Its easy, Kabal and Reptile, both had dashes, but the difference was if Kabal hit you with the dash, You get 30% 40% combo plus pressure, with reptile you get k.o

@Agyfasz-Huszár yo I played so much mk9 and umvc3 online that I could not even do a jump in punch offline because of how built in the lag was to my combo timing with cyrax but online I was so consistent with his 90% resets. Those were the times

Reptile was always versatile and fast in every game he was in, not just MK9, but also MKX and the classic games too. Just in MKX alone, he had the fastest Overhead in the whole game (11F) which was also plus 1 on block, his Reptilian Dash was still super fast and you could've combo off of the EX one both at mid-screen and in the corner, and his EX Slide was a 6F special and it was both the fastest Wakeup and Reversal move in the entire game and it took him full screen. That's how it was with Reptile's mobility specials in all of the games: the Slide, the Reptilian Dash, the Super Krawl (MK4) and the Rolling Spikes (MKDA and MKA), and again he was a versatile freestyle character in every game. That's a part of why he is my favorite character not just in Mortal Kombat, but in all fighting games.

Every character was so thought-out and unique in this game. That's something I feel like MK11 has lost in its evolution. MK9 was simple but had a lot of hidden depth. The learning curve was perfect, in my opinion -- but it had a high skill-ceiling. It's crazy looking back on this game now, it really was and still is the peak of Mortal Kombat as a franchise. If they just would've built on this system and not changed so much in MKX and MK11, I would've been so happy. If MK9 had the cosmetic options of MK11, I would lose my mind and never stop playing this game. MK9 is my favorite game of all-time and held some of the funnest moments in my entire life.

thanks for the quality video, mk9 was an amazing example of a game going back to its true roots, it really did captivate the retro feel, that being said, mkX and mk11 are perfect examples of the developers ignoring that, see the old mk's were about stupidity, that was the flavour of mk, people would crowd around arcade machines just to see what crazy stuff would happen next, and it wasnt easy to do either, now i always fall asleep when i watch the mk11 tournies because its pace is slowed down to mimic realism, why? i miss turning into a bunny rabit and murdering someone, sorry for the rant but mk got serious and it just hasnt been the same since, miss that guy that pops up on the corner :/

Great video, I'm a big Reptile fan but the lack of good online in MK9 prevented me to really enjoy him there. I'm a little more experienced with him in MK X, but not that much. I don't really know the frame startups and recoveries and such... What is your opinion on him and his move in MKX ? How good are his dash and EX dash in this game ? Anybody who played MK9 online for their pvp play knows that Reptile was SSS+ tier because the lag prevented you from punishing his damn dash most of the time. Still, I wouldn't trade it for the world.
