It’s so funny because those trend hoppers who are hopping in this bandwagon are the same people who would bully and look down on the people that first went with this fashion style against the norm.

Fashion is just constantly changing trend.Style is more personal and reflects individual taste and preference. Normal naman yan maging prevalent yung fashion na ganyan kasi trend, this year pwede ma iba na naman. Style is kung ano ba talaga nag rereflect sa individual which is lacking ng mga so called Fashion MFS. Mag eevolve pa naman yan in a long run and may mag eendure sa style nila.
@jjjjjj2323Күн бұрын
Here's my take. Fashion has always been about trends and adopting styles from other countries much more now kasi globalized na tayo through the internet. Fashion is the way it is kasi they want to look what most people, for whatever reason, deem acceptable or even exceptional. That's always gonna be the way that it is, especially they're young, they want to fit in, etc. That is to say, they lack either access to the idea of a self-identity independent of their social groups (they don't even consider na pwede kang maging "iba"), or they think na their little quirks would be ostracized by their peers, which they often are.
@jjjjjj2323Күн бұрын
Also, what's funny is all those trends come first from a person that introduces something different. It catches the attention of the few who thinks it looks cool and also want to be different. Then the thing catches enough fire to become the norm. Then like an overplayed song, we get sick of it.
@jjjjjj2323Күн бұрын
On the point of them not fitting the fashion they choose for themselves, I agree with that. The trends do seem to attract those who don't have the attitude to carry it. Yes you can say it's a classist thing, which it probably is. It is an opinion formed from the fact na for most of our lifetimes over the top, eye-catching styles, is for the rich or upper middleclass only. Now with the advent of fast fashion, Chinese sweatshop clothes available sa mga online shops, anybody can get a hold of it.

Fashion is generally how you express yourself, it may be through your clothing, accessories, or cosmetics. These latest fashion trends na sumisikat sa country natin is quite admirable, ganda naman talaga but when it became a trend, it beats the whole 'Self Expression' idea since, in my own observations, mostly ng mga sumasabay are doing it for clout, or just because trend nga siya. Nothing wrong with that, ironic lang and nagiging BS yung true purpose which is finding your own style, and going against the norm or simply being unique.

i think the problem is that they’re not wearing the fits, the fits are wearing them. it seems like the majority of the ones participating in this trend are just that: participating. i wont knock those that really dig that aesthetic and if thats really their personal style. but to me a lot these guys are just trend hopping and this is just the evolution of hypebeasts from 2016. they’re really one and the same to me honestly. what i hope for these kids though is if this is their gateway into personal style, that they find something that suits them, something thats authentically them, not something that wears them.

True, everyone has the right to wear whatever they want and as they please. The problem is that these young ppl dont really follow the fashion but the trend. It's cringe and weird to see these jejemon in the public. Squammy ppl = squammy behaviour, what they are wearing is a break of the trend. They do not find their style, and they just simply copy it on tiktok. Kasalanan talaga mga tagalogs kasi it reached here in visayas and mindanao. Its a cringe pandemic, and they do not understand fashion. Honestly, I won't mind seeing 1 or 2 ppl wearing it as long as it looks good, and they dont bring a squammy vibe. Whatever these goofballs are wearing, it ruined fashion. They dont even know what they are wearing, especially if its a soccer jersey they dont even know what that team it or even a club. I do streetwear sometimes, and at least i know what I am wearing. I can look like a skaterboi or just slab on a jersey and jeans, and I call it a day as long as the colour, the season, the hairstyle matches.

my take to this is: dapat these fashion mfs get educated even more in terms of the aesthetic and silhouettes plus it's not that pinanghihimasukan ko sila but they should learn behavior and mindset tied into dressing up like that kase yung iba ay guilty for bullying people for sporting these clothing bago pa naging "in". Also, to get educated even more na they try to be more creative and don't just follow the generic formula. Iayon din sa weather, try more combos that still follow the inspo and avoid items that make the look "baduy" and "cheap". edit: taking Frederico Genciana as an example is really good! im from a fashion background ever since i was 14 always have been experimented for a while now and back in 2019 ive always wanted this style in some way. not in the same vein as these kids but i looked to japanese style and especially styles from yohji yamamoto's universe of style. theres a uniform to that style thats very similar to this look, the skirt, button up and tie look and ive been rocking that since 2022 when i first got my first few real pieces from yohji and brands like it. ive loved the look ever since and its bizzarre to see so many kids get into the same realm without the knowleddge or the heart i had, of course my exposure came early and these people probably got on the style these last 2 years yeah yeah i know, but as much as i am anti trend and i hate on trends and pepple who hop on trends without a single thought, i think the whole new scene is yeah unoriginal but fashion is by definition supposed to take from past or current style trends and to follow it so yeah these kids are into "fashion" per se but their style has yet to reflect their own sense of self. but my start as someone who feels like their style developed for the better, the initial step is to get into trends, for my time it was sneakers, skinny jeans, bucket hats and i got into that, i found my idols at the time and i wanted to dress like them, just like all these other kids my age or younger now looking at questionable muses but muses nonetheless. i just wanna preface i dont like this style or people in this community that remain closed minded and all the pressure into getting into this look because i feel like this whole thing is peer driven for sure, but i remain hopeful always for the individual few who were like me and come out of this whole trend becoming more knowldgeable a about the art and the medium of fashion because ive loved fashion outside of the commodification of the medium and to me transcending to high art , my career and also literally keeping me confident and happy. so im hoping on the individual scale these kids at least a handful of them find that sort of love i have for the medium of fashion and the art of clothing oneself. THE ONLY THING I GOTTA NITPICK ABOUT THEM is how rampant they are but thats with every trend and also how annoying some or them can be on social media, also hijacking certain hashtags on apps like insta and also taking the standard yohji uniform of tie, white button up, and skirt/big pants combo cause ive worn that kinda look before it became so big and seeing it now is so exhausting for me even as someone who enjoys people who pull it off with intent. ok sorry long comment but i hope i provided insight as someone who is interested deeply into fashion

