Amen to that! 😁 There's so much to learn about all this stuff, it's incredible. Especially with all the different rules and everything else. He could talk about the fuel system for 2 hours, give you a test and still have no idea how they make the power they do 😊🤘

Man I didn’t realize how much of an art and complicated mechanical fuel injection is. Thing is when the old ww2 airplanes got “tuned right” there reliable as hell.
@SteveJacksonRacing Жыл бұрын
It’s complicated, but simple too. When it’s proper , it’s bullet proof

Absolutely love your video's, It give everyone out there an insight to how things work and how much work goes into these cars. I would love to see you do a video on the fuel system of a Nitrous car, That would be awesome. If this Covid thing ever stops and we are allowed to come back to the states, I'd really love to see you guys at a meeting and even see what goes on away from the track. Keep up the Great work, All the best for 2021. Stay safe and take care from Australia P.s Go the Blower cars

I miss the 600 plus C.I. Big Block Dodges, with Hilborn fuel injection, on methanol, with a dial a jet to control that leak from the drivers seat, we used to run. Great job Mr. Jackson in explaining how simple injection is.💪💪💪💪

Thanks much Stevie, the more we EZ chair racers learn the more interesting it gets. I ran a 9:90 dial in SuperG/ProG car (depending on NHRA/IHRA or AHRA event) 'back in tha day' but when that world went electrical I hadda bail,, just too dumb and too poor to keep up so even though I know quite a bit about 'old school' mechanical fuel system and carb, learning these things you're covering makes watching what the guys do in prep for STANDING ON THA GO PEDAL really makes watching tons more fun.

'So yeah, go ahead and pull that pump and BDK (if applicable, lol).. don't worry I'll watch you while I slowly take out the number 2 spark plug that is already out And yeah.. I always end up holding the spark plug wrench like a police baton' - lol ----- I really like the amount of time you put into explaining all these different parts of a race car, because all these drag racing organizations have so many different rules now and I don't think anyone can know too much about a fuel system (or a clutch, converter, computer controls, timers, etc, etc.. I really do not think it's possible, 😂😊🤘

@dmeemd77873 жыл бұрын
Why not? Believe me when I say that they really need good people out there in the fuel classes and so on. Well, they did before 2020... and they will again 😊😉 If you ever do want to, a lot of times it seriously is as simple as: Go to a race, talk to the guys on a Friday Night or after a race on Sunday. Have a resume. The important thing is you're open-minded and don't mind being on the road all the time. If you approach them at the right time (or hell, even if you don't, MULTIPLE teams REALLY were needing decent people, lol) -- catch them at a time when they are not busy, they will notice that and they'll also notice that you put time into a resume and they might just throw you into it right then and there, call you after a few months, you never know. First race car ever worked on was an a/fuel dragster (injected nitro in the top alcohol class) -- I just started talking to them and they asked me if I wanted to learn how to do the clutch, lol 🤤🤣 I have no idea how young or old you are (also doesn't necessarily matter) but I just wanted to throw that out to you or anyone else that ends up reading this. I will say this,, you never think you are going to get a call from a big team...until you get a call from a big team and your brain takes a sh*t on itself, haha) 🤘 Take care!

Good stuff. "When you fire that motor up you gotta quit tuning and start driving" I know that feeling. Much easier to just toss a tune in someone elses and worry about if it is going to work from the line lol.

Finally someone that will give some info on the fuel system. Would it be possible to maybe show how to work out a start up tune if there is a formula as i have a way smaller engine. 6 cylinder that would probably fit in one of your cylinders lol.
@stevehammel2939 Жыл бұрын
I actually understand what you presented about fueling... thanks
@vondet13 жыл бұрын
very informative.
@cpolt11923 жыл бұрын
So question for the teacher..What is the biggest reason for not going EFI on these engines? Is it strictly rules? Or fuel flow? Or something different? Thanks! Donkey Gapp incoming for 2021!🤙🤙

Awesome! You guys have no idea how long I have been looking for something that can easily explain mechanical fuel injection to in a rather simple tone. Most of the time, it is a series of leaks going to and from the engine. Who would’ve thought it would be that simple? #FastLane
