Lol, we’ll look at the rules…. No big blocks or V10/12 etc. props to all these guys especially spending the money and to not be as fast as an auto I guess for a niche class. It’s is amazing how much they improved but they removed weight requirements and I think turbo restrictions, just a tire rule and power plant limitations.

@@shaadydog1 i remember back when the natural aspirated street cars with manuals were wowing folks being in the 9s in the early 2000s. Back when it was side stepping the clutch and praying it stays straight for the 2nd gear jam and carry the wheels some more. I really enjoyed the streetable low 8 and high 7sec turboed vipers banging gears in the early 2000s from heffner though, they looked like a wild ride.

I've always said that I'm a car guy first, a Ford guy second, and an everything else guy third, and I've ALWAYS loved stick shift racing(even before it was cool lol)... gotta be honest, it's always been just a lil bit of a let down that, after the record got pushed beyond 7.50s or so, there hasn't been a competitive Ford(still hoping to see the Minion guys get back up there with the comp) going for the H-pattern record. Then Joel jumps into the race out of nowhere and starts absolutely laying it TF down, makes me happy inside seeing this thing run! BTW, how sick is it that the H-pattern record is being pushed by cars with INTERESTING COMBOS too! Minion with the good ol 4.6 Mod, Grub Worm with an OG OG LT1, Grannis with a 2JZ, Steele with a STOCK GEN 1 BLOCK Coyote(NO ONE is doing this stuff with stock Coyote blocks, just unbelievable) - and of course you can't talk about H-pattern racing without mentioning the original slayer, Red Demon AWD DSM! I don't hate LS engines or billet small/big blocks... but DAMN is it refreshing to see everything BUT those cookie cutter combos! EASILY the most interesting drag racing happening right now!

@@mrroboto4321 cuz the rules were different not very long ago. No turbo limits, Weight has no minimum now, so no penalties for aftermarket block, head etc… LS and Mod/Coyote were severely penalized period, LS7 stuff even more so. Basically just a tire rule. Right now though you just seeing this opened up with what was already around. When/if guys stay nothing says they cant run a real race platform be it sbc/sbf/sbm etc. You still can’t run a Big Block anything though, or a V10/12 so that means no Vipers. That’s lame as that’s one of the cars that only ever had a manual and that engine is basically a sbm with 2 extra cyls…

Anyone with money can get a car capable of that time area buts its having a driver whos capable and knows how to communicate or set the car up to feel comfortable. Too slow of a shift can mean 2/10 of a second without knowing it. Shifting gears and pumping a clutch at that rate is mental gymnastics! Never seen such an engineered rear axle differential! That all is like sending man to the moon on a flat surface 1/4 mile away.

This one looks to be way ahead any potential contestants, it's much closer to a pure racing machine than the previous record holders.

Shifts look effortless , no clutch used , pretty wild transmissions available these days . Seems like a manually shifted Lenco should be allowed in that class too .

Dog cut gears have been around in the racing world forever. Astons, jags, and old muncie 4 speeds used em in vettes, camaros, and so on.
@EvansBrosRacing
@EvansBrosRacing 3 жыл бұрын
@@coltoncarpenter3790 back in the old days they cut most of the syncro numbs off and called them crash boxes , but they had external shift linkage rods with a lot of movement on the shifter . This modern stuff looks so much easier to shuift , minimal travel . The Dog cut gears have been around a long time but these are surely high dollar , high tech transmissions
