According to the FED's, most recent beige book, there are five alarming signs that the economy is in freefall. We could even be on the verge of economic collapse if these problems continue to worsen without any real solutions. All our government and the FED wants to do is print our way out of this which will no longer be possible. The recession/depression is here.

The only American who won't acknowledge this Administration's failed economic policies is Joe Biden. "Shrink-flation' is the least of our worries compared to rising rents and stagnant wages, but it is an undeniable indicator of how bad our inflation has gotten. I have $100k that i like to invest in a non-retirement account, any advice on that?

A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. I recognize the hardships that come with economic struggles like unemployment, job loss, inflation, housing market instability, political uncertainties, and the global impact of conflicts and wars. Making ends meet during such times can be incredibly challenging. To navigate this difficult period, considering alternative job prospects, enhancing skills through online courses, and expanding your network can heighten the chances of securing employment. Moreover, prudent budgeting, exploring available financial aid programs, and seeking assistance from community organizations can offer some relief. How are you currently tackling these challenges? Have you implemented any specific strategies to cope?

It's often true that people underestimate the importance of financial advisors until they feel the negative effects of emotional decision-making. I remember a few summers ago, after a tough divorce, when I needed a boost for my struggling business. The contracts have suddenly started drying up. After recently hiring a multitude of employees with highly specialized skill sets, we are now counting down to the end of a career. This is a global reset, and I do not know where, when, or if this ends well. Best time to look for new employment is when your employed. Nobody is immune to a good ole restructuring to cut cost. I believe it is approaching epidemic levels. If anyone has dollars, its the government...and they are starting to cut back on the distribution of those dollars. I believe we are in a free-fall, and this does roll down hill. No money = no spending = no demand = your fired.

@junulock
@junulock 8 күн бұрын
In response: I believe the issues of house foreclosures; vehicle repossession is the result of purchasing at overly inflated prices. People have put themselves in huge levels of debt through the use of credit. That and the fact credit lenders have approved bad loans. Now that the dollars purchasing power has been eroded the costs for everything, have increased; except wages have not kept pace. People have found themselves with increasing expenses they cannot keep up with. In the case of vehicles they bought them at highly inflated prices. They may have also rolled in their existing debt from the trade in vehicle into their new agreement. Then in a short period down the road the price of that vehicle (the money they could expect to get if they were or had to sell it wouldn’t cover what they owe in debt on it). The monthly payments on it are huge. The insurance cost on the vehicle is outrageous along with increased costs for house & health insurance on their plate. They are now living paycheck to paycheck. Stuck with a vehicle they can’t get out from under without a huge loss. Even if it’s repoed and goes to auction it will not recoup enough to cover the balance of the loan. So they get left without a vehicle and still a loan they have to make payments on to cover the remainder due.

The living example of economic failure is right in front of virtually everyone who very little effort can see the horrific exponential increases in homelessness throughout our entire country! As long as hundreds of thousands cannot meet their basic needs, our societies economic health is in need of intensive care!

One of the financial people I watch said if we used the 80's version of inflation calculation it's 12%. He said the actual number with calculating everything is 23.96%. I think we all know we are being massively lied to. No one paying for bills or going to the store thinks the numbers they are telling us check out. As for homes, I'm starting to see some lower. There's some areas where those are being forced to come down. There are pockets where people could find something they could afford. Then the question of whether they want to live there or could find a job there comes into play.

I listen to a YT channel titled China Observer. I think it is made in Thailand. In China, the only way to accumulate wealth is to buy homes, well they are now in a recession and they are stuck with these homes, they have to lower the price and even then , they can't sell them. They can't make the mortgage payment because they lost their jobs.

My home insurance went up 95% in St. Louis area, no claims ever. I wish it was 20%. 20% increase was in 2023, but 2024 renewal was almost 100%, roof still has 20 years life left. Was able to bring it down, but not by much. Major insurance companies stated house is too old. Go figure, 3 years ago they had no problem insuring me. Most St. Louis homes are old, but are better built than the newer crap.
