Great Video! Yes, the FED dropped rates in 2008 to almost zero. But I doubt they will be able to do it again this time, because inflation is very sticky and won't disappear, even during recession - at least not immediately.

Rob,the rates shouldn’t have been near zero for the last several years, that creates bubbles. If they don’t increase rates our inflation will go exponentially to the moon. What would you suggest they do ? We’re screwed no matter what.

Japan has decided to intervene in propping up it's falling currency the Yen. "TOKYO, Sept 22 (Reuters) - Japan intervened in the foreign exchange market on Thursday to buy yen for the first time since 1998, in an attempt to shore up the battered currency after the Bank of Japan stuck with ultra-low interest rates." USDJPY (US Dollar vs JaPanese Yen) fell from 145 down to 142 on the announcement and the DXY fell slightly as well. Be interesting to see how many US Bonds they may sell and how long they can prop up the Yen. The Fed has stated they want positive real interest rates and are expecting rates to be 4.25% to 4.5% by the end of 2022. How long they can continue will be interesting for sure. VT247
