I wince every time you move those stoves alone. They're heavy enough as it is but add awkward shape & feet catching on concrete in the mix - you get a sore back and neck. Most impressively is you did it without swearing once. Take care and thanks for sharing.

When I watch people putting a hole in a stove pipe, it reminded me of putting them in at hunting camp. Sometimes 3 to 5 a year for customers. A .22 long rifle makes a perfect hole and saves time. Nice videos to watch.

Me personally I love a double barrel stove!
@NorthernSeclusion2 жыл бұрын
I have used many double barrels in my life and they do work very well. Up at the folks cabin Dad has a double barrel out in the cabin workshop. All that being said, you can not get near the heat .... let me rephrase that.... You can get the heat but to do that you will be burning almost twice as much wood. You can not get near the control or long term heat output out of a double barrel vs the All Nighter stove.

Miss my dad when you do potatoes. Learned a lot from him but I don’t have the property for growing potatoes. Man I wish I could. I remember the root cellar (many names for that) my era was root cellar. We had about 2 acres of garden. Seriously 1 acre of potatoes. I grew up with meat potatoes and vegetables sitting at a table with family every day. I (we my wife of 32 years ) have raised our children the same way.Funny thing is I’m not as old as you think 😁Love your videos

You can't go wrong with the Over Nighter... Your stove looks like a mid Moe, possibly a Big Moe. I have the " Little Moe " Overnighter "... I bought it as a demo in 1980 & still heat an entire house with it to this very day... I keep my stove in the basement with NO insulation in the floors, keep the staircase door open 24/7 & a in floor vent at the other end of the house giving me circulation... 42 years & not a single problem with this stove which were made in Glastonbury, CT for those that might be interested...The top is 5/6" plate steel & the sides & back are 1/4" plate with a cast iron door as mine has the single round air inlet. NO need for a pipe dampener with these stoves sir, they are airtight & dampeners are NOT recommended nor necessary... Bill on the Hill, Vermont, USA... :~)

In March you will find some smaller shriveled up potatoes with spuds starting. Those are what we call volunteers that can be replanted in the Spring. I put in their own holes, in groups of 3s. You still have new seed potatoes in rows. I liked the rows better. I'm glad you changed the wood stove. Now it looks warmer, still cozy. It will always be romantic with Melissa beside you.
