For those not from the UK (or not familiar with it) .. .the beer she gives him is Tennents Super, which is 7.5%. It tastes like rocket fuel and is generally drunk in my experience by Tramps, Alcoholics, and .. (well when I was young) .. Teenagers trying to get pissed. So a nice little accurate touch for a pisshead family :) Next weeks lecture: Carlsberg Special Brew.

Ahh the purple tin, with a strong bouquet of vomit with hints of urine. It brings to mind images of squalor and deprivation, an old mattress leaning against a skip or an upturned shopping trolley half submerged in a quaint old canal. If you want to argue with yourself loudly outside Poundland, while a dog relieves itself against your leg, you won't find a less than perfect beverage than this.