this is true its like its own weird echo chamber born out of an off shoot of fashion guys that think that theyre innovators in their own right ive always found the sudden spike of kids my age and younger gettint into fashion so odd just cause of how long it took to get to this point and how the philippines especially wasnt really so fashion forward unless youre in the inner city. its great that fashion here now feels so democratized and open to any sort of interpretation now but i think this community and other greater communities of fashion here like also the alt community are in it to one up one another but also stay in that lane of style all the while trying to out do one another. i just think individually these kids and others like them etilists and other alike need to be humbled.

this is actually a part of the late 90s and 2000s nu metal fashion. Nu Metal music like Linkin Park, Korn, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit etc. But sa generation natin kasi, ang weird kasi, yang fashion na yan galing sa Nu Metal pero music wise, apakalayo like cringe sobra. I'm a nu metalhead myself and I know that fashion very well kasi music ee tas baggy pants tas oversized tee, medyo similar sa hiphop tho metal pa rin. Then by 2000s, dahil sa Coal Chamber tsaka Powerman5000, nauso naman ung goth-nu metal which is prevalent naman ngayon sa generation natin without them knowing na nu metal fashion yon. This current fashion scene, naglu-lump between hiphoppers, goths, punks and paniki ni zild and so on.

I’m all for exploring aesthetic but I get the vibes that most of the people who dress like this now would have been the same people who would laugh at others who wore these outfits like 2 years ago 😂

Okay, honestly the fit is good and everything, they look awesome with their fashion sense but what i think people dislike (or just me personally) is they make it their whole personality. Same with what happened with thrifting.

i agree, saw a tiktok they said that "fashion mfs daw pero di alam ung meaning ng mfs". like idk what they want from that

Okay, maybe im overhating BUT i get the idea na express yourself and dont let them tell you what to wear, I love that idea. Its one of the things that I love about this trend or whatev u call it. The polo, necktie, and palda combo goes hard and copying it is okay, BUT: IT. GETS. TO. A. POINT. This is where the hating starts, it gets to a point where its kind of annoying to see, we're not hating on them really, we're hating on the overuse of it.

Despite the problems and backlash it has. Naiinggit din ako sa kanila dahil naspend nila yung youth nila to the fullest just like I did years ago. I wish to go back in time lol

I've seen this trend and I may not be that fully against it, but I just don't like the fact that they all still rocked this fit yet for some reason they still looked like they haven't showered or washed their clothes. Bakit mukha parin silang madungis is what is going on into my mind how can they throw a dope fit into their minds yet still managed to looked like they haven't taken a shower nor wash their clothes.

Filipino fashion trends is often a reflection of Foreign fashion trends seeping our wardrobe palette. You are open to People trying these trends but still feeling weirded out. A lot of us think that way too; The most obvious emotion you and I feel are likely feeling is CRINGE.

Sometimes I feel like it's forced imo, fashion should be inclined to the aura of your body so that it can work wonders, kinda like a haircut, you gotta find the correct one to match your face shape, no one out here trying to look like a pineapple also a small suggestion: the repeated flash to black screens are not so good, either its just me, idk, cause i for sure as hell kept noticing it ahahhaa, overall amazing vid, some of your points hit the mark
@mq_ZephКүн бұрын
Thank u, Black screens intentional and worked its purpose on you so i think ill keep doing it hehehe

well said ;-; these mfs discovered hakama pants and started SPAMMING it on almost everything and almost lost as to why they're wearing it in the first place. i fuck with hakamas REAL HARD then when it caught on trend, parang nawala nagpapaunique sakin ah ASHDBAWHDBAJHB it's my style now it's everyones. nothing wrong with that they just dont know what to do with it.
