldwide. Based upon "The Coming of Galactus" 2-part story-arc, it showed the team going up against Galactus, in a memorable performance by James Earl Jones, who threatens the existence of the planet by consuming its energy, which will kill the Earth soon after. The 'Silver Surfer' as Rutger Hauer's character is dubbed, a herald to Galactus, decides to help the Four after being inspired by Alicia Masters, and is ultimately the one who defeats him, forcing Galactus to retreat, but not before cursing his former herald by trapping him on Earth. Despite the film being more of a success than Constantin Films thought it would be, the cast and crew decided to take a break from making these films, to make room for more superhero movies. At San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, Roger Corman announced an animated TV spin-off series in the works at Marvel, now re-owning the rights, to be released on Disney+, continuing the adventures of the heroes, with all the stars (minus Rutger Hauer and Max Von Sydow) set to reprise their roles. A special teaser for the shows first episode was teased with the announcement, revealing the villain to be the Molecule Man, and is ready to air on January 1st, 2023.

I may be three years late but damn it someone needs to salute you for working a Fantastic Four The Four Tops and Classic IV reference into the first 13 seconds sir.

"And I don't know why that vacuum cleaner is pissed off!" I almost spit my water all over my laptop screen over that.

The thing I love most about this movie? When the shit starts to hit the fan on the space ship, Reed is INSTANTLY able to discern the diamond is a fake. Without testing it, without checking anything, without so much as even LOOKING at the fucking thing. Dude's apparently psychic.

I've watched this movie and it's still more entertaining than last years Fantastic Bore. But I only have one thing to say when Johnny goes full fire mode at the end Lame on!

Looks pretty good for only costing a million dollar.
