I dont need to read above or be an expert to comment . Been building powerful Hondas for 20 yrs before they were cool even. A rear wing does nothing for a fwd car no matter the power output. Any knowledgeable car person knows this. SOoooo
@pirelli418 жыл бұрын
You've been building powerful Hondas for 20 years but never built one that turned any fast laps on a race track. If you don't know what you're talking about you should keep your comments to yourself, otherwise it makes you look foolish!
@ivanlegasto54887 жыл бұрын
To my knowledge, wouldn't a rear wing on a fwd car help with stability? Considering it has a bigger and stiffer roll bar in the rear. Hence the inside rear wheel coming off the ground during turning. I vaguely remember seeing this old video of a EK9 on a track and the driver demonstrating how the car handled with and without the rear wing. The car was a lot less consistent and the driver seemed to be having a hard time controlling the car. Also considering that in that video the EK9 had around 250hp compared to the 500 this DC2 has
@nickoli98897 жыл бұрын
Such stupid way of thinking. Just because a 500hp purpose built race car has a wing doesn't mean your FF daily driver requires a wing. THAT is where the the sentiment comes from. For a street car, I would be more concerned of the front lifting at highway speeds. Putting a big-ass, off the shelf (i.e., cosmetic) wing likely hurts more than it helps. Engineering functional aero is not a simple thing. The primary purpose of a rear wing is to balance the front aero. The entire package is dependent on the vehicle's downforce requirements for a particular track...

dc2r's came in left hand drive to north america...The biggest thing about a type R chassis is that it is Seam wielded..which makes the chassis alot more regit than a normal DC2.. so it is a big difference.

Why does a fwd car has a spoiler? isnt make it worst?
@vtecminileon8 жыл бұрын
because fwd cars dont have much weight at the back so the back tends to be unstable at high speed (depends how you set the rears wheels - toe in, out or parallel) using a spoiler creates down force at the back and pushes the rear down. The spoiler and the diffuser working in harmony can create a lot of downforce which helps the back end to be a lot stable and to give good grip
@BurnDuration8 жыл бұрын
On a racecar running 255 width A7s in the front and 225 width at the back, and heavy forward weight bias, this thing probably has a lot of lift-throttle oversteer under trail braking, hence the need for rear aero grip. This car is dialed in. No rice to be found here.

centrifugal supercharger. it's the same impeller design as a turbocharger, just belt driven instead of turbine driven. so it basically sounds like a turbo, but with less whistle because there's no wastegate. in a built car like that with no cats, resonators, or mufflers the exhaust noise is so loud it just covers up the noise of the supercharger. they make roots blowers for the k series but usually people go for the centrifugal design because it's easier to cool the charge air (just use an intercooler like in a normal turbocharged setup. no crazy complicated liquid cooling or aftercooler setups).
