where the rubber meets the road is what keeps all cars from performing better. take F1 racing for example... tires or tyres if you prefer is THE thing stopping these Lambos from hitting 280mph. at these speeds the tires simply start degrading exponentially. The Veyron mentioned in the description is a lot faster then it has gone, the makers themselves have stated the tyres are keeping it from its full potential. and dont expect to see tyre compounds anytime soon becoming that much better, theres no money in it for the tyre manufacturers. as if we had the proper compounds we could drive for years and years on n eset of rubber shoes.

It is not that tire manufacturers wouldn't make money selling better compounds, it's that no compounds physically exist that are better than what we have currently. The ragged bleeding edge of science can't replace the compounds in place. We can tweak what we have now to squeeze out better performance with ample tradeoffs, but you're never going to get worldchanging differences. Physics just simply won't allow it.

So as far as stock level and street legal goes, the gtr has nothing but door handles for their resume... 😂 But as far as the 1/4 goes, simply put both cars on the same level. Same spec qualifying. Interior stripping, drag radials, twin chutes, carbon body, nitro tune, short pipe w/ no muffler... ALL of it. And then race them to make the 1/4 mile call. I'd say theyd be damn close next to each other. It'd come down to rear end down force and front end stability. Which the Huracan has the front end, but does it have the rear? So that's my 2¢.

UR sends all motors to Proline Racing to be built do you have any idea and how much just that cost? Motors alone a V10 cost basicaly twice as much to build for the simple fact that it has almost double the amount of parts buying 10 pistons vs buying 6 pistons it all comes down to common sense at that point it has nothing to do with fanboy's it has everything to do with you be clueless.

No one mentions the strong tail wind at 5:40 sec. That's why most speed records the car has to turn around and make the same run in the opposite direction. Then they take the average of the two runs. But I know that's not possible with their setup. But having a strong tail wind will help quite a bit.

Firstname Lastname is allowed, the higher elevation helps a LOT since there is less air/wind resistance. That is more important than the lower air/less power part of the overall equation. They wouldn’t put up the same numbers at lower altitude, or on a strip that was level.

Impressive. A Lamborghini Huracan holds this half mile record and a 2006 Ford GT holds the 1 mile record, 300.4mph. That same GT had a 1/2 mile speed of 240mph. I would suspect gearing plays a major part in both of these car's performances. The aerodynamics on the 2006 Ford GT were dead stock. Insanity, both cars are cool.

Christian Fletcher has a Mustang that does 212 mph @ 3.86 in the 1/8 mile 660ft. They should spray the entire track with the sticky solution they spray on drag strips. They should also launch just like they are drag racing just a little less aggressive. I'm sure with a 7 speed wide ratio auto transmissions & the right gearing they could easily do 275 mph in the half mile, 325 in a mile 375 in 2 mile.

track was absolutely perfect for the run. I can attest that they track is actually all downhill there is 1/2 foot of fall from start to finish.

BullgoesforGold355, drag hinders them quite a bit. High altitude means less air to make power, but also less wind resistance (drag) which is more important than power. This is why the numbers aren’t as impressive as if they were at the Texas Mile (lower altitude, on a level strip and not downhill).
