The "mental crisis" this young woman was experiencing was being told "No" by someone who absolutely meant it. The ex saying "No, I do not want to be with you anymore. No, I am not going to put up with your self-obsessed drama anymore. No, you are not welcome in my home anymore" and the police officers saying "No, you don't get to dictate what happens here". When I was 18 my FIRST serious boyfriend and I broke up after 2 years. The day he broke up with me was when my Grandma passed. The day of her funeral my Father suffered a major heart attack. As upset, sad, mad, heartbroken I was... I NEVER acted the way this girl acted. Of course that was 1983, and let's face it.. parents did not coddle their kids as much as they do these days. I am sorry if she is having mental issues, but these officers were MORE than patient with her for far too long. Honey: IF he doesn't want you, move on. PLENTY of fish in the sea. Trust me.

Well every time it was okay put the cuffs on and do your thing my "friends" on the other hand always tried to run (in cuffs) they never got far. I even had the ultimate get out of jail free card since my dad was chief of the town's fire department that all the cops were scared of. But I was taught that by my dad that if I get arrested if I call him or my mom for bail they'd just laugh and hang up on me and so would the neighbors because if I end up in that position I fucked up, i needed to learn a lesson, or just I needed a reality check.

In my early 20's I had a boyfriend breakup with me that I was desperately in love with. I was consumed with him & it was toxic on my end. When he was breaking up with me, my emotions ran as deep & hot as hers. No police were necessary but I knew for certain I was going to die of a broken heart. I knew I would die without him. I understand her getting so wrapped up in a relationship that you can't feel anything other than exhilaration & all-consuming fantasy. When that ends, the only thing that comes out of your heart & mouth is an agony you can't survive. I feel for her.

I get the feeling these antics have always worked with her parents, siblings, peers, lovers, teachers, and so forth, which is why she felt so confident she could bully the officers into letting her have her way. A majority of people these days put up with this. It’s either “too much work”, “too embarrassing”, or “not worth the false accusations”. Parents get dirty looks if they do or say anything negative to their screaming children in public, even if all they do is pick them up and carry them to the car. Young men are terrified of being wrongfully accused of terrible things, and thus are likely to cave pretty quickly if they think that’s on the table. Teachers aren’t allowed to even verbally discipline their students in many places. This gal was never taught that her antics won’t work on law enforcement. Unfortunately, her behavior isn’t likely to change much, and that worries me; I’d be terrified knowing this woman is out there driving around, just waiting for the next outburst that’ll inspire her to drive her car into something (or someone). A buddy of mine was in a car with his ex wife and their young child many years ago, and he answered a question “incorrectly”. When he said “no”, she immediately yanked the wheel over and drove directly into a small tree and a fence. All three escaped without serious injuries, but the car was totaled, and her parents *blamed him* for being “difficult” and “forcing her into a bad mood”. See, they knew that telling her she’d done wrong would result in a scene like we see above, and also knew that blaming him would result in less of a headache, so that’s the route they chose. I’d bet $12 and my last can of cherry Pepsi that her parents raised her exactly the same way.

Mom should have taught her no REAL man wants a weak minded woman like this. No matter how bad an argument, it gets this bad you lose all credibility. She actually thought acting this way would get what she wanted? Mental crisis? Naw, she just one of those females who are not mature for a relationship.

I can’t tell if she’s been sheltered and having an elementary age tantrum at 19; or just never been told no and this is her norm. But not with cops. Or, this is her discovering she has a psychosis. Like, this is her break down. Leading to diagnosis.

And to think she’s only had 18 years to master that childish tantrum. Parents did a great job!

@@UnskilledGrappler-Exactly, her parents clearly let her do what she wanted and never gave her consequences for this kind of behaviour.
