I had a bullworker in the early 1980s when I was 17. Spent the last 40 years doing other strength routines. Then a few months ago I saw a bullworker in a church sale and spent 3 quid on it. I love using it and am doing the exercises you demonstrated. It's been like time travel, or maybe I just want to feel young again.

@cerberus2881 I've got an old bull worker. Apparently the modern ones are great and you've the choice to change spring tension to suit your own ability. I love doing weights but because my knees and neck are weak from playing rugby I've got to be careful and can't go too heavy. I use a combination of BW, light weights and resistance bands. You've got to just know your body and adapt your programme. I enjoy BW though as it was the first strength training I ever did. I just wish I had as much energy now as I had then. Keep up the training. When you look at people like Stallone at 75 and still in good shape it shows us that the body can stay strong if we train right.

I am 73 years old, and I came back to the Bullworker as we referred to it as a Tensolator back in the 1960s. Here I am talking about the basic Bullworker with the original instructions. I lost those instructions, but I found them on a U-Tube video where the man took them out of the box and read them, and I took pictures of the pages from the video. I recently came back to the Bullworker when my groin was sore from bicycle riding to strengthen them. I favor the original instructions because I believe that they are scientifically designed to hit all muscle groups. They are better then the newer revised instructions. It is not a hard workout, but you can make it harder by lengthening the duration and pumping it, although isometrics require you to hold the pressure for about 10 seconds. I pump the shoulder muscles in the doorway and the stomach muscles while sitting and the back muscles while lifting. It really is not for body building. The original instructions are good in a mental and psychological way giving one a sense of belief in the product which also helps. It is a good workout when you are not doing anything else.

Man does that bring memories. Had one of those in 1980. Still can’t remember what happened to it. Got really ripped using it though. At 67 years old I still am.😊

I used mine 2 days this week. Good think about it is also that it is portable. I carried it in its sling case to martial arts class where I use it as part of the 15 minutes of physical training that we have to do at the start of class.

That looks a good quick workout. I do a routine including legs in which I do isotonic exercises with an isometric hold to finish. How often would you recommend the latter? Thanks again.

Always want time for your body to recover so it depends on intensity. We like 4-5 days a week of exercises 6 if you can.

I have a bullworker that I bought in 1971. It looks longer than this one, has green handles and a red position marker on the tubes. It used to have a wall chart and booklet that detailed a number of exercises, both of which I misplaced years ago. I'm wanting to get back into a routine with the bullworker and would like to know if either the wall chart, the booklet or both can still be purchased. By the by, the bullworker has endured the travails of time much better than I have.

Right now I use Nautilus. However, I own, and use a Bullworker. I keep a newer, 36" model at work. A home I have a small collection. I have the Steel Bow. A Steel Bow 28 I could close at one time. An ancient green handled model, two brown handled models, and other models. I will say this, stick with the Bullworker brand. It cost more, but is a much better piece of equipment.

"You will increase your strength up to 66% faster than traditional weightlifting." This is an out and out lie. Easy doesn't work.
@Bullworker6 күн бұрын
Isometrics engage more muscle fibers than traditional weightlifting reps, just science. Simple, not easy.
