I love the Pauper content! I heard you say something in another video about how skipping deck techs hurts the algorithm and I had no idea about that. As a daily Pauper player I tend to skip deck techs because I'm very familiar with most decklists but I decided to allow the video to play through sped up if it helps. Just thought I'd mention that you might want to mention what helps the channel more often because I never thought *how* I watched the video would influence anything

I'd get a Rakdos Madness list, remove a couple of lands and a few spells and add 4 Trolls, 2/3 Crushers and 1/2 Oliphaunt + 4 Exhume. The discard engine is already in place and you have a solid B plan with burn spells that can win you games even if you only hit once with the creatures. Probably not a great deck, but I think it's better than the glass cannon you played today. Otherwise you can go Dimir as you said at the end of the video. Striped Riverwinder, Mirrorshell Crab, Trolls and even top up with 2/3 Tolarian Terrors (or Gurmag Anglers, easier to cast but no ward) as creatures. The spells can be Counterspell, Duress, Consider, Lorien, Snap (with Exhume I think bouncing may be better than killing), Spell Pierce or Dispel etc. Also, with a more midrange build you can afford to play 4x Bojuka Bog maindeck to make Exhume one-sided even in the late game.

Marauding brinefang seems a good pick up in dimir reanimator. I know island cycling is worse than swamp cycling in reanimator but ward 3 seems pretty good. There's also dragon's wings to help give evasion

@@TheEPICStorm I was thinking play both. Mirrorshell Crab requires a target which is kinda meh. Brinefang is also lower on the curve allowing for turn 2 cycle turn 3 exhume spell pierce

I prefer the blue black build. Counterspells are a big help. He mentions at the end that you lose the dragon breath but I run them just for the GY effect.

I just watched your cascade exume list from few months ago, and now this. I swear it happens to me every time too, when I try to attack the meta. You just get matched into most awful match ups ever over and over :D. Feels bad man :(!

27:26 Interesting. I am playing a slower version in paper, that plays 4 duress und some Delve creatures mainboard for pretty much that reason. Then again, my local meta game does not have a lot of burn or aggro, so going slower is not punished as much as online.

Turbo builds in pauper aren't what once were. A more midrange build would probably be smartest. Especially to hold up interaction and prolong the likelihood of winnning and/or answering threats. I think Dimir could be good, or even sulati possibly, but that gets murky in pauper.

Honestly, Pauper as a whole is incredibly hostile towards combo. You're forced to go through the graveyard for every combo and it's easy to beat.

And I guess walls combo is pretty unbothered by gravehate. But I think you said you didn't like it too much either even though I don't remember why.

Its funny, terror decks basically just do what reanimator decks want to do....but better. Theyre filling the graveyard, cheating out fatties(with ward) while being able to run counter magic and better card advantage.
